  1. lol no one has a cross over anymore, I`ve often wondered about colouring it. maybe the colour the engine bay is and get another rocker cover and do that Mercury Silver. I`ll polish some stuff in there one day.
  2. lol, tollie? I`d consider Sucrogen E85 at $2.50 a litre if I was going to buy bulk and even then I`d prolly buy 40 litres and not 200l.
  3. ever had 44`s of fuel at your house? We did years ago, they go POOOONK in the middle of the night when they are half empty and contract with the cooler air and ppl complain. I`d rather leave it at the servo where its safer than my house. that's just me though..
  4. I`ve got to agree with this, with my car its going to be one or the other. But it`s not my daily, its our good car / Dad`s toy. As I`ve stated elsewhere, Kyle 6Boost mentioned it everytime we discussed what I was having done to my car. I figured if it was in Kyle`s words, a hundred bucks or so to add an E85 tune then yeah why not? I may never use it or use it once.. It itched at me to try it, that's what I`m doing now. So far, it`s awesome. it`s not going to suit everyone due to locality, availabilty and a few other reasons. Why did I drain the petrol and fill with E85? that's simple, it has 57 more horsepower and I wanted to check it out Really the power factor is why your reading this now, isn`t it???
  5. Man, I felt hollow in the guts just reading that. best of luck mate.
  6. lol I had an image of some shady character hovering near the Eflex bowser: " pssst.. hey bud, c`mere.. "

Brakes. Then Bilsteins - Kings - Whitelines. then go back to engine mods.
  8. I`m not sure how the trip computer deals with the E85. Also they are none to accurate I don`t think although the one in my atmo BF ute seems pretty close. lol at the moment here in SE QLD economy is easy as it will not stop pissing rain. But I will admit I do try to get good mileage when I do longer trips. I noticed my economy didn`t alter or perhaps got better on the M1 with my new tune and mods with petrol. The way I see it on E85 its still no worse and in most cases better than an LS1 or similar V8 that has half the power using petrol. My car has minimal mods really, and yet it has as much power as I will ever need. Using E85 has helped in that regard. Slightly off topic, but I`ve been around this scene for a while and I have never ever heard a bad word about Mick @ Pitlane and he`s always answer any questions I`ve asked him via PM even though he knows I`m 1600 klm away and isn`t likely to get any business from me.
  9. I`ll weigh in. I have a standard Process West Surge tank, single pump and no check valve - anti drain back. It winds over a second or 2 longer before it starts when cold but generally about the same once its warm. I thought it would piss me off but it doesn`t. Much. I have stock fuel rail and reg. So set up costs for me were really, nil depending on how you wanna look at it. I wanted a surge tank anyway but to be sure I beleive you do need one. If nothing else it makes draining you fuel tank easier. As the Op states, the car runs beautifully and due to the added timing allowed and its just frickin` awesome to drive even when you`re not humilating some schmuck in a GTS. It smells noice and no soot in ya tailpipe. its obviously not for everyone. Not all the time. Though it could be if that makes sense. You need to talk to people and do some research which I bet you will do if you are sitting at a computer reading this now. It`s interesting. It`s different. It allowed my car to make 57 more horsepower which is a very noticeable gain I might tell you.
  10. I`m guessing you`d need a really loose converter, a huge amount of power, maybe no VCT and an accelerator pedal stuck to the floor to get 250 - 290 per tank. But let`s face it you can get through a lot of BP 98 if you really want too. Couple other things, you can buy a tester gizmo ( 6Boost Kyle has one, I suspect he`s a gadjet person ) for a hundred bucks or so? As I said I have the beakers and big test tubes on hand and they cost 60 odd dollars each. I reckon the tester thing would be better value and less fvck arsing around. Jamie tuned my car with pump E85.. Which means there`s a bit more timing in it but not as much as it could have if it had Sucrogen V8 Supercar E85 in it. My car had Bosch 42 lb injectors, it now has 6Boost hi flow injectors which seem awesome. best to contact 6Boost about those. So it would be hoped that even if I bought some really slack arsed E85 there`s rnough margin for it in there and my knock sensors will even it out. My plan is to buy the fuel from the same place. Which I somewhat pedantically did anyway with BP 98. But how I use my car allows me to do that. It`s not my daily.
  11. I`ve done 250 or so on half and refilled. that's with several big bootfulls of throttle applied. Computer was saying 450 or there abouts range on refilling.
  12. I could look at that, but a stock style filter is $20? I`d buy 2 a year tops. Mine was real poofter bastard of a thing to get off too. I ended up with my brother holding the filter with a big shifter and I reached over from the other side of the car underneath with vise grips and SSHHHHTACK! took a lot of force to break the grip it had. It was spotlessly clean and I even polished the threads with a lil wire brush and sprayed cricket piss on them and left it while I went to buy filters..
  13. I had planned on changing the fuel filter with every future oil change. I bought 2 fuel filters and changed what was probably the original filter ( 60,000 klm lotsa black cack came out ) and I`ll change it again when I change the oil soon and assess it all then. My plan is too run E85 all the time at this stage so I`ll report back what I find. What`s Micks thoughts on it? I`d be interested to hear what he says, anyone who doesn`t respect his opinion would be a dead set goose. PULP has a limited shelf life compared to the old leaded petrol. From what I`ve read I`m wondering if E85 could be any worse and in some cases should be better. In the coming weeks and months we shall find out. :D My car runs and drives really well on it.
  14. I`d say it exceeds all expectations, Jamie. I can`t speak highly enough of the service I recieved. Both Kyle and yourself couldn`t have been more accomodating during my cars stay in Toowoomba nor more helpfull after I brought it home. To get the increase I got for the amount spent was tremendous. For anyone looking to test E85 I got some good info here http://iqlearningsystems.com/ethanol/racers.html I fortunately I had the test tubes and beakers on hand as I do similar testing for silt content in washed sand at work.
  15. Jump on the band wagon, Eddie! Ahhhhhhhhhh I dunno.. I got half day tomo. I might. Everyone`s car is filthy so why not?? yes I know, its hard to beleive my car got dirty, but it`s true.
  16. It`It`s fully about to monsoon here in west. My car looks like a Murgon Mustang, it`s filthy.. :(
  17. Wednesday 29th of December maybe? I won`t hold my breath for good weather. I gotta work next week too doing an absolute douche hole of a job too so I may or may be arsed going yet. If I can get away clean from work, yay but if I am flailing away for 12 hours? Ah.. nuh..
  18. Engine mount? Pop the bonnet, put it in drive and stall it up a bit. If the mounts cactus the motor will seem like its gonna fold out over mudguard. Atleast eliminate that.
  19. If hope did any good I`d have been out at Willowbank tonight, lol..
  20. It`ll be pissing rain, Eddie..
  21. If I wasn`t certain its gonna piss rain I`d be bolting my E/T`s on right miaow! for tomorrow night T&T... I`m hoping for 29th December but I won`t hold my breath.
  22. Timing is what I want to discuss with my tuner, Jamie. You can feel it, I mean its stout enough with 368 rwkw on 98 and it does have a significant 43 kw more ( 411 ) on E and you`re gonna feel that but cripes does it rip up hard!. What it used to do first - second it now does second - third. I was stunned the first time, the way it just made that really expensive SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRK! noise in third like tearing 50 dollar notes up. They`re only new Falken 452`s as well, I gotta watch that sh!t... But for sure, it`s way sharper on E85 so I`m agreeing with you, it has to be the added timing.
  23. After a hellish 11 hour day at the salt mine. Err.. sand mine. I mowed the yard, put all my tools away ( had the handle come off my tool box, lol it 50 kg.. ) had a shower and decided to go for a drive road spin. Spin.. yeah.. It was showing 19C on my ICC which is nice I had a few prods of the pedal and goodness me.. Car needs wider tyres. It goes like, I dunno like a 1000cc sports bike. It`s mental. But it also runs really really nicely. Like in all driving conditions. So for performance I give the E85 and E85 tune of course, top marks. For all conditons driving niceness I give it equal billing. early days though, so far yeah I like it.
  24. On top of what I already had in the car regardless of running E85 or not, it cost me a hundred bucks maybe to add the E85 tune. I don`t like gas much personally, the bottle is intrusive for me and my car. I fully ackowledge what can be done with it though. It`s just not for me. Not right now anyway.
