Funny you should say that. My second set of wheels had a buckle in a F6 wheel which had to be rerolled. Went a whole new set of rims and better tyres. But my vibration isn't as bad a a unbalanced or buckled wheel though. Had the ZF serviced at 100,000 and it seemed to make a small improvement. By your symptoms if it's only just started I would say get wheels balanced and aligned. Quick and easy to rule out and start from there.

My FG is the same. 3 sets of rims, 4 sets of tyres and replaced brakes with new Brembo calipers disc and pads. Superpro diff bushes and still persists. Mechanics and tyre fitters don't seem to pick it up. Thinking of trying new gearbox and engine mounts.

Yeah I'm thinking that I should do the tune too. When I bought it 3and a half years ago I fitted 6pot Brembos IC and pipes straightaway but never got around to doing the tune. Just haven't had the time but now at 135km when Its due for plugs and probably a injector service it's probably money better spend on new injectors tune and plugs. How long do the stock coils usually last 150km? I normally change the lot when 1 fails for peace of mind.

Hi guys My FG XR6T currently has 130000kms on her and the plugs and coils have never been changed. I'm thinking of replacing the plugs with Iridium twin tip plugs and genuine Ford coils. Can anyone advise me from their experience any pros or cons. I tried searching but nothing comes up. PS I have Herrod pipes and Intake with PWR cooler but not running a tune.

It's easy to install. Take the top off the ICC and you will see the module. It's slides onto the back of the ICC. Undo the screws I think it's 2 on top and 2 on bottom. Slide out and swap the module over. Just be careful with the ICC plug when reinserting it. I think Ford will still have to match the new module to your car. About $80

How hard would it be to change the plastic bit over? I have heard that they are VIN locked. Will need to be installed by the dealer as you won't be able to start the car if you fit it yourself.

I installed the CA kit and never had any issues with the iphone5. I bought the whole kit but the modules popup on ebay from time to time. Do any of the FG MK2 non FPV wheels fit over the the 6 pot Brembos on FG. Currently I have 19x8 ROH Mantis black with machined lip which clear them and these are also available in shadow chrome.

Don't get too fixated on Dyno numbers. You get happy dynos and sad ones. Only way to get a true gauge is to take it to the strip and look at your time and mph and shows how goodan overall tune is. Tuner once told me rims makes a big difference too. Because 20 have a larger rolling diameter to 19s and smaller rims you will get your numbers if you take your 20s off simply through the gearing change. Was proven years ago with VT-VZ but im not 100% sure FGs and VE have the same issue.

I hired a car and drive it from Bristol to Heathrow. I didn't require a permit or have one. Just used my WA drivers License and all was ok but that was is 2007. Recently I hired a car in Hawaii from Avis with a WA license and they said the International permit was not required. The guy just asked me if I knew what side of the road to drive on. Check with the rental company for their policy when your making a booking or get a permit for peace of mind. Just don't leave in in Australia like I did.

Just to update, since the new battery went in I have been having no more electrical issues. The AC system was checked and turns out the inter cooler had rubbed through the condenser creating a small hole. After a new condenser was installed and regas all is good.

Just went to the sparkles. He tested the battery and said it was borderline but ok. I told him the problems ive been having and he seems to think that if I'm having these issues while driving its likely to be something else. I decided to replace the battery anyway because its a good place to start. The AC is now making the vacuum cycling noises it was before but it still doesn't seem cold. Its almost likes its trying to charge up but cant. Hopefully the other electrical issues will disappear and maybe I just need gas.

Hi everyone, My FG is starting to do random things. At first didn't think too much of it but jumped into the car and the time Was wrong. Wasn't 0:00 but was like 10:43 or something random so it reset then started ticking over again. Later on drive home which was a 2hr country drive I noticed something coming out of the vent like dust or its so turned it off. After a couple of short drives the ac didn't sound right and I noticed it wasn't very cold. Now the wife rings me and says the car is showing DSC failure lights and heard a pop. Can't describe it but It was there so pulls over and rings me. Turns cars the car off and back on all good. When she gets home I plug in a code scanner. Nothing , no codes logged. Last night driving through a round about the stereo volume starts to increase on its own. It got fairly loud as we both thought that the other person was turning it up. The AC is clearly not working because when you switch it on there is not click and the revs stay the same. And it doesn't demise the windscreen on cold. So I start checking all the fuses in the drivers side and under the bonnet and they are also good. Does the AC have its own fuse in the ICC or another place. During the last service I had the aircon anti bacterial done so I'm hoping its just a fuse or it wasn't plugged in properly as all the above issues have a button on the ICC. Has anyone had a similar experience or have any advice.

Has anyone cracked this problem yet. I have tried 2 different adapters. One is like the above one and the other is a cable with no joy. Not genuine apple though. Phone just plays out of its loud speaker but appears to charge. Easiest fix might be to go back to the 4 but I can't see anyone wanting to do that.

Can anyone confirm which intercoolers are compatable with these kits yet? I have a Herrod kit coming and will be looking for a new cooler in 3 months when my FG is out of warranty. Thinking PWR stepped or PW but happy with anything decent with minimal cutting.

Wenier that's good thinking with the fluid flush right through. Unfortunately it looks like I have been beaten by a 5c part today so its off until tomorrow. Ironically the washers for the braided lines are too thin or the bolt is about 2mm too long. Anyway had a mock fitup and everything fits well. Wheels clearances are good and now have all the tread lock 2 bottles of brake fluid so tomorrow should be much more successful.

Hi everyone, tomorrow Im planing on fitting some new 6pot Brembos to the front of my FG. I have replaced the wheels for 19" F6 wheels for brake clearance and the the discs, pads, rotors and braided lines are all brand new. I will be doing the 4pot rears in a month or so does anyone know if fitting the fronts only to a sedan would cause any problems before the rear upgrade. ie brake balance or stability control issues etc. In my searches I couldn't find any detailed advice or fitting instructions so was wondering if anyone who has done this upgrade could give me some pointers on things to watch out for. You know the ones I mean stuff that always shows up at 6pm on a sunday night like a wrong washer something. Thanks in advance.

FG_G6E You seem to know a bit about this. Do you work in spare parts or something? The module I have is 8R2919C142A not 8R2Z19C142BA like you suggest. Do you know if this would work with a different harness? If this was the case even then buying a new kit with a pocket and iPod cable may be waste. Was told this kit was out of a early 2010 but the module says 5/2008 so I guess I've probably been duped.

I think the 2010 update model may have received this as part of the upgrade aswell as 6speed for n/a models and some other extras. Mine is a 2009 ex WA police so the only options are the extra airbags and towbar. My wifes brothers 2010 doesn't have one either. After work breaks up for Christmas I will go down to spare parts and hopefully they could give me some ideas. Im hoping its just a new 12v socket but who knows. I am surprised that no one has done this yet.

Hi everyone, Currently I am in the process of installing the factory FG Ipod kit. I've had a search and couldn't find anything specific on how to do this. With the kit I have 4 parts. 1) Ipod cable 2) Audio module 3) leather pocket 4) Ford wiring harness.8R29-14C575-AB At first glance it appears as though the harness is a replacement for the current one fitted to the car. The problem is that I cannot find a 12v power socket plug next to the AUX. There is however a completely different square plug which may be for this. Does anyone know if this is the right harness for a sedan or do I just need a different power plug or extra part? Has anyone that has done this mod still have the instructions ?

I have owned former police cars which have proberly been the better cars we have owned, However for me to buy 1: 1) I must be able to drive it. 2) must be clean and good condition. 3) must be the right money. 4) perfect service history Also some of the country ones seem to be better because its only the same couple of officers drive them and there a far fewer curbs and medium strips ready to jump out infront them. So a clean one of those is usually ok. The service books usually tell you where the car has been. Also thanks for moving this into the right section. Not sure if the clock on top were the guages usually go might be a premium sound freebie.

Anyway, I have started a search for a BF II XR6T. Quite like them in white so stopped past a dealer on the way home to have a look at 1 which is the same as 1 I want to lok at tomorrow but thought to myself 30000 for 65km is a bit steep so wont be this 1. Looking at this car you can tell its a chaser just because you can see the Police logo on the door still and some small sticky patches were the markings were and still needed a buff. Anyway this thing was garbage. Just look rough on first glance and looked more like an 03 not an 07 model. Had faded paint with no shine. A rip in the passenger seat didn't help first impressions either. When this car would be cleaned up you proberly wouldn't be able to tell of its former life until you looked in the book for first owner so was just wondering if there are ways of spotting former chaser cars. Its really easy with the ss commodores which have a few changes. Traction control removed which is standard feature as well as all black dash and not the silver trims. Again a standard feature and the interior light mod. But all these falcons look the same to me. Only thing I can tell is the some BFs have a clock and others dont. The reason I want a BF is the better brakes which are equivelent to BA premium. 6speed auto and the motor upgrade with better looking front bar. Is there any other differences I should know. I've tried searching but its hard to find anything that's definative. Plus im coming over from the lion and probably trading in my VX LS1 berlina wagon.
