  1. White BA? 6T @ HeathCote this morning parked...
  2. I know this may sound weird, but have you tried changing the battery? see the thing is, mine was not starting every now and then, but, no warning lights on the dash ever showed anything charge or battery related or had any issues, I noticed the power windows were slow for the last 6 months, as the car was still running I thought it was ok. I then was driving a few days ago and the ETC (electronic throttle control) light came on and the car went into limp mode and was firing not on all pistons. It seems that the whole electronics in the car appear to be very sensitive, I.e. I think it actually needs more battery power for the firing, than, to turn the starter motor. Just a thought..... hope this helps.
  3. I would have to say, that it sounds nothing like the stock exhaust setup, and, I would have to say, you definitely get more power, after driving around for a week now (1000km's), it's snapping second soooo much harder and I'm hitting an extra gear in sections of roads I couldn't normally get to, unless I've become super awesome and can all of a sudden drive heaps better, there is definitely a power increase. For ~$100 (virtually free if you cut and weld yourself), I think you will be impressed, and, this mod isn't a "tampered with" exhaust, because it is actually a restricting point in the exhaust and you are freeing up flow (documented on here numerous times and I personally agree from experience). In saying that, mines a BFII... For the sound alone, I wouldn't hold back, if you are like me, and live in pure manual tiptronic land all day everyday and never have it in drive, it is quite a nice sound just idling around town and slowing down at the lights with the "pops n burble"... love it. Has reignited my passion for the beast again
  4. oops, I meant to write 4 out of 5 well, it has nearly a tonne of km's on it... so I dunno.
  5. I must say.... That is the best $95.00 I have spent @ The Muffler Centre, Fairy Meadow NSW. In reading other posts, I thought I would cover the others with these observations and thoughts: 1st thing you notice when you start it is a dramatic increase in DB. Isn't stupidly loud, and doesn't sound like a crapadoor with a chev badge (gee I hate that). 2nd thing, is that when you are idle, there is minimal difference, but still noticeable, between muffler and pipes sound, which in my opinion is a good thing. 3rd thing, there is a slight bit of power. I can only imagine maybe 5 to 10 KW's, but I reckon there is a bit more (unconfirmed) 4th things, when you smash it from 1st, the 500 to 3k rpm has an increased loudness inside the car and the gear change is more audible now so someone outside the car would be able to tell if you are in D or in manual sports shift mode from the slight drone in the gear change when in D. 5th thing, and I think this is the best, is when you are slowing down at a medium/slow rate, the note and the pop's / burble are amazing for price spent, nice and clear and sounds tuff and not drony. 6th thing, this mod doesn't make the car sound like a drone!!!! sounds awesome!!!!! 7th thing, the price, I spent 150 on a new intake box which didn't do hardly anything from a sound or performance perspective me thinks, but this is def worth it. 8th thing, just took out a bit of weight aswell These are my initial reactions..... but.... time will tell I guess. I give this mod rating a 4 out of 10 purely on price + head turns. ... End
  6. According to Ford it was an "intake hose" and two other minor hoses, I didn't query becuase they were only $20.00 each, I doubt now looking back at it that they actually needed doing. Brakes can wait, I took the front wheels off the other day (long story) and looked at the pads and rotors and they looked like plenty of pad and the rotors had no etching, so stuff them. Haven't touched the lifters, how would you tell without taking the cover off? Never been mentioned to me before, best searching or new topic it.
  7. Hmmm super worried about the mounts now.... yeah, I'll be taking to anywhere but there.... insane. Driving it like a valet now (much to my dissapointment).
  8. Well... It appears that it was the Engine mount for the Vibration, apparently $270.00 each plus labour. I haven't got the car yet, since the total quote for 90,000km service + stock brakes (rotors and pads all round), 3 hoses, a few lights and the mounts came to $2500.00. All apparently wear and tear.... I don't have a lazy 2.5k to spend on fixing this at the moment... so, I am now wanting to know what the damage will be if I don't get the mounts done for say, the next month or so and drive the car relatively easy but still do my normal KM's? Thanks to all the help so far, much appreciated...
  9. Awesome, sweet, thanks. Will definately know when all is good n Ford'd
  10. Sorry about the wait in response, absolutely swamped @ work. Thanks for the replies, calmed me a little. Ill post back the answer when I get a chance, flying all around the place atm so won't be able to update for a few weeks. How would I, not a mechanic, but pretty handy on the tools check these two items? Thanks
  11. Hi, I'm flat out stumped. Car = BF MKII 2007 XR6T, only F6 intake done. Usage = 200km's per day during the week, half @ 110kph, other half traffic light rubbish. Style of driving = Hard but attuned to the cars bad sounds and clunks, push it hard but if it feels "bad" I don't do it again.... Symptoms = Selecting Drive or 1st and 2nd in Sports mode when stationary I have a massive vibration throughout the hole car. If I select Neutral it seems to me like it sounds and feels like a shaft with something around it just slightly touching it and making an annoying quite sound and vibration, very slightly noticed but nonetheless annoying. I don't have any slippage between gears. I have serviced the car every 10,000km's or less with Ford and had the diff oil replaced @ 30,000 and only use Fully Synthetic Oil. Car pulls hard in First and when I stall it up a little the noise and vibration goes away. I have this sinking feeling my box is fried!!!!!!!! Any thoughts? I specifically didn't do any mods to this car so I could smash it a bit and not "break" things. If it is the box, ill be changing cars.... Ford Forums was the main reason for getting this type of car and box.... Thanks in advance if anyone can help...
  12. 07/BF/MKII - no tune - 72,000kms.... so completed 40,000kms since Late January 2010. I drive this car pretty hard, in saying that, only the rear bushes (both sides) were cracked and as usual the ball joints and light globes and that's about it. I am truly amazed at how much punishment these cars can take and just keep on keeping on. I do use fully synthetic oil and do regular 5,500rmp gear shifts in manual mode. 90% of driving in tiptronic manual mode, 10% in D. Stall it up nearly every set of lights. Been through a set of rotors and pads, but do brake hard and alot. Got FK452's on. I do look after this vehicle very well, wash it every second weekend (just about) and service it more than I should. If I had a wrx or evo or something then I can say without a doubt they would have blown up by now and smoke would be p!ssing out the exhaust from the rings being shot.
