  1. Superdan, the original price you got quoted was more than reasonable, but the offer below is just awesome! I think the answer is pretty clear here...
  2. Looks like a good deal IMO. There's still a few things needed as mentioned above, but it's still a good price. If you were to pay someone purely for fitting, you'd be looking at an absolute minimum of $1000 and then you'll need to consider a tune as well.
  3. Just saw your post! Followed the link, and that's very reasonable pricing! Thanks for the advice everyone!
  4. Thanks for the advice all! Whistler6, I'm assuming that's a drive-in drive-out price? Mines not on a car ATM, so I was hoping it'd be a little cheaper than that.
  5. That's pretty cool right there!
  6. Agreed! Best show on TV ATM!
  7. How'd you go with it all mate?
  8. I think it's an idea that has potential, but you would have to pick your suburbs quite well. I couldn't see any more than about $15 being achievable though.
  9. Is this hard to do? My work laptop is about 2 months old now, and EVERYTHING I try do install in it has issues. I'd love to get back to XP but have no idea how!
  10. Now THAT would be awesome!
  11. I personally think it'd be cheaper to simply change cars. BA 4sp auto to ZF6sp sounds hard enough, but then add in the fact that yours is a factory manual as well, it'd be quite alot of work.
  12. Agreed!
  13. That's the exact kit I'm running - the same PWR kit can be found for about $50 less at Supercheap etc. I bypassed my radiator, and as I couldn't be stuffed getting under the car to top up the trans, I simply filled the cooler with fluid before I popped it in. From memory the cooler took over half a litre.
  14. If I'm not mistaken, aren't genuine Metal cats ADR approved?
  15. Good luck with Ford Customer Care mate. If you're having no luck with the dealer, generally this is the best way to go.
  16. Hi All, I've read the stickies, and had a bit of a search, but I can't actually find anywhere that anyone's mentioned the actual cost of the wastegate mod. The turbo is not on the car, so I was just wondering if anyone knows the price if I take the turbo in? Thanks, Justin.
  17. Great result there mate, and good on you for sharing the information! I've now got my turbo conversion parts complete, so this has been very helpful!
  18. I'm not usually one for Expensive Daewoo bashing, but I drove a VE Commo for about an hour yesterday - what an overrated, hyped up piece of garbage. It still has the same crappy thrashy engine feel, the thing is under damped, and flops it's great mass about in a nice wallowy fashion, during which time you're cocooned in acres of cheap tacky plastic. Nothing falls easily to hand, the handbrake is retarded, and rear vision is non-existent, while forward vision is severely impaired by the biggest A pillar I've ever seen!
  19. Lamest test ever! Saw this the other day and just kinda thought, well derrr! The car was never designed to run on 91. Granted it is a valid comparison though.
  20. I think it would be cheaper (or nearly) long term to convert your car to a 6 speed once you factor in transfer costs.
  21. I personally don't think it's unreasonable mate. They are a business and they do need to make money. And as has been said above, once you break it all down, you're really not talking about that much.
  22. private9 replied to O2STOCK's topic in Ford 4.0L N/A
Exactly! Gotta wish there was an easier way though!
  23. Saw an FG XR6 loaded with people and trade plates ripping single peggers (or trying to anyway) around corners today! Spotted an FG XR8 ute as well a few days back, and I must say they both looked much better in the metal than the pics suggest.
