LOL im in the process of replacing mine now. I was cruisin at about 70 in 5th gear (silly I know) and just accelerated and the input shaft bearing was gone. Drove it round for a few weeks but shortly after I smashed 3rd gear, then second gear, then it started get stuck in 1st and reverse Cos im unbeleibaly lazy I converted it to the 4spd auto (which is gettin a rebuild at SA RACE with a 3500 stally ) I ran 310 thru my t5 for 6 months b4 it went bang . . . :wacko:

Bruce is sorting it all out, he is just waiting on a price for the tailshaft but im going to see him in the morning cos I got late shift so I dont start til 3. Yea I thought it all woulda been sweet but sh*t happens, all part of modding cars I spose....spend money to spend more money

Got a lovely phone call from dr bruce today... My tailshaft is too short so I need a new one which I didnt know about, I need a transcooler and my radiator has a crack in it at the bottom $220 for an auto radiator with built in transcooler but no word on the tailshaft as of yet. Should still have it by the weekend too

+1 for that Killer bottom end and a T56 and you will be a happy man take it from me, im pushing 310 thru my BA and I just blew the T5 lol so I dropped in a 4spd auto which is gettin fully rebuilt with a 3500 stally Mitch

Nice work dude even 330 on a BA bottom end is pushing it to the limits Id do the zorst and actuator then save for a Better bottom end Nice job mate

spoke to bruce yesterday and I wont have the car back until next week :( I think he said he is short a mechanic . . I think it will be well worth the wait though

oh ok fair enuf then I reckon the modded convertor would def be the way to go. I never been to summernats or gazzanats but I dont want to make main north look like a burn out pad LOL

hmm yeah I get what u mean... the turbz is my everyday car so maybe ill just have to get the modded stock convertor. Id love to get the dominator but yeah I dont wanna smoke tyres all the way to 3rd just driving to work and back everyday. decisions decisions...

LOL that's insane, cheers for that mate that's really helpful. Just one question though that might be a bit stupid jus say for instance I was at the strip about to run a quarter mile (in the car ) to stall it up, its just foot brake and acceleration up to what ever revs your stall convertor is then just release the foot brake and off ya go? pretty much a basic way of puttin it?? so confused

Hi guys, im converting my car from Manual to Auto. Its gonna have a rebuilt 4spd in it but talking to the guy at SA RACE, he started talking about stall convertors. As ya can prob tell I have absolutely no idea how they work or how to use them when its in the car so any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Cheers guys, Mitch

well after some research jet, Sam @ SA RACE will be doing a full rebuild pretty much exactly the same as urs but im getting the diff done too cos I think mine's on its way out. I will find out soon enuf when he opens it up anyways. Not sure on an exact Price at this stage but Athol park are doing me a 4spd Auto trans from BA Turbz 1200 + my buggered T5. The trans has done 60xxxkms I think... When that's done the car is going to bruce to complete the conversion where the exhaust is gonna miss a few bits and a retune. Im looking forward to having bruce work on my car. Heard nothing but good about him to be honest. I cant wait to see the difference between his tune and dennis's tune. Patience is something I dont have so somebody buy my damn T56 and Extreme clutch kit!!!! HAHA

Just speaking to a mate, he can get me a built C4 3 spd auto or something for like 3k with the cross member. B&M pro ratchet shifter & a 3k Stall convertor FTW!!!
