  1. Frank I believe that you well know that APS never cuts corners to the contary APS always err's on the side of being ultra conservative. Regards Peter
  2. Julian with the correctly sized multi orifice fuel injectors and with the engine thoroughly tuned to the intended power level.........the stock Ford fuel pump has more than sufficient fuel volume and pressure to maintain safe air fuel ratios/mixtures under full load high RPM operating conditions. We have been testing the T in this configuration for over 12 months and APS is now confident to release the phase 11 system in this specification................we never guess at what may occur as we always conduct significant in field testing to ensure safe engine operation before making any change to the APS system. It also fair to say that when APS released the original phase 11 system (with the big Bosch fuel pump) that APS was being overly cautious with the fuel system specification as we have seen many stock fuel pumps (in other factory turbo cars) drop fuel pressure and fuel flow over the journey, thankfully the stock ford fuel pump does not drop in performance at the phase 11 power level. Botttom line...........a large high volume fuel pump can be installed at any time, it's simply another choice for the customer to make, though it's not a necessary item at Phase 11 power. Thanks Peter
  3. With no fuel pump, it means cheap injectors Not sure where your coming from though to set the record straight the deletion of the large Bosch fuel pump from the Phase 11 system has no impact on the injector quality or size.............APS only uses the quality Bosch multi orifice fuel injectors........ as we always have in phase 11 system. Peter APS
  4. Hi Julian, There are many commercial and technical reasons for the newly specified Phase 11 system which I will cover in more depth later on today. The reduction in price has nothing to do with any dealer quitting the product as you mentioned in your post, and has everything to do with providing the best performance for dollars spent which is always one of the high priorities at APS. Regards Peter

Hi Guys, We have just updated the information on the APS Intake Plenum including a fairly detailed discussion on some of the engineering behind this component. See http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/falcon/plenum/plenum.htm I trust that you will find the information of value. George APS Web Team...and other stuff

Frank the TT Z is a very fast car (not that I would ever drive it over the speed limit in any event).....though not much point to owning a TT 350 Z as who in their right mind would buy a performance car and then drive it fast ..........that's just being plain silly. Now back to your question on the Twin turbo 350 Z......it's mighty quick though really struggles for rear end grip under full throttle and needs to be treated with a good deal of respect............needs bigger rear boots............would give most highly powered T's are real good run for the money (would easily hose most T's that I know of)..............that's on a race track of course. Now drive safely and never exceed the posted limit.
  7. aps replied to Trumpy's topic in Off-Topic
Fair enough and I can understand your point of view as I have also seen many people cut out of damaged cars........certainly not a pretty sight............though please do not blame high performance cars and experienced drivers for all of these road accidents as many accidents are caused through lack of concentration, fatigue, and sheer driver inexperience. :( Have a good day and drive safely.
  8. aps replied to Trumpy's topic in Off-Topic
My apologies and I agree entirely as the driving was far too slow and therefore the driver lacks total concentration with the task at hand through sheer boredom.........in addition tyres don't generate sufficent temperture for maximum road grip. Never drive a performance car like a performance car as it's irresponsible!
  9. aps replied to Trumpy's topic in Off-Topic
So peter, How much? for the twin turbo setup for the Nissan? Looks like an awesome package. Will be approx 15k for TT system inc GST install and dyno tuning................though we expect that a TT consumer will never spin the tyres or exceed 100 kph. Have a good day and please never drive a performance car as a performance car!
  10. aps replied to Trumpy's topic in Off-Topic
Thanks though I'm now gun shy, how do I know you're not encouraging me to drive over the speed limit.............don't be silly now. Have a browse of the APS web site at http://www.aps-350z.com/350z/350z.htm this will give you an idea of what we do when we get bored between new Ford product releases :o Have a good day and never speed over the limit...........it's bad for your health and of those around you

Hi Robbie, The videos are curently being updated (speed being slowed down so to speak) and I promise I will never allow any driver to exceed the speed limit again.....not even by 3 kph as this would be an infringement and be putting other citizens at risk. Hope you enjoy the new video of the phase IV XR6T falcon (soon to be released).......will be exciting stuff........at wild speeds of up to 100 kph only......and I will endeavour not even to chirp the tyres from 1st to 2nd.......it will be mega exciting for all ford enthusiasts. I have dismissed the idea of filming at high speed on a race track as this may be seen by some as encouragement to drive at high speed..............not a good thing as this be a deadly practise. Have a good day.
  12. Hazey a good question and we will obviously have a close look at the series II BA when released.............I have a number of ideas to futher stretch the performance of the phase II system though we need to wait to see what is possible. I'm not sure where the idea comes from though the T5 is not the limiting factor in terms of the current Phase II tuning strategy................we run as much turbo pressure as early as we can (low RPM range) to ensure a strong torque curve in the low to mid RPM range...............though we do tend to be more prudent with turbo pressure at lower rpm on Turbos BA's with auto transmissions. When I have my new Turbo I will certainly give you guys an update with what we intend to do with the new model BA turbo. Peter APS
  13. 339 kph measured by GPS................F 40 Ferrari..............880 Horsepower...............a very scary drive Peter
  14. Yes, that's correct Frank and the reason why the cat used in the APS exhaust system went through so much engineering effort and as a result so highly advanced. The exhaust is essentially a zero backpressure 304 stainless steel system with custom APS muffler assembly. Just a note tuffxr6 to keep in mind if street legality (and insurance) is an issue, the ADR 79/00 emission documentation with the PHASE III system applies to the whole system including the exhaust system. The XR6T is blindingly quick PHASE III system and I am sure you will also be delighted with the exhaust note from the APS exhaust. Nice and comfortable at cruise and light throttle openings - with no drone, but mean and purposeful when you sink the boot into it No doubt, you will be able to on sell your exhaust if you wish to recoup some cost as this is what many of our customers have done previously. By all means tuffxr6 drop me or Peter a PM or email if you would like to discuss this further. George
  15.  At 307 kph in a stock body Falcon one dare not take their eyes off the straight ahead position to even contemplate reading the sign. Mind you, the 202 mph displayed in that picture is even more frightening. George
  16. Hi there nzfordconvert. Good to hear of yet another convert to the XR6T. An NZ dealer is listed at http://www.aps-xr6t.com/falcon/falcon_agents_aus.htm As for the aftermarket drivetrain warranty in NZ it's best you speak with the dealer there who should have good experience with the local scene. George
  17. Sorry Brian, I thought it self explanatory. The erroneous comment was that below. We were just as excited as any XR6T enthusiast would be at the prospect of a smooth shifting and strong 6-speed, but none the less, a stronger box with an extra cog is a great step forward. I agree wholeheartedly with you though Brian regarding substantiaing any comments made with proof and technical reason. It's tough having people attack at every turn.... George
  18. That's not quite right Brian as there was more than one gearbox under review and the decision as to which gearbox to run in production encompasses technical and commercial input. Regardless, the source of the information could not (and cannot) be revealed - as a matter of professional courtesy. It will be very interesting though to see the gear ratios as this could make or break not only performance figures, but also the general usefulness of the gearbox in day to day driving. Anyway the prospect of a factory supplied stronger gearbox is exciting news for those who are considering purchase of a new XR6T and I imagine for the XR6T tuning industry as a whole. With a bit of luck, the gearbox components might also be a bolt on to earlier models. Given the low cost of other major components for the XR6T, hopefully the gearbox could be obtained at a good price directly from Ford (though it may require a diff ratio change). Exciting news! If some engineering time can be freed up there may be a couple of big surprises on the day. Should be a fun day for all. Will also be a good opportunity to shake hands with Craig. George APS Web Team ... and other stuff
  20. Londas, When you depress the clutch the input shaft to the gearbox is still turning. Then as you engage a gear, the syncromesh cones place torque on the gearbox and it turns and takes up the slack in the rest of the driveline. If there's play there you will hear it. Yes indeed Scotty. But seeing as some of the "troops" are restless and have a deep desire to draw blood every now and then, I'll assist.... - Price of going quick, $5650 - Cost of going nearly as quick, $some other figure - Road legal and hassle-free motoring - Priceless <--- for the humour impaired Perhaps it's the cosmic winds Scotty. I feel them blowing up my back too. BTW Mick, that was a sensational time and terminal speed. It is an absolute delight to watch your excitement and enthusiasm. Well Done!
