  1. I think the non automatic raising is a safety feature, in that a kid cant get his or her head stuck in the window as it automatically raises !!!!
  2. AAAARRRGGGGHHHHHH... November build sedan... no sockets no hidden plugs, just a tantalising hole where the socket goes into the lower dash BLAST
  3. As a interesting side line.... I thought I was going crazy when I thought the car had more power when TC was off, and thought it only came on when traction was lost, however chatting to the guy that did our 3000 k service , TC altered settings in the puter to limit power, all the time unless manually switched off...mmmmmmmmmmm
  4. Hey turb06... I wouldnt worry too much about the brakes, ours has standard brakes with 4000 on the clock and no troubles yet. If troubles do come, there is warranty, and also its not the sort of thing that is life threatening, the brakes will still work, just shudder a bit.
  5. Or how about a little run up to maleny or some where with a nice mountain road so we can eploit the handling and power on the open road.....(legally of course).
  6. Yep guys, sounds like a good idea... would love to go on a little run, just a pity that we couldnt make it last time. im warming up the digi camera already!!

Well guys, previously I have never owned a ford in my life, and mostly holdens, but test driving the latset offerings from Expensive Daewoo I was underwhelmed. Drove the turbo at the dealers, and was hooked. Just gotta sell all my HSV clothes and hats!!!!!!!
  8. Hey.KTFORD.... we just picked up our acid rush turbo a few weeks ago, and I think it wasthe first in cleveland, but I have since seen an almost identical one driving around too !!! A bit confusing when my wife and the other lady are both blonde.... waved to the wrong person !!!!! Ours doesnt have a mobile phone aerial on the back window. Lately I have also seen a stock acid rush getting around here too. Funny but I think the lighter colours are more popular up here in Qld. I havent seen the blueprint sedan, but I have seen a ute being given some stick around the place. See ya around the traps !
  9. Well guys, it looks like I must be the lucky one around here. once upon a time one saturday, the wife and I went driving SS's to replace the old one, but they didnt grab us, and some of the salesmen were the same, almost as their attitude was "well do you want it or not" and as a last resort went to a ford dealer only cos I promised a friend and ended the day signing up. took two weeks to get the car and the salesman was absolutely spot on, couldnt help us enough and was keen. Might have helped that we ordered a bog stock XR6, but it was a enjoyable experience.
  10. Hi guys... my name is Gary..... would love to make it sunday, but time is a little pressing.. I will try to make it if at all possible. I have banner vinyl here at the workshop if it helps, but I see time is a little short, however I would gladly donate as much as you wish for Have a great day if I dont see you there!

I find my shift is nice quick and smooth.. no problems there at all !!
  12. Do you think a acid rush sedan will fit in... lytton sounds good.... selfish reasons, close to home !!!!
  13. Well for my tyres I prefer either the meguirs tyre shine or any gel type wipe on....they usually give a good long lasting shine and no spatter on the wheels or paint, cos I haaattteeeee that !!!!!
  14. Thanks BAT... I guess some of us are a bit slower than others
  15. Surprise Surprise, they are actually steel!!!!!!! however they are only a coarse threaded screw that simply screws straight into the plastic of the bumper. there seems to be lots of screws to hold the undertray up and one shouldnt worry it too much !!!! Maybe pull another out to compare with a new one from a bolt shop, if its hard to get back to ford. Lotsa luck
  16. Mine is a nov. build as well, and not a problem with it yet.... but I only have a couple of thou. k on it, oh other than a sticky centre console lid
  17. Usually the fabrics are made specifically for the manufacturer, and quite often not released to the public untill the fabric is no longer in use by ford, then if there is an overrun it will be released to the motor trimming trade. Also in the case of seat damage, ford will supply the covers made up, and not the cloth itself, I am led to understand.

I think I have seen this question before, but here goes.... what are the ramifications with regard to warranty, and also, how do you find out from ford ??
  19. whizzer replied to a post in a topic in Member Rides & Builds
Well with my acid rush sedan, there is body colour in the engine bay, but not clear coated!!
  20. C'mon.. what about coming over to the bay side.. the place to be seen

Yep, got a set, then drove through some fresh tar.. stil got spatter up the side of the car but still kept tonnes off too. Plus I reckon they dont look too bad either... nicely shaped and easy to fit
  22. Talking to a police man today (no not pulled up for speeding!!!!!!).... tells me that ford hurriedly recalled their falc (XR running gear and interior.. stock motor) to replace the fuel tank, and he suggested that it was accross the range. Was it a once off... wait and see I guess!!

Hi... with regards to the manual box and drivr train, I have found some snatch in it, however my car seems to be within bearable limits. The reason I went for the manual box is that it seems to connect you closer to how the car is going, and keeps me more involved in the driving experience. the snatch in the drive train is a small price to pay , IMO.
  24. Yep.. wouldn't even consider a ford... walked past the ford stand at the motor show to sign up for a holden.... drove a sv8 and a new ss... underwhelmed to say the least. A neighbour begged me to drive a ford before I bought, so I did to humour him...... after a minute of driving the demo XR6T, the wife and I looked at each other and said.... YEP.. so here I am !!!!!!!!!!
  25. Well how about a motor trimmer / upholsterer / marine trimmer .... I know its not it, so can I still own a XR6????
