if I was u I'd get a set of aftermarket rods eg: spool rods and billet oil pump kit, if u want to do it write. that's my 2 cents look at fg rods and a set of aftermarket rods, eg: look in 'haydens rebuild' thread. then make your dessision, end of the day fg short motor is stock.. good luck mate, n dont take my comments the wrong way. kind regards Jimmy

Yeh only Reson on running wanting to have 2 tunes is I don't want to wreck the fuel tank\lines as it may corrode something etc. I drive my car daily. So yeh, Sorry John for highjacking your thread man N phsyco xrt - if u have anymore info about your experiance with e85 let us no. Oh and how may kilometers u get from a full tank, around 200-250ks?

Yeh Mick told me fuel filter will need too b changed regularly. My runin tune is on bp98 (still has my 60 pound injectors, but have billet fuel rail twin feed and modified pw surge tank- running 2 044's n turbosmart 1200 fuel reg.) also his not too keen on running e85 as the fuel is not consistant, which I already no. I will be getting a beaker to check the % of ethanol everytime I fillup at caltex servo in mornington (yes I want to try the bioflex e85 stuff as it is on pump as I live in near frankston). I have from a good sorce that e85 is hard to go off. And in the summer(hotter weather) the ethanol % is higher 80-85% And in winter it's lower 70-75%. Hopefully wen I get it tuned (e85 is 70-75%) so if the ethanol % is higher next month I won't have to worry. U no what I meen. I'll also keep u guys posted as I have nothing to hide. Jimmy Only issue is when after I runin the car.... Yes I have bigger injectors for E85 ( is bosch Indy white 1600cc ) Only prob is I want 2 tunes... The e85 will b good with 1600cc injectors but I'm not shore about bp98 pulp ( injectors too big to run bp98 ). I'm shore wen the time is write mick will work his magic n make it work, till then I gota sit tight.

how often u going to change the fuel filter? I hear every 500ks-1,000ks. and u carnt keep it in the tank long, as it gets grimie. im going to have 2 tunes, week days run e85 tune n weekend run bp98. im not shore 100% yet about tunes, just gotta focus on getting the car bak on the road, run in the freshly built motor (got runin tune sorted thanks to Mick @ Pitlane) carnt wait....to drive it, its been a month :(

Will it be fine for everyday driving on the ba wheels? I wouldn't want it to come off in a corner, as there r alot of roundabouts near home. I like to do 60-65ks threw them.

its probably just something small, throttle position senser is failing? I have never heard of that happen (shut downs) when driving, every strange. they will find the problem man. just time will tell. good luck with it anyway! if u think u got a lemon..... at lease u didnt do a headgasket. 4 weeks ago I found out I did a headgasket, car still drove sik when it happened, only noticed it drinking water say 150mils ever second day. as I checkup my car every 2nd day which is overkill but that's me, (I tighten cooler pipes if loose fill up washer bottle etc etc, the small stuff). anyways 3 weeks ago we pulled then engine out, inspected the head, its pefect! (gasket itself is slightly split) bottom end in one peace, pistons r ok all six, and all six rods a straight as a arrow! with 18 months of 340rwkw with a 3,200 stall in a glide (robbing 25rwkw, so say 365kw if it was a 4spd auto making that power with a stock motor except crow cam valve springs and being a ba (skinny rods), driving it 5 times a week to and from work. was asking for trobble. tune is perfect, I dont no what went wrong. I never heard the motor ping as (when I thrash the car I listen out for any ping/rattle, or sign of detenation, always had my ear listing incase I cop a bad batch of bp98 fuel after I fillup, n I fillup from the same servo etc.) I dont blame tune, cos if it was the tune the motor would have failed a long time ago carnt wait to get my car back from my eng builder , (hopefully will b driving again before new yrs, fingers crossed) running it in. I will be doing a full write up when I get my car back, I got nothing to hide. and carnt wait to try e85!

congrats dude! should b mooving now who did your turbo heatshields black? what did u do, paint it or.. im keen on doin the same. as my motor is out. going the stealth black look. im going to paint the turbo comp cover with engine paint (flat black) vf550 f/hight ( as I did that to stock plenum n runners and they have not changed color or started to peel). let me no if u did the same

$7,000 driveline?? a full house glide will set u back 10k min (1 piece tailshaft, shifter, etc etc) as for the ass end, u wouldnt have change from 10k so set up a 9inch conversion with all the write goodies, im not having a stab at ya worm. im not shore what spiro is running but that's my 2c also im liking this thread is getting interesting again

I got mine from ozwreck in dandy for $600 (n/a long motor), but im selling it now! as my turbo motor is still alive...as im going to rebuild that. if anyone wants a n/a long motor let me know, im chasing $500 pickup from dandy

It takes time *Beep*, I had convertor issues with a dominator as kewish recomended only came out 3 times till I lost the plot and got a tce, which I wanted in the 1st place... Anyway I was going to keep it a secret I have gathered a new fuel system similar to phsyco xrt. With Turbosmart 1200 series fuel reg, 80 pound seimen injectors, custom billet fuel rail, Gona re adadise is though maybe black or red(suit the rockercover). And a extra 044 but I am not shore who can modify my pw surge tank/ welding another bracket, in Melbourne. And getting the write fittings and lines. Also change the fuel tank lines to something more suitable for e85. Im keen on trying the caltex servo in mornington. Doing this all next yr. Saving for a bottom end n highfliwing 3540. Maybe get a new head as I have done a headgasket :( Never ends. Lol

guys take it easy 2nite, I was on the way home from my cuz engagement in springvale, decided to go hwy (on my way 10.45pm) anyway its early and saw some white vett doing hoops near cemetery (dump cnt) nearly looses it, in all lanes. then saw a white marked ss (hidding for later) further down (dandy way), I think there will b heaps of cars out n kops, just cruise and u wont get hassled. roads are dry and is mint 2night, but I cbf 2night. g/l ppl
