  1. News Release 30 mins ago: Race driver Mark Porter died on Sunday after he suffered massive injuries in a crash at Mount Panorama on Friday while preparing for the Bathurst 1000. Porter died at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney after suffering serious head and chest injuries in a 180kph crash with David Clark during a second tier V8 race at the Bathurst 1000 meeting. The Gold Coast based New Zealander leaves behind his wife Adrienne and one-year-old son Flynn.
  2. Great point that..... Jamie's drive was dam brilliant. What a start this guy has had - and all at contract renewal time. Whincup is going to be a name to watch. Congrats to them all - the 888 team are cracking!!!
  3. Aerial shot just on the ABC news - what a mess. Appeared as though a fair bit of Heathcote's lane one guard rail is missing around the 1/4 mile mark, and the jet car was in bits...... the white sheet draped over a stretcher spoke volumes.
  4. From the specs page" "Air intake and outlet flutes designed to allow for efficient cooling of the engine bay - air outlet flute is located at the rear of the bulge"
  5. Ben - when you get time, can you post a link to this megapost please. Cheers!~
  6. Tab - is he coming back?
  7. I could remind you that the Bronco's one, but that seemed to throw you off the track the other night. Poor Shazza and I copped a pizzling.
  8. HEY DARREN.... And the only team Sydney had in a grand final was something that resembles AFL? (Please explain: "I watch about as much AFL as you your read plain english"!!!)
  9. HEY DARREN.... just in case you missed it, one of the best prop forwards Australia has ever seen just finished playing his last game. Stick to aerial ping pong, mate......
  10. THANKYOU SHANE WEBCKE..... JUST BRILLIANT!!!! GO THE MIGHTY BRONCO'S!!! GOLD!!!!
  11. Update. Found this via the Ford site; http://www.newfalcon.com.au Looks like the difference with the BF Series II T is the badge on the boot - that says, yes, wait for it.......... "Series II". Excellent........! That'll crack a big load of excitement, and a rush to dealers doorsteps. New T Photo's are there - if you play spot the difference, you'll go blind.
  12. For those that missed it - last official line from Ford a month ago..... http://ford.com.au/about/newsroom/2006Q3/a...-20060810-1.asp Interesting marketing strategy. A new Expensive Daewoo hits the deck, and the major head to head competitor does one press release in a month. Which University is that one from? Is the story really THAT bad??
  13. LOL. Don't really care Adam, but you're right... wouldn't that be 'noice'. The plan is for this T will go back to the dealer when the new one hits the deck in 08 (?). Amazing the "helpfullness" from some dealers now that the VE has graced us with it's fat A Pillar... Still - will be interesting, won't it.... . Any power increase would be a welcome bonus to those of good faith in the Blue Oval (yes, that was a grovel....). Next task: get used to the Octane Orange. New sunnies ordered.
  14. Like Orrie... just ordered an 6 Sp Seq Octane BFII T with lux pack and lord knows what else - including power pedals for the vertically challenged SWMBO. No dealer info on drive train changes was available as of Friday late... so stay tuned. Still. Zzzzzz. Wake up Ford - it's called drip feed. But 260 would be a nice start! Vehicle delivery will by 3rd week of October.... last T to get me through to the next model. Report and photo's after that....

    Passing Of 05

My favourite memory of Brockie was sitting at the corner near the OBrien "over the hill" dog leg at Oran Park (corner one prior to going on to the main straight) as a young 17 YO whipper snapper, with him in the SLR5000. Brockie - time after time after time - was the only one of the whole field to go over there flat to the boards without lifting off. It was testament to his brilliance. You only had to experience that full house approach - at what was nearing the peak of his career, to know how good he was. It will LONG be remembered. Well done Brockie. Thanks mate. It was great.
  16. From Mark Virtue - a mate of mine in Sydney; his lines posted on the SMH site: "A man with a huge heart, a genuine passion for what he did, an infectious enthusiam for life, a love for the natural world, and no fear of death. He died doing what he loved. If only we all could boast such a life and death. Australia has lost one of its great icons today." Great memories of a true blue aussie.
  17. Dag's wrote: I thought that when moving to the T, that and the horrendous blindspot from the center pillar on the Falcons...and even worse in the ute. Dags - if you think the T has a fat A Pillar - just go sit in a VE.... even found myself moving my head sideways looking around it through intersections..... and these blokes didn't even mention the bright red Fisher Price oil and temp gauges (Quote from Motor that hits it right on the head) and cruise control hidden on the end of the stalk still - instead of safely within reach on the wheel. And they talk about an outdated interior in the XR? Yeah..... right...... You're right guys - this clip is rubbish.
  18. Drove a VE Bogan special last weekend - and still can't get over the size of the A Pillar. It obliterates about 20 degrees of the forward right vision area. It's masssive. Expect to see plenty of VE's in front on blind spot accidents. Funny how important things like this miss reports like the clip mentioned here..... ps - I'm sticking with the Turb!
  19. One finds a great abundance of third party company "distributorships" in PNG... very few big companies going direct. Local ownership appears to have a certain "appeal" in the type of "economy" that exists there. Take a good supply of plain brown paper bags - it sometimes helps to get goods moving off the docks (personal experience). And mind the f#@%$*g spiders.
  20. All - just back from the mighty Chicago, USA..... Ford appear to be getting quite adventurous by their use of graffiti in advertising... get a go at this one on a western suburbs brick wall....
  21. Tx guys. Brian - appreciate your anology of the turbo "doing the work" - just wondering that, if this is a conservative grind, there may be gains in mid range through variation in design in conjunction with exhhaust and IC etc etc. I did read somewhere sometime a couple of years ago that the standard grind of the T cams are fairly reasonable, but have never found any Ford "specs" as such. Anyone know what these are? Thanks for your input - excellent. John
  22. Guys, question on camshafts for the T... Has anyone changed their T's camshaft's spec's? Are the standard factory jobbies as far as we can go for lift / duration etc? Has anyone tried or inquired down this route? Has this been discussed anywhere on the forum previously? Any replies welcome.....
  23. hey Shock - your "problem" between first and second will be the cutout after you redlined it.... goes very quiet doesn't it?
  24. Flared trousers..... I remember that. in this case.... the box doesn't hook up in 3rd - by the sound of it.... Puls - unless there's something whacky going on with your change tables, you have a rebuild coming - so save your pennies and do it right..... as per geea's suggestion.
  25. Hi Shaz - a/ 12th is the Monday I think b/ a really good run is to roll through Toowoomba to the RimFire Winery at McClaggan. Tea, scones, a couple of samples of the grape..... Noice. (At the Winternationals 9, 10, 11th June.... so will be very much in recovery mode....)
