  7. clutch is starting to slip a bit in the xr6t, before a give it more power im going to replace it, thinking of running the strongiest clutch available from either Daiken or Exedy, one of the two, part number FMK.7442 HDCB, got the specs and are 639hp and 699Ft Ibs at the flywheel, im aiming for 300kw at the wheels, going by the specs it should be right. If anyone knows anymore about them or has one let me know, can get one cheap (know a bloke who used to work for the supplier and can get them at cost price for $625 +GST complete with CSC) but dont want it to be a bad choice, but the price is right .
  8. If you buy the amplified version from ASL they give you the boosted ford aux and they say you dont need the suppressor, but I would run one anyway as mine has a very slight whine when turned right down.
  9. So are these the so called super lows or ultra lows?
  10. Need opinions on ride hieght for my xr6t, want to lower it another inch than what it is now, currently has peddars springs in it (inch lower than std xr), rang them with the part number and was told that its there lowiest spring without running a torona rear spring in them (found that an odd suggestion), so want to run king springs in it. Need to now whether the king spring ultra lows will give that inch or will it have to be compressed further for the rear? Does anyone have a pic of them fitted. Also have been seeing the part numbers with ssl in them are just super lows?
  11. I done the lazy thing and brought an ASL logistics kit with aux booster (ford one), few problems though, sound is great, better than through the existing premium unit but has a slight turbo noise coming through speakers when turned right down, will be putting in a noise suppresor in to fix that hopefully. The other problem is that I brought a sony DVD head unit as I didnt want to use them cheap Boss Audio ones that ASL use, but it bit me in the butt as the sony can be turned to NTSC, but when a PAL DVD is put in, automatically changes output back to PAL, hence doesnt work, I have brought a pal/ntsc convertor from jaycar but all it done is give pal colour, still jumps around. So I have to change the player. From what I know, Boss audio work and seems like JVC work, anyone else use anything different and work? Dont want to fit a player that will last a month before it stops playing DVD's.
  12. Mate im only 21, but I grew up with much older brothers who had old worked falcons and there mates had worked monoros etc, as for brakes and handling, I dont care, its part of the charm, I remember being about 12 or so, my brother took me for a ride in his XB falcon GS with a 700hp 460 big block, the noise, the power and the torque (lifts wheels with slicks), cant beat it, sorry :oohwoah:
  13. Ive never been in an authentic e49 (getting rare and expensive $250,000+), but a mate has a val ute with an E49 spec engine minus the webers (has 4 barrel double pumper) and it goes, responsive as anything. Another mate has a base pack charger, stock, and keeps up with his brothers NA BA xr6 manual! I could be here all day reminiscing about the cars of the 60s, 70s and 80s
  14. Old skool is the way to go if fuel was free , XA GT HO phrase 4, made 4 or 5 of them b4 the oil scare of the 70s, 450hp cleveland V8, 1400kg approx, 36 gallon fuel tank (around 140ltrs), was apparantly guarenteed 150mph out of the factory back in 1972. If only they made them into production VH E49 Charger, 265 hemi 6, tripple weber carbs, 300bhp, australias fastest 1/4mile production car untill only a couple of years ago (13.2 1/4mile im pretty sure). OLD SKOOL!
  15. Ive raced a BF XR8 ZF trans ute at heathcote in my ute, he was running constant 14.5s, I had mid 13's with a dirty single rail 4spd manual , it was stock ( I hope anyway), off the line there real doughy, hope the flash tuner and pipes fixes that? Anyway, I was feeling pretty chuffd the old would do over a new XR8, that was untill the fuel pump couldnt keep up, the single rail didnt play the game and missed top and bent 2 pushrods, still rolled through at a 14.1 at 97mph, before that had 104mph.
