What sort of trans cooler did you get?... I know there's another thread on this but seeing as though this one's about auto's as well.... I've looked at the B&M ones and also the Davies Craig ones, just want to get an idea what people are using....

Finally got around to fitting mine this afternoon... Very pleased with results! For under $100 you can't go wrong! It was easy to fit, only took about an hour and unless you really know what to look for you'd never know it's there. Shift is really nice and firm, haven't given it a real bootfull yet but even at low speeds it's great, then flick the switch and it's back to normal! Next stop - the Dragstrip! Big thumbsup!

It's great everyone saying "Custom Tune it..." but for those of us unlucky? enough to live in a capital city that has less than 150000 people, it's a bit of an anticlimax... I don't have access to 15+ Edit tuners, so I have to make do with what's available... I don't really fancy a 3000km drive to Adelaide for a custom tune so I have to wait until someone is able to do it here. We have all the Dyno facilities, but no-one is able to custom tune the Edit software... like I said before, if an Edit tuner is after a holiday (business trip) I'm sure we could make it worthwhile. Until then, I'm willing to try anything to stop it surging!

Sweet... thanx for that! I'll give it a shot tomorrow.... I seem to remember someone saying on here to re gap the plugs, but they didn't give the specs!!! Cheers! If that doesn't work I'll speak to the retailer and try and sort it out there!

Mine's the same! Unfortunately, I live in Darwin... The prospect of getting someone to custom tune the Edit up here is non existant... If any Edit tuners out there are reading and feel like a holiday up North, it's really nice weather up here between May and September, I'm sure I could round up a few Edited cars to tune... call it a 'Business trip'!!!

Mine rattled like crazy - drove me NUTS! I got it up on the hoist and just removed the whole thing. I haven't had any problems with heat, and considering I live in Darwin with 30+ degree ambient temps every day I'm sure it shouldn't be a problem somewhere cooler. All you need to take it off is a couple of 10mm spanners / sockets, side cutters (pliers or wire cutters), a hoist, maybe a pry bar or something similar and a bit of patience! I had to remove the exhaust rubbers to get enough room for the upper part of the shield to come off, but otherwise it was pretty easy! The only time it may get a bit too hot is if you get stuck in traffic - something that luckily hardly exists up here!!!

Mine is lowered, however it was doing it before I got it lowered... Keep us updated on the progress! I'm sure if I took mine to the local Ford dealer they'd come up with some crap that it's only doing it 'cos it's lowered, therefore not covered by warranty...

I loaded the Ute up today for a trip to the dump and the vibration went away??? Seems to be the opposite of what you guys are experiencing with the sedans? weird.... Any ideas?

XXXR6T, I've dowloaded the info sheet you put up there (brilliant BTW!) Just wondering if it's the same for Ute's without Premium Audio? I've managed to get most of the bits together and I'm just about ready to give it a go, however I saw in another of the earlier threads about it that without prem audio there was a reverse in polarity or something??? Can anyone shed some light on this?

I've got the same problem with my Ute (May 03 build)... Between 80-90kmh it has a weird vibration. Can't seem to find the cause?????

Each to their own I spose...I've seen a couple of Yellow Monaro's with black mags that look OK. Never know how it looks until someone tries!

Yeah, I got my edit done yesterday. On cold start, mine idles right up to almost 2500rpm for a few seconds then comes back down to normal... Also haven't had a custom tune yet, hopefully custom tune fixes it!

I got my Edit done today! no custom tune as yet and still using the 8psi map... noticable differance all round, the old Ute is just much better to drive! The main thing I noticed is much more noise from the turbo... you can really feel and hear it when it's 'on' boost, and much more flutter noise from the BOV when backing off! Can't wait until someone up here in sunny Darwin is trained how to custom tune it! Then comes injectors... exhaust etc etc! Might head down to the off street drags tomorrow night and let you know how the heat/humidity affects the performance compared to conditions "down south"

I spoke to a guy today who does the Edit etc... he said that alot of places are actually taking the SS Inductions CAI off, because they are not working as well as the $50 Bunnings home made one... They were actually seeing more of a gain with the standard snorkel and the home made 2nd CAI!! Exactly what turb06 said!

I've also got my 'T Ute lowered fairly significantly.... look's heaps better and handling has improved! Watch out for gutters, parking blocks, driveways etc... My exhaust has already suffered badly, and needs to be replaced! At least I can justify to the missus why I need a new exhaust! Funny that my local dealer isn't real keen on replacing exhaust under warranty......

^^^ Yeah, alright... $150 fine for some ridiculous reason, payable by me... defect notice to follow...LOL, I'm not a traffic nazi, but seeing things like this really p*sses me off! People think that because their darling child pinches someones car and dies in it, the Police are suddenly responsible. Well I for one, won't be the one to call off a pursuit because sweetheart behind the wheel is driving a stolen car. If I don't know who's driving, I'd like to find out... Perfect example from Darwin, just the other night... Police noticed a car driving down a suburban road at about 5am without headlights on... turned around, activated lights etc, vehicle failed to stop... car speeds into another suburban street, Police in pursuit, and stops near a park. The teenage driver jumps out and makes a run for it, officer pursues on foot and catches teenage punk soon after. Teen blows .196% on the breatho and checks reveal car was stolen 15 mins before pursuit.... Now, vehicle and owner are reunited, luckily no damage and teen punk is behind bars. (where he belongs)... Now where would we be if Officer plod (a friend of mine) had called off the Traffic Apprehension because Teen Punk had failed to stop??? One person would be minus a car, if at some stage drunk Teen Punk had crashed into your mum, you'd be minus mum, and we'd all be worse off... Now old mate has his car back, no-one was killed or injured and everyone was happy (except punk).... You make the decison.. you only have ONE second...

Hey guys... can anyone help me out??? I'm living up here in sweaty Darwin, I have a 2003 XR6T ute, Blood Orange, only mods so far is lowered all round and nice dark tint. I really want to add some Kw's, however finding someone capable of doing the job is easier said than done. I have been checking out some of the performance bits on offer over the net... bit hard to go down the local performance shop here! I've been looking at APS, CAPA, NIZPRO, HERROD etc, but no one has a dealer in Darwin. I'm a qualified Mechanic, but lack experience in the custom mapping side of the business (there's only 2 dyno's in town). Can anyone recommend mods that will require minimal custom mapping to get decent results??? I have no problem fitting parts, however I don't really trust the dyno operators in Darwin. I'm heading to Adelaide in Oct, so if I must I'll take it there, but if I can avoid adding the 6000 odd Km's to the Ute, I'll get a plane. Any help would be great!!! Cheers!

Well, I can't agree with u guy's more... if these little sh*ts steal someones car then crash it runnin from the cops, they deserve what they get... Sorry to all the do gooders out there, but imagine how you would feel if it was your pride an joy. I'm a Police Officer, and have read and live by the Pursuit Policy and the Urgent Duty Driving Policy, I see nothing wrong with the way the Officers acted in this instance. They have done their duty and as a result criminals have suffered. At least it wasn't left up to the courts to find them not guilty on some bullsh*t technicality and release them back onto the streets. I might sleep better now knowing my car is safe from these thieves.
