  1. hope they do it formula 1 style and kick him out of the round...... He should know better to do crap like that on a title decider.....
  2. Glad you are ok.... Car's can be replaced... father's can't......
  3. Scotty, I know what you mean, but, at the root of it all, it should not be about hiding a mod..... As said elsewhere, it IS about the relationship you have with your dealer, and, hopefully there is another dealer around if you dont like your current one..... I know I do have a choice.... and that is why I hate going to where I bought my car from..... their attitude is crapola...... Thanks for the offer on the swaybars... would love to see the difference..... am just waiting to see my options at the moment, as looking to either trade up to a BF, or an F6, then start the mods..... Cheers Scott
  4. guys, hate to be the messenger that will no doubt get flamed like mad, but what is being talked about is what most people would call.... FRAUD......... The warranty on the car is for a STANDARD / UNMOLESTED / UN-EDITED car...... anything above and beyond that, is your own responsibility / cost..... If you have modified your car, and it breaks, it's really a bit much to expect ANY manufacturer to provide warranty for the part...... My own car is still under warranty, yet I HAVE done a few small mods..... and... if they cause an issue, I'll simply pay for my own repairs...... Frankly, if you can afford to play (modify), you should be able to afford to pay.... it's been SAID OVER AND OVER on this forum....... How many times is this dead horse of an issue going to be flogged ???

I got an air horn off ebay for $79. it's 134 decibels, and is like a train horn.... BLOODY LOUD... very useful for roundabouts with the idiots who don't care if you're on it....... took half an hour to fit, and did not take up much space....
  6. only one word for that car : FUGLY !!
  7. O U C H !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. guys, Can you please feedback on what you think...... I'm close to buying at least a front 27mm swaybar, so would love to know what you think.... Cheers Scott
  9. Jordak, mate u crack me up...... got it in one !!!! LOL !!! anyway.... I'm not here to create an argument.... people will believe what they believe, and experience what they do.... I'm simply stating what I have experienced !! Cheers
  10. Guys, As I've said in different ways.... EACH TO HIS OWN.... We've heard many stories good and bad about the product..... At the end of the day with a "latest version" it does exactly what is claimed, and I AM happy with it....... Yes, It's not cheap... but mine certainly wont be gathering dust anytime soon...... Cheers
  11. Saleen - I did not start this topic to convince anyone about the kit... I merely wanted to state what I have observed and experienced first hand as there were too many emotional comments on the forum, hence not allowing people like me, who were considering an SS Ind. Kit to really know what the benefits may be..... Is the price high for this kit ? Think I answered that one ages ago... YES.... As long as a "fake" one doesnt melt shut on you.... go for it...... At the end of the day, now that it has bedded in with ECU, I'd would probably say it's been a good investment..... I see it as a "stage 1" to bigger and better things down the road..... ( Redcliffe Dyno & RDP computer here I come !! ) Kimberley Scott - Car was fitted at the beginning of July when the weather was already cool..... Weather has not changed it...... Even on a warm day it's still better..... Car had about 23,600 k's on the clock when I installed..... Just passed 25,000kms this week...... Cheers Scott
  12. Guys, Just a quick update.... In the instruction sheet on the Install Kit, it mentions that it will take a few hundred km's for the ECU to get used to the extra air.... After about 1000km's my car has finally found it's form..... Noticable differences : 1) car seems to have freed up.... 2) turbo is coming on MUCH STRONGER & EARLIER 3) car wants to spin it's wheels MUCH more.... 4) FUEL ECONOMY - Has improved by 40-60km pre tank....... I drive from the Gold Coast to Bris most days of the week, plus a bit of fanging around locally.... each week is the same.... so these differences are quite noticeable.... Cheers Scott
  13. The turbo spools earlier and it does rev up to redline quicker. I'd say more mid range punch.....
  14. Interesting to see all the people finally come out of the woodwork on this one..... As you'll note from the name of this topic, it's about the facts here.... not about the emotions of it all...... I too have a 2nd XR8 CAI which I am happy with...... I now have the SS Inductions kit as my 1st CAI, and, I'm happy with what it does... the car performs much better..... Now, onto a secondary issue, is it worth $400..... probably not I'd say.... but hey, SS Inductions have put the time and effort into developing the product....... no such thing as a free lunch.... Each to his own I say...... My topic here was to report without emotion, what I have encountered and what I know to be factual..... There are many ways to skin a cat....... you could even go a 3rd or 4th intake if you want to go mental....... Does the SS Kit increase power levels ? frankly I dont care..... Does the car respond better, have more urge ? YES. most definitely..... Comments / Emotions / Personal choice aside.... simply put, if you want the T to perform better, you gotta let her breathe right....... how you do that is up to you..... but you WILL need to do something...... Cheers Scott
  15. nup, you actually cut a much larger hole where the original intake hole was.....
  16. OK, An update to this.... I've just fitted the intake today..... INSTALLATION : - Fit was ok but ended up drilling my own holes to fit the intake to the airbox.... - Intake DOES fit together with the XR8/Phoon intake.. - re-inserting box with both intakes takes a bit of wriggling..... The best solution was to remove the hose from the water pump so that I could get the whole kit in correctly..... ON THE ROAD : - Turbo spools much faster - Definitely a noticeable increase in pickup and power delivery.... NICE !!! MORE FACTS : - Instruction sheet DOES mention that it WILL take a few hundred KM's for the ECU to get used to more airflow........ FINAL VERDICT : - Is it worth it..... well, I'm not sure..... I mean YES it IS good, but for the price of two of these you could get an edit........ - At the end of the day I think, personally I'm happy with the purchase as, no matter what you do with your car, it WILL need to breath better...... Cheers
  17. Jack, Thanks for that..... Seat of the pants is what is important to me..... I see too many people on here who seem to get wound up about the SS intake...... thought to myself, these people should know what they are doing..... and thought, stuff it, let me go and talk to them directly..... a bunch of nice people is what I found... and what they are doing, makes sense..... Development vehicles : XR6 Turbo Ute... Auto, but with new piping for the turbo & BOV.... HSV Grange LS1 300kw.... Development done for the real world... these people are car nuts like us.....
  18. Why dont you call em.... worst they could say is no replacement I guess...... Jimmy, did you notice any improvement to the car after install ??? Cheers Scott PS / NB / Whatever to all : I have no relation or interest whatsoever to SS Inductions.....
  19. Hi All, Well, to go sideways first, things have changed slightly for me, so... I wont be getting an F6... Plan B if you like.... meaning I start the mod path on my T..... NOW.... after reading all and sundry emotional messages here about the SS Inductions air intake, and, after driving past their new factory on the M1 in Ormeau (Qld). I decided to stop in, and ask a few questions direct..... I asked them to join this forum, but they are a bit too busy to get into keyboard fights..... They have a stocktake sale on at the moment, so, I picked up a kit for my T... $385. FACT 1 : - Testing of the products for the 6cyl are all done on an XR6 TURBO UTE..... had a look for myself..... FACT 2: - Current generation intake is MUCH thicker than the 1st generation, and has multiple upright supports. if you have an older gen kit, you should call em.... very nice people to deal with... FACT 3: - there are FAKES out in the market.... legal fights underway right now to stop at least 2 copycats in NSW... FACT 4: - ebay items - NOT SURE about quality.... I know they are cheaper, but what are you actually getting ? are they the real thing ? FACT 5: THE BIG ONE !!!! - Main issues with SQUASHED intakes are caused by people not reading the bloody instruction sheet, which CLEARLY STATES, you need to either remove the entire front bonnet seal, or cut out a section of it.... the SS Inductions T Ute I looked at had the seal removed completely..... FACT 6: the current generation kit WILL work if you have a Typhoon CAI installed as well... SS Ind ute has that also.... THE KIT : contains : Intake, screws, sticker, foam seal, instructions & aluminium air ram scoops I hope this helps people like me who've been sitting on the fence about this product..... after talking to the people direct and hearing what they had to say, it was enough for me to buy one..... I'll add to this topic once I've got it installed and can advise on the feel...... I'm not into a dick fight about how many KW's extra it generates... I want to know what it FEELS like..... Cheers All... Scott PS - not getting F6 anymore..... set my sights on an AMG CLS55 !!! if I meet biz targets !!! Will keep the T as a toy...... BRING ON THE EDIT !!! no 19" wheels.... keepin it stealth......
  20. Can I join the list ??? or does the car have to be "special" ??? BF MkII T - new grills / dark tint....
  21. Impact, after all the comments here etc, what do you think of the Chiptorque guys ?? I was planning to do exactly the same as you.... I.e. take it local on the Gold Coast..... I'd love to get FISTED ( waiting for the jokes any second now...... ) but getting home from Wacol will not be much fun...... Wonder how much to have the car trucked there.... ??? anyway... just wanted to know what you thought of them.... I mean, afterall, it seems you just wanted the edit installed and nothing else.... Did you discuss anything with them about it beforehand ?? Cheers Scott PS - REALLY want your opinion.... I'm 3 weeks out from going edit......
  22. xr5t - the poor mans ford turbo ??? ( even though they cost a fair bit ) I realise Ford are pitching to a younger market with the 5, but really, what is the point..... why not pump up the 6T as the hero car...... Ford could have done a LOT more marketing & engineering wise with the 6T.... as mentioned here before.... no getting around simple physics..... 4.0 versus 2.x ?
  23. you need to get a detector !!!!!
  24. Ian, Did you notice an improvement with the SS Inductions intake ? not necessarily in KW terms, I mean more along the lines of response / urge..... Been toying with the idea of visiting SS Inductions, and asking them about the "melted" kits.... but somehow, thought that maybe it's a ver 1.0 issue...... Cheers Scott

See if you can talk to the owner / Managing Director of the dealership, and explain what happened to you.... then, I would DEMAND : 1) the send you all the missing items at their cost Immediately 2) pay for all towing costs you incurred. If you do not get a good response, simply mention you will be calling Ford HQ to make a formal complaint..... HOUND THE BASTARDS.................. until you get what SHOULD/MUST be supplied with your car.... Good Luck..... NAME & SHAME !!!
