yeah, thinking about it, we dont get that many Venom's through at work. Mostly Phantoms to be honest.... a few whites and silhouettes as well. They ALL look good after they have been cleaned!!!

Melbourne cup is the 1st Tuesday in November, I think everybody will be on their way home before the horses hit town...... It will make it a little harder, but I dont know how far Flemington is from Geelong? maybe some victorians can enlighten me......

it all depends on how strictly controlled the dyno's are I guess. im sure people would have been using c12 or c16 if they thought they could get away with it..... How strict were the dyno judges? I wouldnt do it personally, that way I know all my runs are honest. It sucks when you get beaten by a cheat though!

ms700, they look great. As said, it must be costing a packet. Once you have got them fitted, just remember to post some pics. Just out of curiosity, with having such a premium brake setup, would they require to be heated up well before utilising there optimum stopping power. how much exactly did you pay total for these gigantic stoppers? I will ask the guy im getting all this stuff off next time I am talking to him, im not exactly sure if he sells direct to the public. I just dont want to say "this kit will cost everyone X amount" and for you guys to get burnt and/or ripped off. Then you will all hate me and ill never be invited on cruises! :tears:

Define "yuppie" and I will tell you if it is or not! It does look and sound good. No matter where you are, in the middle of Sydney or Melbourne or wherever, if you tell it to get you to your home the fastest way, it will. Or find you the closest servo. Or closest shopping centre. Or closest hospital. It has done nothing but impress me and all people that have borrowed my car. Wherever I am, I can input any address or any point of interest, for example, novotel darling harbour or mcg, and it takes me there exactly, tells me how far to go, eta, redirects me if I miss a turn, shows me all the servo's on the way, blah blah blah...

I have sat nav and its the best 5K (I think?) ive ever spent. I drive up to sydney a lot and it is absolutely priceless in there. Dont use it much around town as I know my way around my town reasonably well. Depends on how much interstate driving you will be doing and if you have a good navigator handy! BTW you cant have sat nav without premium audio.

htey are not priced up yet, you cant actually buy the whole seat, you have to "build it yourself". And it aint gonna be cheap I can tell you!!!! It would be a whole lot cheaper to put top of the line recaro's in, believe me. We ordered some Celica seats the other day, cost just over 7k each!

turbo6, have you been "hard" on your gearbox would you say? I know it would be hard not to be after the mod that you have done! I have a lot of time for you and ian, not worrying about warranty all that much, and just having a good time in your turbo's. I think that's what its all about, fun and enjoyment.

Yeah, probably. But id say with 6 piston calipers the braking force will be enough to stop it if the rotors are still cold. The importer I bought them off knew it was a street car with occasional track work. Plus, it will look good! And that's all that's important! :lol:

PEOPLE make sure you wax your bonnet and pull them ribbons real tight, my mate has a black IS200, and he did a wedding, and his ribbons flapped about and scratched his bonnet. :tears:

The Brembo pads are around $2400 to replace, I know for sure the fronts are around $1200. Why are they so expensive? Brembo! Pay for the name! There are not many more manufacturers out there that are better than Brembo. My AP Pads are $330 BTW.

I am currently fitting AP Racing 6 piston calipers and 2 piece AP 362mm rotors to my car, having trouble with the mounting bells for the rotors to bolt to the hubs. Will post pics when finished. Here is a picture of my calipers showing 3 of the 6 pistons. That is a 30cm ruler BTW.

I use the Meguiars Rich Leather Wipes; it smells real good, looks fantastic, but has made my seats a tiny bit squeaky! And its NOT cause of whats going on in the back seat (I wish)!!! :lol:

I work at a dealership and I can tell you now, it aint just the Ford dealerships giving the XR6T's a hard time on test drives...... You take anything in; XR8, WRX, GT4 Celica, S2000 anything that's not normal, it will get a strapping. Find me a mechanic who hasnt given any fast car a hard time....... Every mechanic I know has and does on a regular basis. that's why my XR6T or anything else I own doesnt go for a test drive without me.

Im in! Me and mrs MS700 will be coming along. Unfortunately we wont be able to do the GOR trip, my busiest day is Saturday at my second job, and I had to make promises I cant keep for the cruise in September! We will be travelling down on Thursday, and most probably drive back Friday night. Not 100% sure on that one yet. If we do stay Friday night, we can organise our own accommodation for that night. So definite 2 people/1 car/1 nights accommodation Thursday. Book me in!

Turbo6 and everyone else who has been boosted, is the turbo/wastegate "flutter" louder now? Id be assuming yes, because your turbo is now making more boost?

As for brakes, I am dropping my car off at Neal Bates' tomorrow, and picking it up on Monday night! I cant wait! And neither can my visa card! :lol:
