Go the cooler and retune if that's reaching the top end of the power you are looking for. If chasing more, get injectors etc ready to install and do all the changes at once. That way you will not be shelling out for tuning with every change. On the other issue, I stated this before on a number of occasions: It should be mandatory to flash the car back to stock for a day every 2 - 3 weeks. That way, you keep some perspective on the increased performance of the car. Like most of you, the power now feels, er, normal.

The first issue sounds like boost fluctuation. I'll leave that to the tuning experts. It can, however, be minimised/eliminated by a custom tune. The second sounds like an increase in the intake charge temps has caused the computer to change timing/fuel etc. Now this is a good thing. The software is basically protecting your engine. Pain in the arse, absolutely. It will only get worse between now and the hottest summer days. The best way to combat this is to get a decent larger capacity intercooler. There are a number of good options detailed on this site.

Bugster, The mad man tune will kill the box. The time taken for this to occur will depend mainly on driving style and circumstances. I agree with you that you should get the tune since Nick is already working on the car, but ask for more conservative tunes in the other slots. What will happen though, is that you'll enjoy the tough tune's drivability so much, that you'll rarely take it out. And that's where the gearbox issue comes in......

It wouldn't surprise anyone once you've seen Turtle drive. You see, turtle doesn't have an accelarator in his ute. It's an on/off switch. Either fully engaged or fully off. Impressive usage though.

try flash it back in first and see if it does it again if not great if so see if after half an hour or so the air comes to life? seen it twice in qld? sixrt + turtle33 I had this once when flashing in a particular map. All was OK the next time I flashed the same map back in. Try the 10PSI map again before sending the flashbox back to CAPA.

That is correct. You are running higher boost levels and greater timing advance in these tunes, so a higher octane fuel will ensure that the mix goes bang when it's supposed to.

It is possible but I wouldn't recommend it. Basically, when you first download the edit, it uploads you factory tune into the box and locks it in. You can have the F slot cleared, but only 5 times before the box has to go back to CAPA/US to be cleared. Therefore, every time you have the F slot cleared, the box looses "a life". Most people flash the factory tune back in before a service, if they still have standard injectors in place.
