460kw at the wheels. That wont last long!....I still desperately want one of those though. How do I order one Peter?
-
Looks like the daily driving torque limit of the box has been found
-
The trick to winning the money is being consistent. You can take it out with a 13.5 second car.....as long as you can run 13.5 all day
-
Mate, if you have a twin turbo LS1 Late model camira you are prepared to run, then I will make it worth your while. Simple as that. Having been hiding anywhere mate, you know pressures of work and all that stuff Pete. Just because I havent run into you or Robbie in Vegas lately doesnt mean I aint around mate! Having you two guys going heads up in your XRs in front of a mainly Late model camira crowd would be bloody awesome. Might even line you up myself....with a one second head start! (for me). Come on Pete, I know you want to be there....
-
That would be awesome Greg! Maybe get simon to give me a call

Whats happening to the world? Leading edge professionals workshops that develop complete engineering solutions both here and internationally getting caught up in the knuckle dragging world of drag racing...I love it! Whats next. A punchup in the pits? How about Messrs Luxon and Brindley bring their weapons to the LS1 Drag Nationals....and we will see exactly how they stack up against those fiercly competitive oil burners. You might even win some money if you can pedal the things too! If either NIZPRO or APS are interested I will allow you entry to the LS1 OUTLAWS and FRIENDS class (10.99 and faster DYO), with $2000 prizemoney up for grabs. There you will be able compare your 470rwkw + cars with others making the same sort of power. Great fun! I wont take it personally if I dont get a response though guys. Cheers. Oh well, if any of you are brave enough, then download the entry form off the site. Cheers

Watching you run a 15.5 That would be pretty entertaining! If you find the drags boring, then fine. Why bother to comment? If you dont want to thrash your prestige performance car....then....really....get over it. Its an Aussie built plugger. Beat it, the thing will probably go better! Those that want to enter, please feel free!

Yes its sad Kelly, other than you theres lots of talk, not much action.......... Its odd how groups of people that split themselves into two opposing camps can have such different philosophical outlooks re their vehicles. Most Expensive Daewoo guys by nature - and Im not one - love competition, track days, drag racing etc. While the Ford guys - and Im not one - are less inclined to be go head to head, or be put to the test in anyway. Both sentiments are reflected strongly in each companies marketing. Not a criticism, just an observation. Oh well, we have one T making the trip, mine. Ill just post pics here for you to enjoy. Lion Tamers Wanted - at the LS1 Drag Nationals!
-
Sounds like a lot of 'handbag' excuses there guys! Picked on by Expensive Daewoo owners, 'those big bad nasty bullies'....and if its boring, come and put them away. No sooking now. This is an open invite, not a Kleenex competition. I'll take my T regardless.....and my VY

The LS1 boys are having their own drag nationals at Heathcote on April 16 -17th. Interestingly enough there will be a bracket, complete with prizemoney for the non LS1 - including XR6T - entrants. I will be racing my T there, that's pretty much a certaintly. Maybe a chance for APS to show em how its done in the 'LS1 Outlaws' category. LS1 DRAG NATIONALS (click)

Why dont you go back to the people who modified your car in the first place?
-
Interesting that no one other than me, Redcliffe, and Nizrpo are doing 12s or better. Its downright simple in an auto, a little harder in a manual
-
Can we just keep this to people that actually own cars and have/are interested in running them. Its not school holidays yet is it?
-
Mine, last run on radials 12.9 @ 108mph best mph 111mph Manuals are a b**ch to make quick out there!
-
Has anybody run their XR6T down the track yet? If so be interested to hear your times/mph/tyres used etc.
-
The rear end of the ute is being revised as we speak. There are issues with pinion angle, spring rate, and torque reaction that all need to be solved before they will go fast
-
Obviously its not my job to give Chiptorque training on how to make their kit work, but I will tell you that my car runs 36lb/hr injectors, and a heavily revised fuel system. Additional pumps/regulators etc.
-
With Mine, and I would reckon its the same as the thing they sell, you can adjust boost anywhere between 7 and 18psi
-
With the Humidity, Room Temp, and Inlet temp numbers I reckon the correction was 1.021. We have had some dreadfully low pressure days here this year, lots of rain, lots of cloud. I even reset the station just to make sure, as like you, I find that a little low. On the other hand, take 7kw off the power figure, and there it is totally uncorrected
-
Because the Relative Pressure as displayed was 965 on the weather station. That run was also performed in 4th gear. As per 'bending' the signals? Of course there is no problem, everyone does it!
-
Mate, Im not suggesting Im smarter than you. Far from it. I will however get out there with some instrumentation, and test my car, with my mods, and then report the results. I feel there are some MAJOR compromises in all of the kits on the market on the moment, as NOT ONE of them addresses the computer control issue from a classic, and correct, software modification viewpoint. None of them change the torque limiter, or access any of the base software parameters. ALL of them trick the computer, which is fine, cause it works, but really gives no one the high horse advantage. Doesnt really matter what you call it. However, the cars seem to run, and fine in most cases.

Well its all hard facts isnt it. Those that dont believe the oil cooler is useful, dont mind 140deg C oil after some extended hard driving...which is on the knocker of engine death. Its really not that hard to work out, is it? Took about 10 minutes of country driving with some temp measuring equipment. No rocket science, just ground work
-
At the time we did that - some four months ago, no one else anywhere had anything. Redcliffe didnt have a kit out, TSI I think were still testing (I think they got out at about the same time or a few days earlier), Motec throttle control was still being developed, and APS, although graciously offering to supply a Unichip for the car, stipulated that it had to be supplied in, and then remain in, totally standard condition. Obviously that didnt suit the requirements of the project. Unfortunately we were left with little choice. However I think the decisions will be vindicated when we get to the 1/4 mile testing installment. I dont think anyone has run quicker yet, regardless of their technology, or opinions
-
You might want to sort that dyno graph of yours out before you start throwing stones......Heres my poorly researched and obviously inferior junker on low boost Notice the boost pressure - nothing. But you wont get this result by bolting on other peoples parts and forming an opinion. Its all in the testing, and of course, tuning
