  1. Tell me about it !!! when I told my tuner about this it was the first for him too. No damage at all inside. Have broken a few tail shafts/flex plates/gearboxes/diffs and other stuff along the way too so just about the hole ute is now built. We did get it aligned by 2 methods - evidence to the tube were the factory welds were (marks) and sat the hold ass end up of the ground and used the 2 flat plates on both tubes which the leafs sit under to get it right. The boys at Hardie Spicer when building the new shaft recommended when she gets powered up more to run 2 braces to stop any rotating which will be done soon.
  2. Current Trans is a Built BTR 4 speed which changes gears within .2 of a second and fairly hard due to a 2400 stally which is to be replaced very soon with a Turbo 400. Power is 400+rwkw with 1400+Nms. After the new box goes in then a FG exhaust manifold with some porting is going on with a larger huffer.
  3. After the most recent power upgrades and after a full test of these we had a FAIL situation on the axel tube coming away from the diff. There are only 3 factory welds that hold the tube into place within the diff so the tube was persuaded back into its house and aligned with the factory welds re done and 4 additional welds spaced evenly were the tube marries into the diff on both axels. All up to remove the ass end/fix and re-install took about 9 hours with a few beers and by no means am I a mechanic. Has anyone else had this problem ??
  4. Have destroyed 2 factory tail shafts and with the end goal for this Ba Ute to run 9 second passes went for something that will handle the punishment.
  5. Thanks for that Mate. On the BTR 4 speed Gearbox we have decided to remove it and will be replaced with another Dominellos built box being a Turbo 400 rated to 1500+HP with one of his handmade 2800-3000 stall convertors. Tony Dominello is in the process of building the new set up with the main reason the BTR being made redundant is the Ute is going to be turned up further with more modifications and going a little more to race strip applications so looking for a reliable and safe combination. Have a few mates that are running his new 400+ Kws BTR boxes and are happy as cops with a radar trap on a drag strip. Got the new tail shaft in and it's a ripper !! New Rims are on too...Went a slightly different style... Tail shaft install Trip. On the loose Axle tube, this Ute just likes twisting/breaking gear !!! Anyone else had this problem ??? All Fixed !!
  6. With the built BRT in 3rd gear, 1:1 ratio she sits on 3000rpm @ 100kmph, so yours must be different. On your T400 what shifter is used and what's it look like (Fit), how did they do the oil lines + mounting of the cooler and info on the cross member would be most helpful. When the diff was built in mine we went the standard ratio, for memory they are 3.7, A mate with a BA Ute has a C4 in it (So final gear, 3rd is 1:1 same as your T400) with the same diff ratios and has run a 10.1 @ high 130mph but she was getting to the end of the RPM/Torque range, also going on what my Tuner (Blueboost) tells me. If we do have issues with the diff ratio's will change the existing, one of the main things is getting the stall convertor built to what the overall mathematic sum is, going for a 2800-3000 stall so should get out of the hole well but not flare on highway driving.
  7. US is normaly rear. Best of luck with it and keep us posted hey.
  8. Thanks for the Info and I agree with the highway driving, over time the 3-4K would take a lot of wear and tear + Juice to make it up. We should be able to get 141+ mph on the current diff gears on the T 400 before the torque drops off. Have spent heaps of hours on the Turbo 700 or 4L65e as a lot of people call this box. I wanted to believe it could handle it but all the Aus trans guys excluding 1 I found said Do Not Do It. Findings are that Monster transmissions (In the US only rate this box to 650hp). But in our cars if you have 650 rwhp it's the equivalent to 1100hp with the high amount of torque, so my tuner tells me. What’s your end goal with you build. 9. With the Ute mainly being a Streeter we went away from a power glide. They are stronger again but the T 400 going in is rated to 2000hp.
  10. We are removing the Built BTR Gearbox out of my Ute and going for a Turbo 400 to handle the power after a lot of research. Did find a mob in Melbourne to warrant a Turbo 700 to 1000 hp but there is too much risk in my eyes. The Ute is used for Street and Strip applications and with the high degree of Highway Km's driven and wanting not be be sitting on 3000 rpm @ 100 km/h there is 2 options (might be more....Anyone) to sort this. First 1 is change the diff gears and the more likely is a Gear Vender, has anyone got/played with this gear..... Did not want to got for a C4 due to some freinds running 9's and having trouble with them.
  11. Jman had the same happening to mine. Put superpro stuff throughout and the sh*tty noise has gone. Done about 4000 kms and all go so far.
  12. what turbo did u up to? 40rwkw improvement on just a bolt on turbo and manifold is awesome! Were the runs on 98ron and 20psi still? Welcome to the EASY10 club ;p just put some 265 slicks on and your laughing all the way down the track! Still the same Factory Turbo with the normal high-flow mods. Got the extra 40 rwks and a bucket load of NM's from a twin 3" exhaust and 4" Plazmaman intake. With sorting out all the loose bolts claims ect and the extra 5 psi will get her re-tuned soon and see what see puts out. Boost was up to 23 psi and a little giddy up jucie was added on the last tuning session. Already have the slicks, going to put her in race trim with front runners and MT's 10.5's on the rear. Should get a O.K. time out of her. love the fact there are no aftermarket plenums in use proves that u just DONT need them My Tuner (Blueboost) said from day 1 no need for a plenum. Is'nt there a F6 right down south without a plenum running 9's. I like those flames on the bonnet, as you said, not in your face but a nice touch. You spent a bit of dosh there also, seems money no object. Thanks for that Mate got the flames running down each front gaurd too. You would fall over if I Told you what has been spent, mainly due to doing mods not twice but three times (my fault) and when you turn these Cars/Utes up to 3 X what the factory setting is you do have to expect to break stuff, prime example is the drive line. After the built motor went in the Ute was always going to be a keeper !!! Fun Toy But !! Few of my mates are saying de-badge it due to not that many ford parts left in her. The way I look at it is get everything built and over enginerred. New custom tailshaft arriving tommorrow, good to have her back on the road. Got the Pro Utes Chrisy party this weekend in Mission beach
  13. Hey Brian, I Live/Play in Airlie and would be great to see this weapon (If you drove up) of yours and maybe catch up for a drink so if your keen let me know. Could show you some sights too, give us a pm.
  14. Got a little custom paint work done the other week. Not too in your face with the Celtic flames changing in different light. Tightened all the loose nuts claims and bolts throughout the engine bay last week and found another 5 psi. There was a fair bit loose. Took her for a hard drive with this new found giddy up and the drive line FAILED. One of the axle tubes come out of the diff by 8mm and broke all the factory welds. The tailshaft cv's packed it in too. So one custom made tailshaft with no more cv's went uni's and chrome molly/billet to cope. The tube has been re-inserted with alot more welds was going to brace the tubes to the diff but the engineer thinks what we have done should be sweet. Hardy Spicer know their stuff. Should be back rolling by Thursday. Will post up some drive line pics soon. Got some new rims on the way also. Once fitted will post some pics up.

  16. Had the same in my ute which is the same age but turn up a fair bit. Got mine re-built at Driveline (Mackay) they are Aus wide for $990, took them 4.5 hours to do the hole job. They put beefed up parts all the way through and balanced ect. Have not had any problems with the diff but one of the stubs come 3/4 out of the diff housing today so the ass end is heading down to Mackay for it to be fixed and we are bracing the stubs to the diff.
  17. The T/B work is Kev's gear, it's one of his Stage 3 Kits. We did mix a little happy Juice for the last few runs but the motor would not ping even without. The Turbo still has about 25% left in it. Before tuning and with the new intake and exhaust she was boosting to a 32 psi and loving it. Does anyone out there know what's been the Max Power/NM put through a BTR without breaking ? Here are the Vids from the Dyno Runs from start to finish. 351.flv video by blowoffchad - Photobucket 372.flv video by blowoffchad - Photobucket 382.flv video by blowoffchad - Photobucket 396.flv video by blowoffchad - Photobucket 403.flv video by blowoffchad - Photobucket 402.flv video by blowoffchad - Photobucket My Turn ! http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/blowoffchad/Slutsville9.jpg http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/blowoffchad/Slutsville10.jpg

  19. That's one fat Ute Jarrod !! Looks and Performance, Nice.
  20. Finally got the Ute Tuned and am stoked with the result. The 1324 NM makes it pull like a freight train. Should be good for mid 10's. Power hooks up excellent with the current set up. Graduated into the 400 club !! MMMM - Bigger Turbo and 6 boost manifold.... Here the details - Including a fresh Spec Sheet http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/blowoffchad/Slutsville-1.jpg
  21. Hey All and nice to finally graduate into the club !! Tuned by Blueboost after the latest round of Mods and stoked with the 1324 NM, she pulls hard now. Not a bad figure considering a 4 speed with a non factory stally. We kept on dumping more timing into it but left it at this stage to see how she runs down the strip. Here all the details - http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/blowoffchad/Slutsville-1.jpg
  22. Heading down to Mackay for Blueboost to do his thing and Tune away till we are all happy next Thursday. He is running this weekend, Time to break some records.. quickest XR6T in Aus....good chance. Few more mods while we are into the current stuff. PWR Tranz cooler fitted, One of Plazmaman's 4" Pro Airbox kits. Looks the part..Went the Billet Finsh http://www.plazmaman.com/shop/index.php?action=item&itemId=237
  23. While the Ute is off the road getting some more work done the gearbox is being looked at too. The Factory Suspension setup it not going too well with the matched kws especially after the new Exhaust. All new Superpro bushes/links etc with KYB shockies being installed. Have been told KYB are about 30% firmer that factory ride and have bugger all warranty claims. Was thinking about coilovers with camber kits but was informed that wheel alignments will become my best friend.. New high pressure power steering hose in. Fuel system upgrade time. The walbro intake pump is starting to lean out said my Tuner so Either going for a 10 lt surge in the tray so faster juice.. can be easily used, or a 3 lt under Ute jobbies with availability to run 2 044's if going to E85... which great results are already being achieved. Then Tune Time..
  24. A very free flowing one..
  25. Fitted up A set of Nitto INVO for the rears being 305/30/19 on G Max Rims. Was running one of their semi slicks in a lot smaller size/rim on the track and these new ones are rippers heaps better grip than the others.. Found them on ebay but the mob who sell them are called Motorsport Wheels and Tyers on 236 South Gippsland Rd Dandenong South Vic 3175 or (03)97933244. Was that impressed with them rang this supplier and yes they have them in stock for about $350 ea. Blueboost was saying how I might be lucky to see 10 000 kms out of them but for the grip... One thing that's totally different on these Nitto's is the Ute has now developed axel tramp under strong boost just not spinning the tyres. All new bushes etc next week to try and settle it down.
