did you replace the boost controller with something aftermarket or did you replace it with a stockie?

Got Edited. Discovered i need...
well a few of you may remember I was having problems with overboost on my ute, well I took it in to C&V performance and they said its probably a software problem with my currnet edit. I was going to do the capa box edit anyways so I told them togo ahead and edit it. so they put it on the dyno and the thing overboosted and spluterred all over the place. it turns out that by removing the rear muffler, the car had been running lean and cooked the spark plugs (hence the gradual decrease in performance) so... with new sparkies in place the car was up and running well, got a total of 240Rwkw at 10psi before the clutch decided to let go as the engine was still going strong. was told that it could go much more. so the guys told me I needed to upgrade the clutch so they had to detune the engine back to 8 psi but they couldnt as it shot back up to 10, problem (boost controler not working) so they had to bypass the boost controller and could only get the car to run at 3 psi. which was safe enough for the clutch and to drive around untill the boost controller was replaced/fixed. so all in all im driving around in a 160rwkw XR6T untill the week after next that is :w00t:

Lane Splitting To Become Illegal
here here I say you shouldnt be able to overtake any car ever while driving(not riding) as this is a dangerous practice ... even when granma is doing 10kph on the freeway. just wait till the gov. has his way with everything we do, we will all be living in houses with padded walls, wearing straight jackets, driving VW beetles, wearing flannel shirts and growing beards. I wonder who will complain then?? just remember all the governoment wants is to have all the population under their watch all the time... can anyone say communism? cos I have a feeling that that's where we are headed if we just keep letting the government do what they want.

Overboost City!
I had a boost leak at the manifold, because of a few loose bolts, these are now tightened and the car feels strong, however its boosting to 10psi constantly when before it was boosting to 5-6psi. problem being in WOT when it reaches 10+psi when cold it cuts out at about 4000rpm and drops boost altogether (sort of like hitting the rev limiter). and after changing gears all is fine again. now the car hasent been edited yet and is going in for the edit and custom tune early in the new year. will it be fine untill then if I drive it sedately or should I be a little more worried.? I also noticed that before this started happening the exhaust tip had a black sooty colour(which may mean it was running rich?) and now it has a light grey colour. does this mean its running lean?

Engine Mounts
well one of my engine mounts gave way last week, and im not one to do things by halves so I ordered both sides to be replaced at the same time. I got a nice little surprise when ford spares asked me for 198 dollars each!! anyways I took the car to my trustworthy mechanic and told him to change them over. the R/H engine mount is a comlete to change.. everything on that side of the engine had to be removed to get to the one bolt that holds the engine mount from the topside.. thigs were removed in order 1.turbo piping 2.heatshied on the exhaust manifold 3.exhaust manifold 4.turbo from exhaust manifold (what a of a job this is very limited space to get to the bolts) 5.turbo removed from dump pipe 6.heatshield removed from engine mount 7. and then finnaly the single solitary friggin bolt that holds the mount in place can be undone once that was out it was a matter of replacing everything in reverse order when we pulled the mount out it was brittle, cracked, and split. the mechanic and I put it down to the heat caused by the turbo and dump pipe had actually cooked the rubber (even though it had its own heatshield) and eventually it gave way, leaving only the "shoestring" to hold it together and eventually the shoe string snapped. the L/H mount was easy as pie, no need to remove anything as the to bolt is easily accesible though the intake mainfold with a long ratchet extention. this mount was in ok condition however it had sagged slightly. so it was also replaced. all in all this little exersise cost me a total of almost $800.. damn there goes the edit money again

Bloke On Bike
by your reasoning cars should be banned off the road because someone managed to run themselves over with their own car. (referring to the video posted a while back)

Tyres Slipping On Rims
mine used to do this with the stock wheel and tyre combo. I put it down to hard shifts into second gear, some times it breaks traction other times you kind of hear a squeek( tyre slipping on rim) but no traction is broken... this ofcourse is in a manual

Nos-sing The T
just interested if it is as easy as doing it to a Naturally aspirated motor or is it different becvause ot the turbo? also how do you go about setting the throttle up with the fly-by-wire, so that it only comes on at WOT?

Steering Shudder Problem
I had this happened in my ute when I bought it, I replaced the powersteering fluid with a synthetic powersteering fluid instead of the mineral fluid ford put in there and havent had a problem since even after lowering it and getting the 19"s
-
Too Low?
well I got to report my ute no longer loks like that.. some F*****t decided to side swipe it today and collect my mirror, dent the drivers side guard, scrape the drivers side door , and scrach my front wheel.. and the fooker kept going.. no numberplate no nuthin :( some ppl should be hung by theyr nuts and theyr throats slit and left to bleed
-
Too Low?
withought weight the guard is just above the tyre. not the best picture I know I got a extra load bearing leaf put in just for this sort of thing. it makes the ride a little harsh when it is empty but its great with a bit of weight in the back and yeah maybe it was touching the bumpstops but it didnt feel harsh at all, it was quite a smooth ride even over speedhumps, I thought it wasnt on them because the suspension still had travel :/
-
Too Low?
haha great guesses guys , I had a total of 20x40kg bags of sand, and 8x20 kg bags of cement=960kgs.. lucky I beefed up the leafs when I got it lowered I wont be doing that in again in a hurry though
-
Too Low?
loaded for work, it still however didnt hit the bumpstops, the drive was rather interesting, trying to dodge every pot hole in the outer sydney. how much weight do you think is in the back?
