  1. Thanks xrturb,I live in Kellyville so that suits me perfectly.Have you had any experiences with them and the edit? Some feedback would be appreciated. Peter
  2. They are within a few dollars of eachother from what I could find. Peter
  3. Is there anything you don't know Macka? Thanks heaps,I will choose the one that looks the prettiest and find a dealer in Sydney. Peter
  4. I did some googleing and come up with 3 different badged edit options.I would like to find out the differences between them.Is it purely cosmetic or are there actual variations between them.Purely technical and not personal preference to assist me in making my decision. Thanks Pics attached flasher.bmp
  5. Macka Ask this programming guy why it took so long to overcome the surgeing problems so many have had. They still haven't got it right so if they can't even fix a minor issue how on earth will they overcome the edit.ST is right,it's smoke and mirrors. You have to crawl before you can walk. Peter
  6. I guess that means I have to live with surgeing, rotten idle quality, inconsistent power delivery, stalling etc etc. Thanks for the replies. Peter
  7. From my understanding, after rading it about 1000 times in other threads, is that before you do anything with the flasher unit you have to upload the factory map into the flasher. It would be a lot cheaper, easier and more logical to plug the flasher in and download the factory map back into the ECU rather then changing ECUs!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I understand all that process about flashing the factory map back etc, however my objective is to maintain warranty cause I have no intention to mod my car.The problem is that once the factory program gets downloaded the first time apparently it cannot be updated by Ford to a later version from what I read in the capa threads. This will tell the tech that the car has been edited as soon as they attempt to flash an update it will not register on the ecu.I may have misunderstood what was stated. "quote" My understanding is different. As far as I'm aware, the flashbox will only upload what's in the car when the "F" slot is empty. Therefore, it does not look for updates. I think the only way around this is to have the F slot cleared (by CAPA??) and you can only do this 5 times before the flashbox takes a trip overseas. CAPA, Martin, please correct me if I have misunderstood. This fact that the original version of the factory tune will remain in the flasher will be a giveaway is the reason for my question about the second ecu.I hope this makes sense. Peter
  8. I was thinking about this new edit tool and the lack of solid answers as to whether or not Ford can detect it.My solution would be to purchase another computer and use it primarily for edit custom tuning etc and when time comes for servicing by Ford I could slot the original one back for updates etc, and would not be affected by warranty. Before someone has a go at me for being dishonest to my loyal dealer(sarcastic) I could take up 4 pages of negative comments about the way Ford has treated me so far. All I am after is a car that runs the way it should in the first place and it seems that the edit is my only hope. Could someone please advise if using another ecu is possible?Something is telling me that this angle has been covered by Ford. Peter
  9. Try East Coast Suspension in Kirawee.
  10. I also am interested in buying a direct fit replacement intercooler so I am in the process of making some enquiries. I visited MOOD MOTORSPORT in Sydney who perform a lot of fabrication type work which includes intercoolers etc custom made. These guys are currently making an intercooler for the PAC PERFORMANCE XR6T project car which will be a direct fit as I was told by the owner, with a PWR core with custom made tanks. I am currently awaiting a quote which will also include an oil cooler possibly attached to the bottom of the intercooler. As soon as I recieve a price I will post some more details. Peter
  11. Congratulations."LOOK OUT" when the slicks go on it should come close to the other record.Well done.
  12. This theory sounds like it's on the money. Here are my 2 dyno runs. The first was with just under 3,000kms on the clock prior to the first service and the second was with about 16,000kms on the clock. What really strikes me is the difference in the A/F ratios after the 3k service.Big power difference.Yes the car is completely standard.
  13. I'm a believer cause I think by holding the foot flat makes the car go into a "flood clear" mode. Thanks Dingah I will try it. Peter
  14. "Quote" Normal - don't think so. Even with APR Phase 2 mine idels as steady and smooth as a straight 6 should. Have you tried the 10 second engine turnover with accelerator to the floor to reset the cams? Dingah Can you please elaborate on this 10 sec thing that resets the cams. Peter
  15. Yeah mine does the same thing. It feels like the car is rocking from right to left and the rev needle flickers a bit.My dealer has tried everything to fix it but the problem seems to appear again after a few days.Unlike some others my car has never stalled. It's pissing me off as well so I am wondereing if this new edit gizmo will fix the problem? Can anyone confirm if the edit will fix this. Peter
  16. So what is the price? The Herrod site claims $1300 for the kit with generic tunes. Is there something in the fine print that I am missing? Peter
  17. Thanks fellas.Saved me some time and money. Peter
  18. Good question Geesman.I dont know if they have proof but do either of the 98 suppliers have proof? By the way the loaded bit doesn't imply that I am a rich man,but I am working on it.
  19. I am planning on experimenting on my standard T to see if it will have any affect.I'll put 20litres in and give it a go this weekend.Probably just wasting my money cause I can't alter the timing.
  20. Has anybody heard about or tried this new ET 102 octane unleaded race fuel? It's a range of unleaded race fuel that can be legally used on the street.Best thing is that it's already being sold in Sydney at ET PETROLEUM- 47 Lakemba St,Belmore. The flip side is that it costs around $3.85p/litre which should drop a little when it becomes readily available. This sounds good for track days etc. Link www.etracingfuels.com Peter
  21. If you are from Sydney go to tempe tyres and they will have them for $175 each. At that price you can't go wrong for a silica based tyre.
  22. It doesn't get any better.
  23. Excellent night last night and good to meet some of the fellow forum members.I managed to have a total of 7 runs with a mixed result as follows. 1: 14.450 @ 96.11mph -Traction control on 2: 14.833 @ 94.92mph -Aircon on 3: 14.538 @96.04mph 4:14.542 @ 95.50mph 5: 14.942 @ 97.00mph- Removed air filter 6: 14.362 @ 95.73mph 7: R/T .159 60' 2.211 330' 6.090 660' 9.282 @ 76.94mph 1000' 12.003 ET 14.312 @ 96.41mph Next time it won't be stock I hope. Peter
  24. I will try hard to get there pending work committments, and having my clutch rectified by Ford. Stock standard manual T with slipping clutch. I had it dynoed at 15000k's with 221.1rwkw and managed a 14.5 last time out. Peter
  25. Hate to say this but I warned you about the clutch.Brilliant engineering by ford, it's like putting a 10litre fuel tank in a big block engined car. At least you had some fun apart from the clutch let down. Let me know when you head out again and I will bring my stock T for some side by side runs if you are interested. Peter
