Has anyone actually successfully installed a turbo timer? The last I heard was that they couldn't start the car again because the code between the car and key were different???

I had a similar thing happen to me not so long ago. At the time I was a little short on cash so I changed my spare tyre to my normal wheel and then bought the cheapest performance tyre the fitted the 18" wheel for the spare. This might suit you as well.

I am a member of the XR6 & XR8 Club of Queensland and received one of their emails yesterday which might be of interest. Here is a quote: No matter how much rustproofing you have had done o uyour pride and joy, be it a new GT-P or a base model XR6 (or any car in fact, passenger or High performance), they are rusting from the assembly line. We only found out about this through a comprehensive rebuild of an AUIII XR8 Falcon Ute late early in 2002, and it affects Sedans & Utes alike. EVERY car is affected, none escape rust in this Club unfortunately. We have had examples of new BA XR8 Utes and Sedans, XR6 & Turbos alike, coming in after only being owned for 1 MONTH or less, with rust that threatened to push through cabins, rust through panel supports, radiator supports, door handles and hinges etc, boot lids & hinges .. the list goes on, and we're talking an average of over two thousand dollars worth of RUST damage and repair per car here ..... Anybody???

I got my car through a car broker. He saved me a few thousand dollars and did all the paper work. I just signed on the dotted line once I picked it up. I think it was great

My car makes a squeeking/squeeling noise when it is cold and you go to reverse. It comes somewhere from the front of the car. It also occasionaly happens when driving normally somewhere between 2000 - 2200 rpm. I reported this at my 3000km service but it was not fixed because the apparently could not replicated the problem. My car goes back in for it's 10,000km service soon and I will mention it again. Don't know if it's the same thing or not.

Got my car back from the 3000km service last week. I read the report and they said that they tightened steering and suspension components. I thought that it was fixed but this morning it happened again. If anyone manages to find a fix for it, I would be very interested. Only happens in reverse so when the engine is cold, so I suppose I could live with it

I got my car back from its 3000km service last week and I can tell you that they didn't do much more than flush out the brake dust. I had a look at the statement that they give you and it just said that they cleaned the brakes. Lasted about 4 days and then started squeeling again. I guess I will just have to live with it for a while longer :(

Thanks jmoo2, I'll get that looked at once it goes in for it's first service. I was getting a little worried there!

Guys, Just wondering if any of you have experienced the following problem: When I reverse out in the mornings, I ususally get this weird squeeky whining noise that comes from the front of the car. This only happens when the car is cold, and doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes I think I can hear it when I am accelerating between the 1800 and 2200 rpm range (Going forward of course :lol: ) but I may just be paranoid. Thanks

I have now done 1800km on mine and mine have been doing this since about the 1000km mark. Gets a bit annoying at times....just turn the radio up a bit more :lol:

I have nearly done 1000k's now and the car is just getting better and better. No problems at all to speak of. Extremely happy. Can't get enough of it..... :D
