Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew of any companies that do automotive engineering design work in brisbane or surroundings? or even in QLD. The only one that I know mite do this kind of work is Fulcrum suspension as their main headquarters and R&D office is there. I am interested in this as I am looking for possible places to carry out a industry work placement over the 3 term break (nov to feb) So if anyone knows of any automotive places or even engineering firms that do something similar could you please let me know. thanks everyone Zach Zwisler 3rd year mechanical engineering Student CQU

Hey all I hadn't seen this mentioned or discussed anywhere else, I was wondering how the terri goes on like rough dirt roads. like is it a wepon on the rally track? seeing that it has no "real" 4x4 equip like the cruisers and patrols im doubtful that its no hill clib macine. On a dirt road it would have to kill most other cars wouldnt it? having a bit extra ground clearence an a fair wack of power?

hey I think they had a good idea.. looks like they ran out of tim finishing it off.. and I would call it more of a american show dawg then a rally car. I dont mind the bigger bonnet scoup and the side rails.. ah well its a pity no wonder they sacked heaps of ford marketing!

Hi I jsut found out how to create new threads! so I thought that I would re post this in a new one. I am a uni student from qld and I am down in sydney on workplacement, due to a family member passing away at my current residence I am now looking for a new place to live in sydney close to work (milperra) now the question Does anyone who lives in or knows sydney know of good area's to live in? I was thinking either padstow or revseby as its close and easy to get to work. Im asking here as most of you have awsum cars and like to take care of them so I thought that you mite know where to and where not to park/live. any help or info will be greatly appreicated! cheers

hey this mite be a bit random for this thread but I couldnt find out how to create another one.. (mite be lack of sleep) but I was wonding if anyone who lived in sydney had any advice about where is good to live. I am thinkin around the revseby/padstow area as its the only place I can find suitable acco and not have to risk some of the dodgy parts of town I have heard about (bankstown) in order to get to work at milperra. being a uni student down on workplacement I dont really know this joint. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry I should have been clearer, I was meaning is their much of a difference between the twin turbo setups from HPF and APS ? as hpf have shorter pluming don't they ? thou your right and I didnt think about the engine size, plus the torque short also make up for it

While out crusing today in my brothers XR8 mk2 (six speed man*basic mods short shifter, lowerd and cat back herrod system*) we saw a greenish VX clubsport, which sounded like it had a bad sports exzorst... so we caugh up and saw a silver badge saying "500KW" we were a bit suprised at this and gav it a litle squirt up to him. Then the next set of lights the clubby reved it (could hear a superchager whine) and it must have been cammed also as it sounded so sweet up the top end of it. Then he put it in drive and it squeeled the wheels while coming down off revs.. by this stage we knew we didnt have much of a chance but n e way we followed till outta town on a back road. then on a rolling start we jumped him.. then he tried and we got eaten bad!!! I dont think it looked to have 500kws but deiniatly well ova 330kw as a ruff guess (from a comparrasion to a xr6 turbo wit 330kws) and a twin turbo boss set may even up the score a bit I say. The thing is if this system does have 427kws then it would be really fast and im assuming would sound alot better (at all revs) as im not a fan of the gen 3noise with that cam and zorst.. (which is the old bongo van with holes drilled in the muffler!) sure it sounded good up top but u dont cruise at thos revs lol imo it was anyway... 427rwkw with a majorly stock engine is a top effort!!!! would love to see a power and torque graph of the sucka!!! has it got much lag ? would be a killer set up if it was marketed correctly! and am looking forward to designing such things when I graduate!!!
