(I'm sure it was and XR6 Turbo) and I swear I saw the letters APS under the XR6 Turbo badge. Am I right or was I just seeing things.. Does this Police car have an APS kit of some sort? Really caught me by suprise.

Torque gets heated
Well, that just goes to show that the general public is pretty stupid! Our new Prime Minister is John Howard, so I can only agree with your comment. This idiot from HSV has some problems, if these quoted 0-100 times are correct for the Typhoon it will blow his sh*tty HSV's out of the water. And when she sheds some weight, boy will it fly. Paul I voted for Howard, so that makes me stupid. I shoulda just bought a crummydore then, since I'm that stupid. In regards to Cretan, is it possible that he may be worried about public perception when the Typhoon comes out. HSV want everybody to think that V8's are the be all of performance cars, but with the Typhoon coming out, maybe this may change. Doutful though. I think he's just pissed off that they can't make a turbo charged 6 to sell.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
I haven't played GTA:SA myself, but I have watched my brother play it. I must say that it does get jerky at some stages (especially with alot of cars crashing nd you're in the middle of it). But other than tht the gme looks pretty fine. My brother seriously thinks it's "way way better than Vice City or GTA3". From what I've seen I tend to agree. Here are some things I've seen and I like: The Gangster talk is "fo real homes". The radio stations are as good as always, with cammio interview appearences by old rap legends like Ice T etc. You have low riders, with working "lift car up thingidy jigs". You can even change the interiour, add some graphics on the side etc. Oh, and add nitrous. Gotta love the blue flames out of the exhaust. Full shick mate. In some missions you have to dance the low rider hehe.. was funny to watch. Also have to dance your character aswell.. You can swim now, without drowning, unless you run out of swim energy. You can go to a takeaway joint and eat. You can go to the gym and burn off the fat and do some body building. If you eat and don't exercise at the gym, your chracter get's fat. If you exercise, your chracter can get as cut as "arnie schwarcnhamberger". The play area is fricken huge. There are 3 basic zones, with small towns etc added to the mix. My broher is currently still in the first area and he reons it takes "about 5 minutes to get from one end to the other". Can't imagine how long it'd take to do a whole loop of the whole map. The map is huge. After a certain amount of missions, you are allowed to break into any house you want.. hehe Apparently at a later stage, when you get access to n airplane, if you wander out to sea, an F16 fighter jet shoots you down. Oh the game arcades (pool halls). You can go in here to play a game of pool for money. Pretty good game on it's own. If ou loose just bash up the opponent to get your money back, but I think he won't wnt to play against you again . You can even play the arcade games. Not as simple as the turkey punching game in Doom 3. Full on early 90's arcade games with high scores etc. Brillient. There are litterely dozens of easter eggs (funny kewl stuff added just for kicks). These include bigfoot, ghost cars, ghost of the characters grand mother etc. more more more... With all this stuff, even if it did stutter now and then, the game is still worth trying out. Can't wait for the PC version though. I think it'll be tooooo addictive. Would be great to play on the PC with one of those multiplayer patches. Could get rather interesting in that respect (play pool against a buddy, shoot him if you loose, etc)

Need a new video card
As far as graphics cards go, I'm an Nvidia man myself. But IMO, both ati and nvidia have brillient cards. The only thing I'll suggest is that you go for at least a 256MB video card. Also try and get the best card you can afford. The idea is to future proof it for as long as possible. As far as that goes, my GeForce FX 5950 Ultra card, is about 8 or so months old, has 256MB, and I recon it'll be able to handle games for atleast the next couple years.

50km/h zones
I think the new 60km/h limit on Northbourne Ave is too slow. This new speed limit is because of the new cycle lane now incorporated into the road. I agree about northbourne. It seems to be more of a "traffic jam" since the new speed limit. I Put it down to some people driving the old speed limit (70), catching up to those driving the new limit (60), causing some traffic congestion. (even though Canberra hardly has any traffic anyways)

50km/h zones
Personally, I think that so far it seems that the speed limits around Canberra are about right. Normal streets are 50km/h. Main suburben street at 60km/h. Main artirials at 80km/h. The odd 70km/h and 90km/h areas. The 100km/h areas are about right too. The rest of you must think I'm insane, or "smoking the weed" or something I put it down to the fact that Canberra roads are generally the most well maintained (they are in good condition generally), roads around. Is it possible that the lowered speed limits on certain roads are a case of bad roads getting worse? Or am I just wrong here.

Resident Evil: Apocolypse
Internet Movie Database gives it a 5.7/10 from almost 5,000 votes, so I guess I'll wait for the DVD release to come out in the video stores.

Premium Sound
It was an N15 series II. It was such a good car, that my dad bought it off me rather than let me trade it in on the T. My brother was pretty happy about that.

Mobile Phone Throwing
I recon some of the australian cricketers would seriously challenge that record. I personally, have thrown a cricket balll over 50m's when I was in year 8 or 9. But buggered if I could throw like that again. My right elbow isn't upto the task anymore. As far as throwing mobile phones, anything with the brand name Nokia has been thrown by me. They are the most unreliable peices of crap around.

Macka's Shaker vs XR8 Pod/BPT Adptr vs GEEA's CAI
I actually watched "rides" on the dicovery channel a few weeks ago and it had some big ass Ford SUV being modded for the mod shop ownders wife. They put a seriously sexy shacker on it. It was molded into the bonnet sorta thing and it did shake when wanted . This SUV was a beast. They supercharged it and everything. That got me thinking. Anybody considered modifying the bonnet bulge of the XR8 etc bonnet's, into a shaker. Having the bulge shake would be fricken nice IMO (with air intakes added to it ofcourse). Maybe macka shaker V2.

Premium Sound
@ NYOPA yep, the general rule is to get 3db you have to double what you have For thos who may not know (I only read about this a few days ago) here is how db ratings apparently work ( may be wrong, cause I'm using my failing memory here). eg. 6db is double the output of 3db, 9db is double the output of 6db, 12db is double 9db etc etc. Some interesting db facts. http://www.pegasusrotorcraft.com/supportdo...oundRatings.pdf http://www.lhh.org/noise/decibel.htm My Pulsar SSS's sound system was in the 130's ( I think it was 132db or something, done at one of those db rallies). The subby box that did this was a hypobaric type with 2 x 10" rockford Fosgate Punch subbies in a push pull setup. The amp was rated at 50 watts continueous (can't remember if it was per channlel or total). Been a while, but I think it was 250 watt 4 channel amp in normal speak (2 channels bridged for the subbies and other 2 channels for front speakers). I'm actually thinking of putting the subby box into the T, with a new amp for it etc. I doubt it'll reach the db heights of the Pulsar SSS (sss smaller space, hatchback apparently an advantage). But maybe this time I'll up the amps to full (they were always on 2/3 in the pulsar) or just get bigger amps . Anyways, I've attached a picture of the subby box, with an A4 sheet of paper to show the scale of it. Amazingly capable, 5 year old, box, considering it's compact size. The box doesn't even rattle yet

30000 service cost
You're getting ripped off. My 30,000 service cost me under $200. As usual they are trying to squeeze more money out of the customer. When I went for the 30k service they actually asked (lady from the dealership rang me) if I would like the aircon "smell cleared" etc and I just told them that if that had to be done, that it's a warrenty issue. As far as labour costs for a service goes, I had a look at some of my invoices, and the most labour has cost me is $84. The service ooklet actually has a list of "extra" stuff in terms of time it should take when they service an XR6T etc. EDIT: clarified a point or 2

post your desktops
Here's one I just took of my dual monitor desktop. Pretty basic really. But I do like the tank backdrop quite alot. I can't get over the detail in it. A pic I took on the snowy cruise is the backdrop on the second monitor.

Paper bag or rock?
A few weeks ago, I had to drive my car to work (had things to do straight after work). Canberra people will know the Dunlop area (alot of new houses getting built here). Anyways, I drive out of one of the development areas and just over a crest on the road, at 80km/h I see a largish rock on the road. No time to react, couldn't swerve because of oncoming traffic, then a split second decision, I can't brake in time, so just go over it, thinking that it wouldn't be high enough to be collected. Wrong... Bang bang bang is what I heard. I curse my head off, stop the car, get out and go get the rock. On the walk to the rock, a bloke walking his dog says "I saw that rock fall off the truck". I think to myself "Why the hell didn't you get it off the road". Anyways, I had a look and it seems that the front defuser, under the spoiler was low enough the collect the rock and make it do a dance. Oh well.. Sometimes things happen and you justv can't help it.

F6 Tornado
You're wrong. Just got the October FPV mailing list email and there will be the F6 Typhoon (sedan) and an F6 Tornado (ute). From the pictures, the ute looks seriously mean.

More scary war footage
I saw some footage on the news yesterday. Pilot says something like "group of people in the street" then he asks for permission to take them out. The confirmation only took about a second, then he bombs them and in the background you can hear a small bit of cheering, for a split second. The pommy pilots weren't wrong when they said that the american pilots are just a bunch of bloody cowboys.

Premium Sound
The premium sound is bloody awesome for what you pay for it. I have my bass about 2-3 notches below full and the treble is the same. Also have loud on and set on Studio. Have fade set 2 notches to front. Even the most demanding metal (soulfly, iced earth, Opeth, Fear Factory etc) with bass etc copes well to about 14-16. What do you expect from an 8" subby? The first thing I'd change is the subby, but for what it is, it does a remarkable job, especially when watching a Movie with heaps of explosions in the car. I know that it is capable of rattling the rear spoiler quite well. As far as australian factory car sound goes, premium is the best. All that said, compared to my previous 135db+ setup in the pulsar, this system can't touch it. Why? because on the previous system, even the worst recorded albums sound brillient. With the premium sound if the recording is substandard, so is the sound output. My first step in upgrading the premium sound is to install the hypobaric twin 10" subby enclosure that the pulsar had (that's what produced 135db+ from a pissy 50watt, continueous, amp), into the xr. Then add a decent amp for the subbies. After that maybe add some better speaker+tweeters then further down the track amps for the rest of the speakers. If you want amazing sound, you'll have to pay more than the $950 that the premo sound costs.

Quarter mile times wanted
Nah, not melbourne, I recon canberra isn't too bad for the T's. Pity there are no drag strips here. But nothing beats a cold canberra winter morning/evening.. Vrooooooom. Although I wonder how well the Tassie T's fare.

URGENT! PHANTOM Wedding Car needed
I'd like to thank the drivers of the XR6 T's for their help today. Quite a few people at the reception talked about the cars The reception was pretty good. I only got home about 5 minutes before writing this and I must say that it was one of the better nights in my life so far.. Seeing the youngere brother getting married was a great feeling. I actually got up to dance a few times. I never dance!.. Anyways thanks again to the drivers, YCL, Falchoon, aaronmihe and ofcourse ms700. Oh and it seems that news travels fast at weddings. I went up to a cousin, meantioning the price of ms700's brakes and to my astonishment the news already got to him before. I'll post the official driver photo with the bride and groom as soon as I get my hands on it Oh and some of the pics I took of the cars and those interfering bikes.

URGENT! PHANTOM Wedding Car needed
Oh, Phantom XR8 would do quite well.. But if all fails, merc silver will have to be it's replacement (digital trickery can make this colour look phantom quite easily).

URGENT! PHANTOM Wedding Car needed
I've actually messaged god666 that I won't be using his car. I'd be too nerve racked having my gonnads on the line, with me not being the driver (I don't trust anybody to drive my car). Plus, the long weekend would be nerve racking for God666 with the keys of his beast in someone elses hands ( know it would be for me). I've gotta thank god666 for the effort though.
