Thinking about which number to get on phoon plates. Can get the car number - ie number 98. Can get the torque rating - ie 550 Can't get power - ie 270. Waddya reckon would look better - I'm leaning towards 550 as that would mean more to people perving on the mean machine as it drives past - but the actual car number would mean more to enthusiasts. Any thoughts?

Coming in a bit late with my p[ost but let me know if you read this Aren't the factory Brembos going to cost you $7000+ as sure they are listed at $5000+ but if you buy them with the car won't they incur the luxury sales tax and go up by 25% - ie about $6250. If this is the case bettter to get the stock brakes, buy the 6 pot AP's and sell the stock Brakes. BTW hands up if you think the Lux sales tax on cars sux the big one.....

Hey why go the Brembos as they cop the full lux car tax and end up at $7500. My thoughts are go with Bowe's AP racing 6 pots for the same price aftermarket. Better brakes same price sounds good to me? How much are the factory 19's - and agin they would get the lux car tax treatment????

Go the F6 - I'm yet to see one on the road. Pleanty of GTs around though. A bit of exclusivity is a good thing. However my main reason is selfish - I'd like to see what you do so I can copy it on mine - that is when the BF arrives in december (fingers crossed).

Non owner question (ie and tossing up between auto and manual) - what is the launch procedure for a quick start in an auto T?

Watch out for Demos- make sure they were at the dealership only. I've written a few car aticles in my time and you don't want to know what the hacks do to them on test weeks.

Well I think the steering wheel is too damm close. You know get a hot chick aboard in the passenger seat and wekk you are likely to get jamed in. Did someone mention that 9 inch ruler? There should be like a "babe" buttonm on the steering that moves the wheel up and away a bit in emergency situations. Just my 2c worth.....the post was going downhill anyways!!!

You may have been lucky Blk6T. I write motoring articles as a hobby and I know that the cars we get to test are sold thru dealers as demo's later on. Motoring writers mistreat cars in many ways. I wouldn't buy one. Of course sometimes you may find the local dealers demo that has only done local trips with a salesman on board. Or you just might get the GTS I had for 25 laps round Qld raceway and skid work etc etc. ET

Hey there, I am also looking for a second hand XR6T - although I'm keen on a fully (factory) optioned sedan. Then I'm going to mod it. I have been searching papers, carsales, News car site, carpoint etc. I have found carsales to have the most by far. The only negative being that the dealer lists dont inc much about the extras - which is what I'm looking for. I've found a nice looking optioned up Black sedan for (less than) $40k - so no one else buy it ok!!! Good luck!

Sixrt - nice posterior!!! I have not gone to CNJ yet but will get a comparitive price just to check. I'm still putting the deal together for the car - lease co doesn't like private sales but they seem to be bending the rules for me so will see.

Has anyone used Bob Romano. I'm considering him for installing a APS Phase 2 and would like some feedback - good or bad?

Two part question for those more knowedgelable than myself. 1. I have found a manual to buy that has all that I want. Ultimately I'll look to upgrade the box and clutch. What I would like to know is if at that time I can upgrade to an aftermarket Auto & Clutch without any other major changes? 2. Has anyone installed APS Phase 2 or 3 with a standard manaual? If so how has it gone, how long until it need replacement etc. I'm thinking of "only" going to Phase 2 for the moment so as to keep some money in reserve in case the box blows........ Thanks to anyone who can help with the above.

What are people paying insurance wise for T's with APS kits 1, 2,3 on them? Just about to buy and kit one and would be real interested in the best deal????
