  6. Agree with this comment. In my opinion they are the first really tough car that Ford Australia has produced since the option 097 XC Cobra's. Prior to that it would be the RPO83. Expensive Daewoo wise, the VK Grp 3, A9X or the XU1 torana's. Chargers never seen to get the attention they deserve either. I would love to own a Charger. Cheers Mark
  7. $900 with $400 excess for me with the NRMA. I am 39 years old, 20 years driving, clean record, no accidents, multiple policies with the NRMA which is supposed to give me a bigger discount. We also live in what I class a non sh*t bag suburb and are charged country rates. Wife pretty much drives the car, she is 39 as well, clean driving record, no accidents, 20 years driving as well. I wonder if I am getting ripped, when some people in their low 20's are only paying a few hundred more.
  8. Well home now and sad to have missed the cruise. The wife and I are very keen to get out and on the road. Mate there will be another time, where abouts are you located? A turbo and a Bird...........makes for a nice combo........ Cheers Mark
  9. Guys I am so sorry with the fires up in the hunter I have been called out and I am heading to Muswellbrook first thing in the morning. Have a safe trip and hope to be on the next run. Cheers Mark
  10. Damn right about that. We had a few people laugh at us, when we did not fix 2 years ago. We rode the wave and now a it's now paying off. I wonder if those same people who laughed at us are still cheering. I wonder what the fees are like to get out of the fixed rate and back onto variable.
  11. Our loan is with the Macquarie Bank and it was 6.44 prior to today’s interest rate cut. 5.44% if we get the full 1%. That means we will be paying an extra $500 a month of our mortage. I wonder if the housing bubble has really burst. The experts think that house prices will still drop even more. The wife and I have been talking and we are thinking it might be a damn good time to look at investment properties, and fix it for as long as we can.
  12. Mate we paid $22,990 for our 05 turbo with 37,000 no leather, standard sound. That was through a dealer as well.
  13. Thanks Mate I will do a search, stupid me should have done it in the first place.
  14. Hi guys I just saw this thread and have spoken to the wife. We would really like to turn up. We are around 90% sure. All depends on RFS commitments and the chances of fires this weekend. Cheers Mark & Fiona.
  15. My wife and I went through something simular last year, just prior to christmas. We wanted to upgrade from our 2001 AU into something newer and a little bit more sporty. We wanted something with good k's and no older than a 05 build. We shopped around and saw a few BF XR6 mostly 4 speed auto's with 1 or 2 6 speed auto's. We found an 07 Turbo ex police was with low k's but were scared off the ex police and the flogging it may have copped. My preference was a turbo, I hope I dont upset anyone/start a all in war but in my opinion the XR6 NA is a tarted up XT and if your going to buy something, then get the real deal. We ended up with an July 05 BA II XR6T with 37,000 4 speed and I am so glad we got the turbo. Colour was not exactly what we were after, the car is Blaze but it had pretty much everything else we were after. Besides the colour has grown more on us. I know it's not a BF and it's not a 6 speed but it had the right k's and service records, privately owned and looks very clean. We are going to leave it standard as I use my bike to have some real fun. First thing we did was engine, transmisssion oil and filters and I will get the diff done next week. One question I would like to ask is about the larger trans coolers. I know cooling the oil helps the life of the 4 speed. Where do you get them from, how much do they cost and are they easy enough to fit. Thanks for any help and I hope I dont start any kind of wars with my comments on the NA. Cheers Mark
