  1. its a ute so it doesnt have traction controll I think. and im letting my foot all the way out. the motor just seems to bog down or the clutch just seems to be burning up. on the otherhand it will just lauch and no burnout action to be had
  2. I cant get the car to smoke up in a straight line no matter how hard I try. the clutch seems not to want to bite what am I doing wrong..

I noticed I heard the turbo more?!?!
  4. I picked up DBA slotted rotors for the XR6t and Bendix Ultimate Brake pads rotors $155/side.. pads $150/both sides... discounted from $205 total $460 for the front upgrade installation $0 any monkey with a wrench can do it
  5. well after spotting the (serpentine??) belt was in dire need of attention (falling to bits.) I took the car to my mechanic which fit a new belt for a total of $50, including the belt itself, while trying to diagnose the reason why the belt decided to sh*t itself with only 30 000k's we sourced the belt tentioner bearing as the problem. meanwhile I decided to check the brake and clutch fluid only to find that the clutch fluid resevoir was bone dry!! the clutch still works fine but theres no fluid in the resevoir. my mechanic tells me that the clutch still works fine because there is no air in the system yet, but soon I might not be able to engage gears looks like its going in to the dealer... anyone else hasd this problem?
  6. well im back from the mechanic and he hooked the oil pressure guage for free. *champion* everything is working fine now, thanks to all those that helped
  7. thanx guys. the boost guage is now working, wired up to the dash lighting and to the BOV. Im getting an accurate reading. the oil pressure guage tubing has been fed through to the enginebay(passenger side) but I still cannot see where it is meant to be connected. going to the mechanic today, maybe he will be some help.
  8. yeah for some reason the search function isnt working ATM. the oil pressure guage is a mechanical pressure guage, so it isnt electric. so its illegal to cut the brake servo vaccum line? doesnt matter anyway because im going to use the BOV line.
  9. thanks MkII... white T: yeah only remembered the search option after I posted this thread
  10. ok guys I hope some of you can help me with this.. I bought the pod for the Falcons dash and filled it with a boost guage and a oil pressure guage. my problem is where is the vaccum hose that I plug the T-fitting into. also with the oil pressure guage where do I plug it into?
  11. wall and floor tiler... if anyone needs a good one gimme a call
  12. finally got rid of my 300 000km V8 commodore, and bought a BA XR6T ute. im sure everyone here knows what it looks like but heres a picture of it anyway *edited* ... new pic posted below. hope the pic isnt too big. its a 2003 and it had 24500ks when I picked it up. the brakes were shocking as most of you probably know, and after lurking on this forum for a week or so I decided to scrap the standard rotors and disks in favour of some DBA slotted rotors and Bendix Ultimate pads. im still in the process of bedding the brakes in so illl let you all know how they hold out. im looking at a few upgrades in the future such as exhaust, 20" wheels, a lower job and then a edit.
