Finally Arrived! Fpv Gt 335 In White!
Oops.. sorry for the lack of updates. Simply put, no mods yet. Only just clocked 2,500 on her and after the first service, might head down to Adelaide on the next holiday break. I'm thinking it won't be for another few months to come before I start modding the GT. What would you guys recommend? I want to go safe on this one and practically start with an intercooler. We're getting good weather up here at the moment for running her - low 10's during the evening, and sub 10's during the night, damn does that supercharger whine in good weather!! However, hot days hit 40 degrees, so I'm thinking, the more boost I run, the more problems I'll get. At the moment, from what I notice, giving her the boot puts the boost bar just past half way - so around 8psi peak is my evaluation. If so, what would be a safe tune? Any other modifications within about the $5k mark?

Brisbane 335
Coming from someone who bought a G6ET, which is just another word for an overpriced XR6T? Silly jokes aside, speed isn't everything. For one, you said that your mates car was tuned and had work done to it, comparing it to a car which is stock. Secondly, if I wanted a go-fast car without any form of luxury or compensation for money spent (cause the car would have a heck of a lot of problems producing such power when it's not from factory), I would have bought a Nissan 180sx or 32 GTR. The point in buying an F6 or GT is the fact that you're getting a nice car, not one where you have to build it up to beat them stock.. nerrrr...

F6 310 Vs 335 Gt Raceway
Buy a yaris. I'm sorry, but we're talking about 1.7 tonne Rear Wheel Drive vehicles. 4L i6 and 5L V8. If you want fuel efficiency to be a concern about what makes more power based on cost of running, then you'll have little hope in getting much feedback, because I for one didn't buy a GT 335 to watch my fuel efficiency.

Running In
Car clocked 1,600 km's today, so it's now "run in", as FPV put it in their guide book. I simply babied it for it's first few hundred, giving it a squirt now and then but never seeing over 4,500 revs. Once 600 kays were on it, I gave it a nice run from 40-160 or so and also cruised at high speeds varying my revs, speed and gears. I have yet to do a standing 0-100 run, but very keen to see how it churps in first, as changing gears from first to second, or even second to third give a nice workout for the traction control.

Finally Arrived! Fpv Gt 335 In White!
Yep.. I doubt the GT 335's will be any more valuable then any other FPV.

Finally Arrived! Fpv Gt 335 In White!
Right.. the exhaust isn't bad.. and I think the only reason people would lean towards changing it is to support more power, not note. The sound is awesome, no doubt, but it's not as grunty as the HSV"s bi-modal exhaust, from what I've heard in person of both cars. The GT sounds better, by a long shot. The supercharger whine just sends shivers down my spine, and it must sound good because people turn.. and that's without revving it too high! I'll take a video of the sound when I get a chance.. been too busy driving it! The rims do look small on the FG; and I'm not sure why FPV won't make genuine 20's.. Both the 18's for the XR series and 19's for the FPV's look too small for the body, but I guess it'll do until genuine 20's come afoot. The thing with these wheels is that they're not just "Ford" rims.. they're FPV.. and you gotta buy an FPV to get these genuine, unlike the lick-and-stick XR ones.. So I'll hold on to them for now In terms of mods, at the moment, nothing planned.. but I can already tell the supercharger has more oomph.. when you give it a squirt, you can hear a fluttering sound from the engine bay, most likely releasing a lot of air since the PSI is so low.. However, being belt driven, I'm afraid that raising the boost could cause the belt to snap and cause damage.. Though, I do want an intercooler as I feel it'll keep safe any small forms of tuning in future..

Finally Arrived! Fpv Gt 335 In White!
Haha.. I actually love the wheels - I understand when people say they're too thin in the spokes compared to the body and stripes of the car. But I like them Thanks all for the words .. I'll post some more photos & maybe a video of the exhaust tomorrow when I give it a good clean! Damn bugs stick on a white car like crazy..

Finally Arrived! Fpv Gt 335 In White!
Haha.. bit of photoshopping the car was dirty at the time of photos... @Worm, completely agree.. I think the linear power from the v8 s/c is what makes the car feel slower then the turbo, but damn does it sound good Once you get the oil a bit warm, the supercharger really whines :D

Finally Arrived! Fpv Gt 335 In White!
Got the decals as an option - I like them haha.. and the Raccoon eyes is what makes it stand out as an FPV Leaving it stock for awhile.. the no-intercooler situation scares me a little, so I might put one on down the track and tune it, but basically keep the rest stock. I don't believe the exhaust is everyone's taste. A few people who heard it (friends) thought it would be louder, especially at idle.. I like it, but it's definitely not as loud as HSV's. I'll take a video once I get a chance.

Finally Arrived! Fpv Gt 335 In White!
So, as a few people know, I've been hanging to get my FPV GT for the past 3 and a half months. I purchased it back in December, and wanted one brand new out of the factory.. It finally arrived on Monday, 9pm, taken straight off the delivery truck! And I've got to say, what a piece of artwork! This car is definitely a head turner, and I've never heard anything quite like the engine. The V8 is noticeable, but subtle enough to let the whine of the supercharger completely turn heads. With only a few kilometers on the clock, I have yet to really give it a full boot. Of course, I haven't even reached 6,000 revs on it yet, but one thing I will point out is how smooth the power delivery comes through. Whether this is good or bad is something I'll find out a bit later on, but compared to the FG turbo's, though the GT is faster on paper, it definitely doesn't feel as fast when driving it. Why I say this is because once you hit 2,000 revs on the FG turbo, you instantly hit a massive amount of torque and power, sending the rest of the revs to hell. However, in the V8 S/C, it's the opposite.. Torque is instant, but it doesn't feel like it's delivering that whiplash you'd get from the turbo. I love the car's power, no doubt, but hopping from an FG turbo to the GT 335, I feel gimped in terms of performance, at this moment. Everything else though, my God, incredible! From the sound, to the leather interior, to the suede found completely everywhere (mmm, fury), it definitely looks like a very beasty & aggressive car, yet modern in the interior to suit any European performance-car lover's needs. Mine included. The white looks incredible - and though it's still a tad dirty from the trip here from Darwin, I'm glad I went from that colour. More photos to come*

New Gt Add

335 Gt Tune Only
Who was that directed to, sorry? If me (since I mentioned I bought a GT), it comes tomorrow from what I know. It was shipped down via truck from Darwin on Saturday morning, so I don't get to pick it up till Monday. Will be posting pictures for sure :D

A Video Of My F6 Ute
Take a stab at yourself for that one, because it was you who originally posted an idiotic statement. Let people do what they want. Search youtube; there's thousands of other car videos that need your stupid responses, go post there. Anyway, I don't think this needs to continue 'cause it's simply getting way out of what the OP was intending.. By the way, do the newer utes (GS / F6) come with the FPV badge on the steering wheel? I thought it was only the BA/BF FPV's that had the Ford badge, I was quite surprised that they didn't use the FPV badge for the FG FPV utes.. *shrug*

What To Buy - Xr6T Bf Mkii Vs Fg
Aftermarket front bar on ebay has the tear drops cut out for the FPV look-alike. Bogan special .com.au can do it too, if you simply state it's for an XR series car. *shrugs*

Have intercooler kits been made and/or released for the GT yet? If so, any links / prices?

Time For An Upgrade Ford
WTF? HAHAHAHA!! Woops, shows me why I shouldn't be replying at 3am in the morning.. wounds people, wounds.. my mistake Stepping away from this conversation now simply because I feel silly comparing a V8 S/C to a i6 Turbo.. Both are Ford, go kick some Expensive Daewoo asses

Time For An Upgrade Ford
Completely off the mark in my opinion. Tune the F6 all you want, you'll need to upgrade piping, intercooler, air induction, the lot for it to make 400rwkw, unlike the GT that can do that stock under the bonnet with a tune. Sure, both of them will need more parts when more power is required, but your theory of a "tune only" is incorrect. Why don't we see stock GT's down the 1/4 mile? Because people who run these cars down the quarter are probably chasing power and good times, and thus, have already tuned the de-tuned coyote, because it's the first thing people do along with the exhaust. How can the F6 be "deliberately" turned down when the GT came out AFTER? Sure, there's a lot they can do to give it more power, but it's always been about the V8's having the top mark, simply because of marketing values. When people think Ford or Holden, they think big muscle V8's (which is silly, in my opinion) - I still believe the Turbo outshines the GT, so stop licking your wombs because we know the turbo is still king (even though reviews don't make it seem so, again, a marketing strategy). I've had the FG XR6T, and soon will be owning the GT 335 (this Saturday), and the only reason why I bought it was because I wanted something different. Sure, the F6 was $15k less, but I've done the turbo, driven it, had fun with it.. it's time for a change.

Fpv Gs Not So Cheap!
Ah right, forgot about them not getting the sub and amp.. thanks I bought a GT.. and my build number is 229 (being a late feb build, I'd say its one of the last so far). If this is the total GT 335's built so far, that's $16m in GT sales for the last 5 months.. not too bad considering, right?

Fpv Gs Not So Cheap!
When I went to the local Ford dealershop, an Automatic 2010 XR8 SEDAN in Dash with all the options except leather and 19's (premo sound, reverse sensors and camera, side airbags, aftermarket window tint, floor mats, dash mats, tech pack, the lot) was priced at $48,990 driveaway, which is pretty much retail. Ford dealership up north quoted a GS SEDAN with premo sound, reverse sensors, camera, tint and dash mats for $52,990. This was before I bought the GT off them. Yeah, the salesman knew me a bit and wanted one of these cars on their lot anyway, but still, now seeing prices of the GS ute at $51k with just premo sound, I should have taken that deal. Though, I just prefer an FPV to look like an FPV, not an XR8... Also, premium sound is retailed at $1,100.00 for both sedan and utes for 2010 built cars, last I checked.

A Video Of My F6 Ute
Don't know why you stated that your car is modified, making 300+ kw at the wheels.. good luck with not getting busted. What an idiotic thing to say.. Hmm? What year is the ute? I thought all FPV's came with colour ICC and the FPV badge on the steering wheel? I believe it's an FPV since we can see the start button, and heard the red-line beeping at you.. I just thought all FPV's came with those standard.. :O

Is 120,000Km's Too Many?
I think you only read the first line of my post.. as I pointed out, YES, a car with more kilometers will have more wear, but that's why you get it CHECKED before you buy it and/or go to tune it. If you do the same modifications to the EXACT same car (same model, both BA), and one has 130k, and the other has 10k.. it's a toss up of which will blow up first, if both have been maintained the same way.. No disrespect.. I'm a young one too and have only had little experience in the modification scene, but at the same time, I don't think kilometers will really factor in the car suffering any less than one with less kilometers that hasn't been maintained correctly.. *shrugs* bomber, you know your stuff though.. I've spoken to you within a few other forums, so again mate, no disrespect, I was just stating what I thought was correct.

XR6 Turbo Insurance: Premiums, Insurers & Advice
Hmm weird.. NT laws are a bit different, but when I had an FG XR6T at 19, Just Cars quoted me $1400 with $400 excess, of an agreed value of $45,000 (which is just under what I bought the car at). Looking at the GT 335 now, at age 20, the car will cost me $1600 with $600 excess, of an agreed value of $76k (what I bought the car for).. So, maybe it's the fact that I'm on my full license, but comparing these to some other young people here, I think I got a bargain? This is with Just Cars Insurance.

Is 120,000Km's Too Many?
I think that's in the good buy region.. if you can cough up another $1k OP, ask nathen for more details on his mates car. @bomber - It's funny, some people say not to modify your car until at least a few thousand kilometers to see if there's anything wrong with the car from manufacture and to get it fixed.. others wait until the end of the warranty period. This is, in fact, a forum where half, if not more of the people, have modified cars, and you're concerned at 130k that bits will be flying off? Bits can be flying off at 10,000kay's, or even less.. Don't scare people off with bullsh*t saying that their 130k car has any better of a chance blowing up then someone with only 10k on the odometer. Yes, I understand at that point of time in the car's life, there's most likely a lot of wear and tear in the engine bay - but nothing a service & check from a performance house can't fix.. And a good idea is to do this BEFORE you buy the car.. If there's major issues, then don't buy the car. If there's minor things that they can fix (or little damage at all), go for the clouds and tune away.. *shrugs* Just my two cents

Daytime Running Lights For Ford
I've always been interested in DRL's for the FG series, as we've seen them (+angel eyes) easily fit to the BA/BF series falcons within the headlights.. but since the FG series headlights can't be pulled apart, exactly, has anyone got a photo of the FG series (or know of any kits with photos) with DRL's? ZAP, can you post a photo of your foggies running DRL's? Thanks :D
