  1. Jet, I'm a self confessed fishin junkie I have owned quite a few different boats in my time and all boats are a compromise and I agree with the previous posts where aluminium maybe a good boat to start with. Just be careful as these guys have their problems too, corrosion. If your looking at one be sure to have a look under the floor for corosion, I have seen so many with sever corossion down the centre keel inside. I'm not having a dig at the Quintrex but I've been in a few late models and all of them suffer from broaching which is a pretty scary feelling even for the experienced and the build quility in my opinion has dropped. I can't believe their only stich welded on the gunnels. Vic
  2. I can confirm that Toyota here in OZ are on shaky ground as they are losing approx $3k for every Camry exported due to the dollar!!
  3. Just follow the steps in the above thread, I did and my baby looks amazing and so easy to maintain.
  4. I experienced this for the 1st time today, quite a hot one in Syd and didn't drive it hard but ben out for a few runs prior so he got a bit hot plodding around the local streets after voting. Looks liek they have done some work in this area on the FG as the BF never did this.
  5. Every tyre guys has told me the same story, the manufacturers quote the lower pressures basically to provide the comfort.
  6. I'm running 42 on the front and 40 on the back. Just found that 40 was a tad soft on the front with hard cornering.
  7. I used it for the 1st time on my new FGT and will never go back. I had a few light spider web type scratched where the bloody dealer must of washed it with a dirty sponge. Anyway this is the process I went thru Washed the car Dried it Claybar it Washed it Did 2 coats of Z5 Did 3 coats of Z2 Finished up with Z6 I got friendly with the guys at http://www.carcareproducts.com.au as was considering on finishing with the Zaino CS product but persudaed me to try this one, basically same as CS but nearly half the price. http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/optimum/opti_seal This way I just need to apply the Opti seal once every 4-6mths and I'm done. Bottom line the Zaino stuff is great. You may want to check this thread out as well. http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...c=48592&hl= Cheers, Vic
  8. I got a new FG T and drive it daily. I'm pretty much restricted to a larger rear wheel drive due to the family and to tow the boat. The way I look at it, I've got an awsome car that leaves my old BA XR6 for dead for much the same fuel economy. Better still it will be better when I get a custom tune done win win all around.
  9. Previously I've always used the Mothers 3 step process, Clear,Sealer & wax. But after reading this I may change my ways. I have a new FG T and was planning to detail it next week. Would I be right in taking this approach; 1) Clay the car with Bilt Hamber Auto clay 2) Seal with Zaino Z2 3) Wax with P21s There shouldn't be any need to polish it?
  10. I got a FG T in the Nitro and mine is pretty good. What I've noticed is the enamel colours seems to be worse than the metalics.
  11. Join the club, only had my FG for 4 weeks and on Wed idiot side swiped the front guard and no surprise no note. I can't believe it,, had my BA for 4 yrs and nothing and this happens in just 4 weeks absolutely pissed. Some people have no respect anymore.
  12. Get it checked out as they are now aware of it. Also you don't want to damage your CV's
  13. Picked the car up last night and looks like the issue has been resolved. Apparently they claim that when the motor was installed into the car it was a bit off centre I.e the drive line wasn't centred and causing the issue. They loosened the motor, gearbox, diff mounts and re aligned everything and re tensioned it and she's good as gold. I suggest you take it right in as you could do some damage to you CV's and tailshaft.
  14. Congrats Nashy, exactly the same as mine. I've had mine for 4 weeks and I just keeps on getting better
  15. Too bright and is hard on the eyes!!!!
  16. No probs will give an update on Thursday. Just curious does yours only seem to do it when doing a right had turn only?
  17. Just an update as I took it to the dealer today and they agreed something is not right. Spent the day on the car and were unable to find the issue. They rang Ford and their apparently their flying a technician up to go over it and resolve the issue next Thursday. I have to say I'm impressed with the level of service.
  18. What do you mean by the DREADED DIFF BUSH?
  19. Don't think so as the TC light doesn't come on. It's quite a disturbing sound as you can feel vibrations come thru the floor.
  20. Thanks for the info. Slowly getting to know my T, previously had a BA XR6 and jumping into the T is a whole new world. Went for a fish just past Lithgow yesterday and had a blast on the Bell Of Lines Road.
  21. I got the auto and loving it. Be curious to hear how others are changing gears in manual mode on the auto I.e do you back off the power before changing or just shift the lever while powering?
  22. I really dislike the FG steering wheel and preferred the BA one. The FG is not round, skinnier and feels cheap. Can't let it slip thru your hands like the BA.
  23. Loving my T and currently done 1500kms and have noticed an alarming issue. When taking a corner accelerating a bit harder I'm getting like a grinding noise which sounds like its coming from the back of the gearbox or diff. It only happens when you apply a bit more power and as soon as you back off the power it goes away. I was wondering if anyone else has been experiencing this? Also anyone been experiencing other issues?
  24. Thanks guys for the replies. So the initial oil they put in is different.
