Leather Interior Care?

Does anyone use anything on thier leather seats to preserve and keep them soft, my drivers seat is going dry and has got the fine cracks in it.

Any ideas on what to use on them to keep them soft?

I use the meguires leather cleaner and conditioner foam ,it works great it's a foam so easy to put on ,do it every 3months and they look tops

I use the same stuff except not the foam I just use the normal conditioner, works great and makes the leather smell pretty good too. I bought the armourall leather wipes at the beginning... used it once and threw it in the bin, did absolutely nothing.

There is no need for a conditioner with modern urethane clearcoated leather

Clean them with water or mild soap or a PH neutral leather cleaner

Guys never used anything on my Liby GT and after 2 yrs (brand new) seats where well kept, just wiped them with a damp cloth...

The F6 Rspec on the other hand - 2 months in and they have gone rather shiny, think its might be a little from always wearing jeans and maybe dry cleaning fluid on the suits, so gave some of the Meguire Foam a go today and came up pretty good...

Not bad considering KMart had a 25% off this weekend and with my mothers staff discount think I picked it up for about $12...

So hope it works well and stays well... Prob use it again once it goes shiny again...

Don't spend a fortune on the leather cleaners ... it's not necessary.

Buy a bar of pure soap, get an icecream container with luke warm water and lather up the soap in the container to make a warm soapy solution.

Dip a clean cloth in this solution and then after wringing the cloth out a bit so its not dripping, wipe the seats. Let the seats dry. That's it. You can buff it with a clean cloth later if you like.

My mate works at autobarn, got that Meguires leather foam conditioner for $16, cheap enough to buy every month or so, just have to get around to using it.

I used to use leather conditioner on my old XR8. Just massage it in with your hands, wait a few minutes, then wipe it off with a clean cloth.

Works a treat.

Hey Scott....

Question, not picking... I would have thought that using soap 'could' dry out the leather and therefore make the cracks worse???

If this isn't the case, im in with the icecream bucket and soapy water... forget the leather cleaners after this can is all used...

Doesn't the leather need moisturizers, or whatever u want to refer to it as?
