  1. You should have thought of that with the Phase 'T' kits... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good come back sweeper.................though we all know that powerful T's need an auto upgrade. I guess given your little experience or interest in the T up until now, maybe it's a bit harsh to expect you to know this. Peter
  2. Yeah Rods Boss V8 ute has run a 12.6 and does have approx 260 to 270 RWkW's on the APS dyno. With all cars the 60 foot time is always important and every one who races at Calder is in the identical position...............nothing new in that statement. Point is that Rods ute is tuned via the Unichip and does the times...............quickest N/A Boss in Oz Thanks Peter <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm sure that with some of the torque reduction strategies removed that 2 tenths could be taken from his times, at the same power level. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well that may prove to be correct though it did NOT show up in the 60 foot times or the ET on cams GT, did it? :o And the torque reduction strategies will need to be treated very carefully otherwise owners will have many trashed auto transmissions in the GT and XR8 (this auto trans is border line at around 500 Nm) Ford did not build this into the PCM for no reason. 4. Geea. :o <{POST_SNAPBACK}> <{POST_SNAPBACK}> All I was saying, is that it appeared that after the edit had been done and tuned by Rob (Herrod) and Tuna themselves, that it was no quicker than it had been in the past. I was only sharing this information and observations with other forum members that may have been interested. Geea. :o <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thankyou Craig, this was part of the point I was trying to make not only on this post about Cameron's car. Nomatter what he has done to it I have not heard of, or like you seen him run quicker than a 13.7, whether it was APS equiped or CAPA equiped, ontop of all the Herrod stuff he has on it. And as I have previously stated, can anyone tell me of any GT they know that has gone quicker than a 13.7 down the qtr, as I have never heard of one nor seen one, and there are few that run at Calder. Some people really need to lighten up around here, and take peoples comments with the best intentions intended. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Jb there have been a number of XR8's and GT's that have run quicker than a 13.7 ET, Rodderz one of our customers has run a 13.5 in an XR8 and the guys from GandD have a XR8 (customers car) which runs a 13.2 ET, both are tuned via the Unichip. There is also another guy from the FF (alex is his name from memory ) which has a GT which I believe runs around 13.3/13.4@110 MPH and this car has around 280RWkW's and is running an exede computer. Just goes to show there are some fairly quick Boss V8's out there running interceptor tuning technology. peter <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks for Clarifying Peter. It's obvious besides bolting on 2 blowers, it's alot harder to get the GT to go quick down the qtr than the T. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah JB the GT and pursuit ute are heavy though one of my customers has run a 12.6 ET in the persuit ute (fastest BA boss car in Oz) and this Boss engine has been tuned also via the Unichip computer, it just takes the right combination of performance parts, tuning, and driver to achieve a quick result on the strip. :o Peter Nothing that 2 ball bearing turbos and a decent air to air intercooler won't sort out.............will know for sure early next year.
  5. macka don't waste your time or money, a turbo XR6T will hose the S/C XR6 easily and with better power and torque across the entire rpm range. I've seen a number of supercharged XR6 engines over the years and to say they are disappointing would be a gross understatement. Peter <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wasn't he talking about an "8"...? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No an XR6 from what I read. :o Peter
  6. Now your on the right tram. Peter

  9. Macka don't expect really large gains from a stock XR8 and GT afterall they are N/A engines. Much of the power increase from the XR6T turbo comes from additional boost pressure, unfortunatly the same can't be said for the XR8 and GT. A 15 to 20 RWkW gain from the N/A GT Boss engine should be considered a good power gain from engine tuning. Peter
  10. Lawsy it's a little premature to say there is a 60 RWkW gain from the reflash only, this has not been verified by any independent operation as yet. IF there figures are anything like what they quoted for the GT (stock GT read something like 260 RWkW', when in reality the true figure for a GT is approx 230 RWkW's) then I for one would like to see some independent verifcation before believing the figures mentioned in your post. Peter
  11. Dean I will bet you london to a brick that this person DEOS NOT own an APS Phase III system, I have very good records of our entire customer base and I'm 99.99% sure this guy is an opposition stooge just wanting to slag APS for his or others personal gain. I've asked this person to pm me or call me and surprise surprise no pm or phone call to date. If he's a genuine customer of course I'm prepared to assist him and equally I will apologise on this forum if he is indeed proven to be an APS Phase III owner. Peter
  12. Tuna you'd be better off trying to tune a GT that can do better than a [email protected] have us all shaking in our boots. Peter <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Far out, you see, this is exactly what I was talking about earlier (not in above post). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lawsy far out, this is not ignorance, it's a fact.............if you don't like the banter................then best you don't read any more post's. What goes around comes around. Thanks Peter
  13. Tuna you'd be better off trying to tune a GT that can do better than a [email protected] have us all shaking in our boots. Peter
  14. 1) via ignition timing map 2) why would you want to change stoich though it is posible...........it''s there for best possible fuel economy under cruise conditions 3) does not control auto trans parameters 4) is not an issue if the engine is tuned correctly And the Unichip has run many T's in the 11's and provided many customers with awesome road performance for over 2 years now..............a proven track record. Thanks Peter
  15. Street Sweeper I reckon let's all stop wasting time and get on with work. I'd be happy to let this be settled on the street and strip..............that's where it counts afterall. Thanks Peter
  16. I'm sorry Martin, but from what I have seen from you of late, your "real world" and THE real world are worlds apart. Cut the crap and experience the real world. It's not a bad place. George
  17. Good grief Maritn, your attempts at saving face on this forum are becoming tiresome. Unichip and APS-Edit have the ability to manipulate the air/fuel ratio, ignition timing advance and turbocharger boost pressure throughout the entire RPM and throttle ranges. They always have since their inception. How else to you think that APS can achieve the optimum EFI strategy and ADR79/00 compliance on the PHASEd High Output Systems? In fact ADR compliance on any of the APS PHASEd systems that employ larger than standard fuel injectors are living proof that optimizations through the Unichip computer (in real time) in part throttle operating conditions are true, valid and result in the optimum EFI strategy. You knew that when you clearly said that the Unichip can't. I maintain that you knowingly lied to the forum in order to discredit the Unichip, so please do not lash out because you were caught. Take it like a man Martin. As far as I am concerned, what really counts is the fact that APS customers enjoy an XR6T that is quick, responsive and street legal. Your continual attempts at spreading crap are simply a nuisance and in fact if I didn’t feel obligated to the genuine members of this forum, I’d just ignore your porkies. George
  18. hsveater why don't you pm me or state on this forum who sold and installed the APS Phase III system on your T, othewr wise I say you're an opposition stooge just trying to libel APS for your own or other's personal benefit. If I'm wrong I'm happy to make a public apology. Thanks Peter <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hsveater still no pm from you (though you're always quick to post and bag APS on this forum, seems like you've gone very quiet now) or better still if you genuinely have/own a T with a Phase III system and you believe that you have a genuine technical problem then please phone me on 03 9761 7244. I'm here waiting for your phone call and ready and able to assist you if you're are a genuine Phase III customer.................which I believe that YOU ARE NOT. Waiting for your pm or phone call so that I can verify you are a REAL APS customer, not an opposition STOOGE. Thanks Peter
  19. hsveater why don't you pm me or state on this forum who sold and installed the APS Phase III system on your T, othewr wise I say you're an opposition stooge just trying to libel APS for your own or other's personal benefit. If I'm wrong I'm happy to make a public apology. Thanks Peter
  20. You plug the Unichip Computer in, connect up the laptop and make adjustments in real time. And APS-Edit will allow even more far reaching changes - if required. Also you've cunningly missed some of the questions Martin. Do you have a placard on your desk that says "trust me I'm a journalist"? BTW, No offence to journalists who choose to report the truth (you can step aside Martin). George
  21. Martin what on earth has got into you? You know better than to tell such blatant porkies on a public forum. Each and every statement you made above was completely incorrect - As you have been around as a journalist for a while, you knew that the facts you presented above were incorrect. It worries me is that you choose to continue to tell lies about products and companies other than those you represent. Pick up your game Martin. It's just not right that you lie to forum members when you've run out of real issues to discuss. You're dragging the whole performance industry and consumers down. George
  22. hsveater, please don't be drawn into the confusing argument of covering up the symptoms rather than fixing the cause. In my opinion, fixing the cause is far superior to patching up the symptoms. Now before you are drawn onto another tangent (going by your haphazard previous posts), we at APS are supportive of PCM tuning technology as well as real time interceptor computers. The best tools brings out the best in talented tuners - and ultimately the best in engine performance for the consumer. I just wish I could say more about APS-Edit because it will not only satisfy your requirements voiced so far, but also address issues that you haven't even thought of yet. Jeeze I'm busting to spill the beans on APS-Edit. George
  23. Geea absolutely 100% spot on the money, the technology is very important though NOT more important than the knowledge of the tuner. Thanks Peter
  24. Ok so what your saying is that you put in a slack effort when releasing a new product in a new market............get real. They had the head tuner/journalist flown in to Melbourne in order to develop the magic tune and guess what, it's slower than the Unichip on the same car...............what a huge effort. Peter <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm sure Martin Donon would no doubt have some excellent edits written for exhaust modified GT's if he'd even spent 1/10 the time APS has on their R&D tunes!!! One man against a company ... impressive feat Peter <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well that's my entire point if the engine is tuned REAL Time (you will have an optimum tuning strategy in a few hours) you don't need months of RandD time to acheive the optimum state of engine tune. Oh here we again poor little tuna, the one man band up against the big bad company............give me a break will you, this has been done to death. Peter
  25. That's really funny.   Peter
