  1. $5500 for 5 gears that work, 6th gear is just a bonus. The T5 just doesn't handle any power upgrade so it was a T56 or I was going to get rid of my ute for good.... Muzza.
  2. Yeh it sounds excessive but other than selling the ute with a noisey box & lossing near $4000 on the lease payout it was the only option. The T5 was only rebuilt less than 1000km before it started singing at me in 1st 2nd & 3rd. Costing goes as follows T56 new; $5500 inc gst Crossmember;$37 inc gst Mount;$52 inc gst Gearbox flange drive;$137 inc gst Extreme Single plate Clutch;$450 inc gst Labor;$100 +carton extra Dry I got this reply form Ford Raceparts as I thought they could do a good price on the T56. ____________________________________________________________________ We don't keep the gearbox in stock, but we can get one from Ford Racing in the USA. It is not listed specifically for the XR6 Turbo, but it is a T56 used in the Mustangs. If you wanted more info on the gearbox, the part number is M-7003-F. Go to this link, www.fordracingparts.com and type in the part number as it is written and it will give you all the gear ratios and other specs. Cost of the unit is $4635 inc GST. Approx 6-8 weeks to get in from the USA. Thanks Troy ____________________________________________________________________ I hope this does not contravene any forum rules. rgds, Joe The only problem I see using the Mustang Box is were your gear stick comes through the floor it would be something to check before you go & order 1.The xr6t the selector looks to be further back than the Mustang box shown. Also with the Genuine item from ford Aust you get the Slave throwout bearing & plumbing worth aprox $400. If you were to go the mustang box avoid the stuffing around & ring Mal Wood as he has done the hard work to make them fit. Muzza
  3. [ PS: Muzza and I are going over next tuesday night with muzza's car to learn how to run the dyno, I cant wait, getting to belt SOMEONE ELSE'S 270rwkw ute, on the dyno. Yippeeee. Just waiting on a bite weren't you.. Should be a great day to meet a few more of the forum users & you mite even learn something. Muzza.
  4. The 3.73 would be better in 1st & reverse which I'm looking into once I can raise a few $$. I'm not using it much at the moment so it can wait. But at least I can stick the foot into it without worrying about damage. Muzza
  5. The Ute's a company car aswell Robby. Hear you got yourself a APS exhaust? Nice. Lucky your dads going deaf so he won't notice it on his car..... Muzza.
  6. Thanks Robin, I done the same as you with the lock out, if it doesn't have power you can't get reverse at all so the brake switch under th dash was what we used. 1 other bit of info for anyone going to give it a go when removing the T5 you can't remove the box from the bell housing but with the T56 you can & it's the only way we could put the box in was to bolt up the bell housing first. If you go for the new T56 from ford as I done the Slave/through out bearing comes with it so using the Extreme clutch you can save $300 by getting the clutch kit without the Slave cylinder. Hope this helps Muzza.
  7. There were no mods to be done other than buying 1x BAF 7003B XR6T M11 t56 gearbox 1x BAF 4K177A XR8 Gearbox Flange Drive 1x BA2 5060A Crossmember 1x BA2 6068A Cross member rubber mount 1x Clutch you can afford & I would recommend getting your flywheel machined or replaced. With the grunt most of us are pushing through them they get way hot. But if your doing it yourself start working you upper body strengh them T56 are 90kg aprox. going off the amount of blisters on my hands make sure you don't start the job 5 min after you have pulled up och... The diff ratio's from M1 ute to M11 ute must be different as it's a little taller in the lower gears now. Does anyone know if the change over affect the speedo reading or it all that done through the ecu? Muzza.

  9. I'll talk to him over the next few days so I'll let him know to reply to you, not sure if his pc is working at home. Give him a ring in a couple of days. Thanks guys for the support just got to get through these double demerits days or should I say the running in period. Muzza.
  10. What a way to spend Christmas eve at a mates work shop fitting a brand spanker T56. It took longer than we hoped due to a loctited spicket & stripped gear box mount bolts thanks to the wankers using airgun doing them up the last T5 rebuild. Took about 5 hours all up using new M11 Xr6t bits. Well I couldn't be happier other than the $6k I'm out of pocket. Merry Christmas. Muzza.
  11. Parts Required: Ford T56 MkII gearbox (Approx $6k), BA XR8 Gearbox Yoke ($190), MkII BA Gearbox Crossmember ($180), a connector to fit to the reverse lock-out solenoid connection. Thanks for the info I should have my t56(possible the last in OZ the way he was talking) through the week but just 1 question why the xr8 gearbox yoke when there is BA & BF xr6t yokes available? Either way I ordered the xr8 yoke on your advice. Stuff Chrismas I'm counting sleeps till I can do more than 1000 km before I need to rebuild my t5.... Muzza
  12. The Whistle is your gearbox on the way out.... I've only done 2500k's in my T since I got it & it's looking at it's 2nd t5 rebuild or a T56 replacement. It's not an option now my Raptor 660 & my tax return should just cover the cost...Doh ! Muzza.
  13. It would be good if we were in the same state........... I'm not in the same state but can transfer enough $$ to your state for your T56 & the required parts..??? I really need to replace my T5 urgent! Mal you got any Chrismas special on a t56 conversion ????? Muzza.
  14. Hi, So this is how the other half live.....? ...Nice. Can any of you FPV owner help me out to get a Gauge bass as I have the rest but struggle to get the bass? (No buying a whole car isn't a option yet) I'm willing to pay twice what you have to pay for it? If anyone can help please pm or e-mail racegun@bordernet.com.au Thanks Murray.
  15. My T5 lasted about 1 day after the power upgrade then 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 5th started singing....not the tunes I like either. It's been rebuilt but still at idle with the foot off the clutch it making a noise. T56 upgrade is the way to go if you want too spend 6k+ Sorry for the bad news. Muzza.
  16. If anyone needs a boost sensor normaly $131 retail I have 1 for $85. Muzza.
  17. I just like to thank Eugene for not just working out how to fix my lack of boost problem but turning up at my place drinking my beer, & most of all fixing it before I got home from work... (No Tab I wasn't in the deck chair watching this time). I'm sure Nic would have done the same. The problem was what was said a bad earth & a sh*t house harness(1 in 100). All is go again.. Muzza.
  18. I though I was having the same problem so I changed the solinoid & it didn't make any difference I'm still getting a massive 1.5lb boost. I'll get a multimetre tomorrow & see if im getting any pulse to plug. Anyone else has this problem with a solution? thanks in advance Muzza.
  19. What makes the Dual pass a hunk of crap ? you would think the air passing the core twice would lower the temp more? sure there would be a little more restriction were it changes the air direction but wouldn't that be off set with a little more boost up it's bum? Only reason I ask is I picked up a dual pass PWR which I havn't fitted yet for a good price & just wondering if there is fact behind them being crap or if some were expecting miracles from fitting a cooler without adding a little more than stock wind? Or should it head to ebay heven while it's still new in the box. Muzza.
  20. actually left the maps and changed the numbers in the scalers to get it right mick! muzza no I have not done it for the xede but is aprox 10% diference in flow with eugenes being bigger!!! With the tunes were have scaling is at 0.852, with standard injectors it's at 1.000. Soo do we reduce it 10% from the 0.852 or is it best to drop it a little & try it? Whats the best method?? Just for the record it's running smooth with lots of grunt at 0.852 but you know what new toys are like. Muzza.
  21. Hi all, I was just looking through the Xmap3 & a few tunes we are using when a question come to me about Injector scaling,it seems to be an issue to get it just right. I'm running a set of Eugene's with great sucess but I'm led to believe the scaling in the tunes are set on the 968's flow rate. Has anyone gone to the trouble to workout the correct scaling to suit xmap3? How does one go about it ? If so I'd love to hear about it. Also once you change the scaling is it a roll on affect for the rest of the tune? Looks to be in your field Dynowog. Muzza.
  22. Now that I've got myself a XR6T ute with a little convincing from a ride in Eugene's (Chris) rather inmpressive Lightning strike package. I've thought it would be time to have a look at the fordxr6turbo site my very good friend raves about. & what should I find but a slur right at me. O well hopefully next weekend after a few hours changing a few dozen things you just may get my back to the "Darkside" for good. Thanks Buddy. Expensive Daewoo Knob. P.S. They are hidding the stuffed one's in a container now.
