  1. Genuine from Ford are about $450!!! I got an aftermarket one for $90 from a ford member on another site - pm if you want to know more. I only replaced my first one (I have a BF) as I will get the second one turned off when I get it tuned. Has made only a very small difference to my economy but I think that's more because the second one is giving all the funny readings due to the high flow cat. Once I get it tuned I would expect my economy will be better Cheers Phil
  2. Excellent to hear mate, im using achilles atm more so due to the cheapness and the fact they are 400 treadwear rated. They are ok in the wet as long as you right foot isnt applied when you go around a corner or roundabout lol
  3. yeah true mate but not every part is perfect and won't fail. Guess he was just unlucky, at least they are doing the work under warranty
  4. lol thanks mate
  5. I am running the archilles atr sport in 245/35/19 after I went through a set of Z1s in a tad over 20,000km (this was down to the point of bald and actually showing the belt in some parts). The archilles were only $150 each and with a 400 treadwear rating I thought brilliant!! I will get much more use out of them, I am about a mm or 2 from the treadwear indicators and I have done 21,000km so far plus the traction they give is actually pretty decent. I would most likely use these again even though people have said they have weak sidewalls if they pop that's a manufacturer defect and then get a new set under warranty :-) might not ever have to buy new tyres again lol
  6. One thing I will say I find conflicting is the time it takes them to reply to an email, I still havnt heard anything and we are going on 4 days now. When I emailed Intune John replied back to me within 2 hours and this was after 5pm as well on the same day. I guess you can put a spin on both sides of the story - they are too busy to reply and being too busy must mean they are really good etc. Anyways I am in no rush but a relatively quick reply is always appreciated Cheers Phil
  7. so all sorted now mate?? or were they going to take a while to get the diff in?
  8. is anyone else blown away by the size of the turbo!!! holy hell that thing would suck small children up!
  9. Thanks for the feedback mate, I dont mind the money so much especially if it means getting a better tune/service and I have generally found when it comes to car mods you get what you pay for. I am still waiting for them to email me back so I will see what they have to say, I think ill pop down there one weekend as well and watch how they do it all
  10. Thanks mate, I checked out their website, wow their facilities look so good and advanced, I have sent them an email so see what Jim comes back with
  11. Thanks mate, I did just read the thread about what happened to cccc - :-( So many conflicting opinions about the various tuners - its so hard to make a decision
  12. Thanks guys, I am only running a N/A though, any thoughts on Autotech? I hear lots about them, CV I heard dont have very good custom service :-(
  13. hey mate How did you go with the service? I am in the exact same boat as you were? Cheers Phil
  14. Ahhh very interesting mate, good thing I just pmed Pat and asked him about it all :-) Cheers Phil
  15. I removed mine when I fitted an aftermarket GT bonnet, the cabin is a bit noisier now and I can hear the extractors more but as someone said we mostly trying to make our cars louder so go for it. Plus with the stereo up you dont notice it anyways. Hasnt affected the paint or GT bulge stripes and my extractors are unshielded so my engine bay temp is probably quite high and hence so is the bonnet but all ok :-)
  16. hey guys What do you all think of Intune Motorsport? I have searched the forum and read mixed reviews, albeit alot of them are 2-5 years old so no doubtly alot has changed since the "blowing up of engines" was mentioned. I have spoken to John and he certainly seems to know his stuff. I only plan on doing one custom tune so I want THE BEST there is regardless of price as I want the most power out of my car. Most appreciate the advice Cheers Phil
  17. Hi mate I recently replaced my entire zorst from headers to tip, I have an 2006 BF sedan and its got the dual o2 sensors. You are correct in that there will be an issue, the check engine light will come on the dash if you plug the sensor straight back in. The zorst shop I went to has an adapater for the second sensor which has stopped the light coming on for me ( I did heaps of research around this before getting it done) I asked him further about it when he was fitting the system and he said its actually an idea hurricane (the brand of my entire system) came up with, basically its a piece of short piping which you screw into the side of the cat (where the sensor would normal go) and then plug the sensor into that pipe, that way its only sensing the air that's in the little pipe and not actually in the cat where it is moving at a faster speed and would cause an error. Its interesting you mentioned fuel economy fifty one because mine has gone up since fitting the entire system (although only by half a litre and I have been giving it to the car heaps just to enjoy the sweet sound it makes) I am going to fit CAI to it next and eventually get a tune which will help me get more power and also the fuel economy. My zorst guy said when you get the tune just remove the adapter and plug the sensor straight back in and tune the error out (I will probably just leave it though as it doesnt cause any issues at the moment). I will try and take a pic later tonight and post it up so you can see what I mean. I actually got him to straigten the adapter because when he first installed it was angled down and was the lowest point of the car and was scraping on my driveway, but its all good now Oh yeah when I mean I got my entire system done I got extractors onto a hi flow 200CPI cat and then hooked up to straight through mufflers all through 2.5inch piping so there is no bottle neck anywhere, he actually installed the same system on his FG XR6 ute and used the adapter and didnt have a problem with it. I used dapto mufflers - Mufflers Dapto - Dapto Mufflers - Dapto Exhaust Wollongong Extractors Dapto I got some pics of this adapter that hurricane came up with and my exhaust guy made up. sorry its so close up, my car is quite low to the ground and this was on my phone. you will see the CAT on the left. That bar at the bottom of the screen is just a bracket which would fit for the BA but mine is a BF so there is no where for it go. Another one with more of the sensor visible.
  18. Hi All Well last night someone cut the corner I was waiting to turn out of and has scratched my front bar (at the time I didnt know we had actually hit as it just looked VERY close) anyways the front bar corner has been scratched up a bit but not dents (thank god) anyways I just need the front bar resprayed which it really needed anyways due to all the stone chips, does anyone know of a good spray shop in the North West part of Sydney and also how much it would cost, I am thinking around the $300-$400 mark?? Most appreciate the help guys Cheers Phil
  19. Kit is working much better now its installed correctly. took quite a bit of time to get the adjustment right but its down pretty low and not in peoples eyes but I do suffer a bit less light on the road as its quite close in front of me now, not to bad though, for some reason though I have this random bit of light coming from the right headlight - it lights up the other side of the road it juts out that much - I have circled in red the bit im talking about - as you can see the rest of the beam is fine. any ideas on what it could be - also thanks Steve for answering the many phone calls and questions I had Cheers Phil

  23. have only just installed HID in my BF Falcon (got the kit off Steve above - 55w 6000k Bi Xenon H4)and trying to get the adjustment right - is damn hard - knowing what I know now I probably wouldnt have gone to HID without a projector headlight which they dont make for the b series, the spread on the road is pretty sh!t so im glad I didnt get the 8000k because then there would have been even less light on the road, the other issue is the light flickers something cronic going over bumps - drives me friggin insane, I think the issue is the bulb is so much bigger and heavier than halogen that when you go over a bump the whole reflector moves and consequently the light flickers, I did original have issues with the metal clip not securing in both places although re did it today and got both sides clipped in. The real test will be tonight although im not convinved it will be that great so hopefully I can flog the kit off for close to what I paid. Moral of the story is - only use HID if you got a projector headlight

  25. Ok figured it out - might want to post this someone for future reference There are 2 knobs on each headlight The knob that is higher than the other one which is also pretty much behind you low beam globe adjusts the up and down of the headlight reflector. The other knob behind the high beam must do left and right although I have not moved this one yet so I am only speculating here - if anyone can confirm then go for it. If you are facing the car and working on the driver side headlight then turning the knob towards the engine will make the light go up, turning it away (left) from the engine will make the light go down. Same applies for the passenger side, but is reversed, turning the knob away from the engine will make the reflector go up and turning the knob towards the engine will make it go down. The easiest way to tell is if there is alot of thread showing on the knob then the reflector is pointing up wards. If there isnt much thread showing on the knob then the reflector is pointing down. Hope this clears things up for anyone who is trying to get the headlights adjusted. Cheers Phil
