  1. 2004 XR8. Just got it a few weeks ago. I sometimes think to myself I should have got the T but overall I'm pretty happy with it.

  3. Around $815 per month but for a BA XR8. Over 5 years, no residual, 22 years old and no credit rating.
  4. Hi guys, I was actually the friend from the coast they had just been visiting. I can tell you that both are very nice guys and I can guarentee that they would have done nothing to provoke such an action. They are very good drivers and very conservative people.
  5. I have been in both and I was so excited to get a ride in the turbo but came away disapointed. It accelerated very well but it felt totally unexciting, I can only guess due to the flat torque curve which causes it to accelerate the same at 2000rpm as at 5000rpm. So in this sense it didn't feel like acceleration, just increasing of speed. Does that make any sense? It was a brand new car so perhaps this has something to do with it. The 8 on the other hand felt faster and more inspiring, and I am a import turbo fan. Has anyone else felt the same as this? Having said this I was also disappointed with the VYII Clubsport I went in. The most inspiring car I have ever been in is a fairly stock 20B Cosmo (Twin Turbo, Triple Rotor Rotary). P.s. I am not downing the T, I plan on getting one as soon as I can afford one.
  6. I would be demanding they get an independant expert to now go through your engine with a fine tooth comb to ensure nothing has been damaged (at Fords expense), and then replace anything that has been harmed.
  7. Hey -jep, I just got back right now from Willowbank raceway. Saw a few T's out there, Not enough though :D . The best ran a 12. Sounded not too shabby. I'll have to start heading out to more meets like this to get my fix.
  8. Yeah seen those vids. Can't hear them properly (other cars etc). This could be a real good thread. we could have a competition to see who has the best sounding T, and who can video themselves going from 0-100 the quickest (legally of course).
  9. Hi all, I'm fairly new to this site and was wondering if anybody has sound or video files of their XR6T accelerating. I have done a search and couldn't find any. I have found some LS1's on ls1.com and they help pass the agonsing time of being a uni student with little money. Cheers
  10. Chose the GTR from the List. (hopefully 2000 means R34). Other Dream rides include Ferrari 360 Modena, 911 Turbo, E55 or RS6 Avant :D
  11. -Jep, This is probably a stupid question but how did you get the buttons and open programs on the tool/task bar to be round like that? Cheers
  12. Ouch... I thought 30 K's over and it was an instant loss of licence. Were part of the demerits due to racing or all for speeding? Makes you wonder whether the trafic light duels are worth the fun
  13. I think the article your refering too is the comparison by Motor between the XR6T, SS and XR8 utes, all with auto's. Its the March 2004 edition. They concluded the XR6T to be the winner by "some considerable margin"
  14. I think it is best to go in both cars before you beat yourself up over the decision. Yesterday my dad and I went and test drove both an XR6 Turbo and XR8 and found them both to be different than we expected. The XR6 Turbo didn't seem like a turbo apart from the whistle. There is no turbo rush which I found disapointing, just deceptive acceleration. I was under the impression the 8 was very slow down low with its tall gearing and torque peak high in the rev range, however it gave a bigger kick I feel than the turbo and found it more inspiring, even though it was most likely slower, it didn't feel it. Just my two cents.
