An XR6T wagon would be really great, but I can't see Ford making one. The series I run of 500 SS wagons took a while to sell them all, and this year they're only making 300. Love the wagon, can cart all your family, dogs and crap, yet still have a sporty thing that hauls ass.
  2. What a load of crap. I just can't wait to see this, we are ready and waiting, are you prepared to put your money where your mouth is. Peter APS You have such a professional attitude Peter, you're just making yourself look bad. Boss Edit is nearly here, we'll soon see...
  3. Mick, you are right - it is very impressive to get an M6 down the quarter that quick with those mods. The guy who did the driving (PlanB) is renowned for being very, very good down the quarter behind the wheel. To those that think NO2 was involved, you are wrong. Simple as that. XR6T13s, yes you can't compare that to an auto XR6T auto. My apologies again, I was just going from memory about that car. There are several auto guys on the forum though with shift kit, edit tune, diff gears and on street tyres running mid 12's, after spending about $3500 on mods. There's quite a few threads about it over on LS1. Both cars have great potential for not little outlay. When you guys get an Edit type product look out, you guys will start going quick(er) like the LS1's did.
  4. Mick, Here is the thread on LS1.com.au: http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php...&highlight=12.5 I was a little wrong, it was 12.58 and a manual SV8. "Justice R8" owns the car - or should I say it's his girlfriends car Sorry, it also had a diff ratio change as well. I was just going from memory until I looked up the thread again.
  5. Yes, there is a lot of variation, probably due to driver skill. I also know of a Maloo that's run 13.0 with just a tune on street tyres
  6. Yes, a mafless tune should get you around 300kw (anywhere from 215 - 245rwkw). It's not just the power, a tune disables abuse mode, adjusts torque management etc, all which slow the car down. The car I mention that ran 12.5 with just a mafless tune (stock exhaust) has 225 rwkw, but that was with slicks and a good driver. The norm you would expect is low 13's from just a tune, depends on driver, tune etc.
  7. XR6T13s, there have been LS1's running 12's with just a mafless tune ($1500) and nothing else, stock exhaust etc, so you're not quite correct there.
  8. According to Expensive Daewoo website the SS Manual weighs 1658kg, and the wagon weighs around 60-90kg more than a sedan, so I'd guess somewhere around 1720-1750kg. By the time you add driver (95kg) + fuel etc you're pushing 1900+.
  9. WTF???? Do you know what the rwkw was without the chip? :o Hope that the car has freed up as a mid 13sec with 212rwkw does not make sense One of the Vic guys had his manual T dynoed at APS stock and got 206rwkw which was the high end of a stock car, average is about 190rwkw. I am just surprised at only 212rwkw, I would suggest that it should be very different next time on the dyno :o By the way Congrats on the time that is awesome! JB, there are LS1's running 12.5's on street tyres with only around 220rwkw. Of course they are autos with stallies, but it can be done.
  10. As a Tassie boy, and just came back from spending 2 weeks there (with the car), you guys will love the twisty roads and the scenery. For those of you who use 98 octane, you'll only be using 95 whilst in Tas. BTW if you want to go to Cadbury's factory, you have to book months in advance...

Sorry Cro, but that is funny mate  Getting a good launch is everything, it's a different story if it's a rolling start. I reckon a V6 would hose me from the lights until maybe 50-60 clicks, but after that it's goodbye.
  12. I see that you've had a power increase, have you dragged her yet Drew? Scotty CCC No haven't dragged her mate. I was going to LS1 nationals but had to pull out due to family commitments. I'll make it to WSID some time I guess to see what it can do, although it would need a decent driver who can launch to get a good time Redhawk, I use the back to carry spare sets of pistons for the slapping. j/k - actaully haven't used a drop in 15k.
  13. My current ride Or GTO Coupe, VN Group A, VP SS or VP Clubsport.
  14. If done correctly a dual intake should work well. I don't know the sensor arrangement on a T, but if you have a sensor somewhere in the standard intake, you might want to duplicate it on the 2nd intake if that's possible - although it shouldn't make too much difference as you'd think the air from either side should have the same temp etc.

Cro, I thought you were from Sydney? Have you seen the light and moved to Canberra? I'll have to keep an eye out for you on the roads (for a friendly wave of course )

Would be good if they did make an XR6T wagon. They're making another run of the SS wagons for series II VY, so obviously they're selling ok.
  17. Good time there. What rwkw are you putting out with the phase 3 kit?
  18. Don't get the StreetPilot III, it's an old model. The 2610 is the current model, I ordered one from the US with all US + AUS maps for less than you buy the old model in Aus, and it's a much better unit. The 2610 is a fantastic unit.
  19. I just bought one of these from the US: StreetPilot 2610 $1460 AUD with map of Aus + map of USA. Portable unit so can move between cars etc. Much, much cheaper than the VDO stuff.
  20. SS dash is clearer and better looking, day and night.
  21. Have a look at: http://www.amberleyautos.com.au Twin turbo LS1 kit 6 psi making approx 350rwkw or 10 psi making 450 rwkw. APS, regarding your comment: "G'day Robiie, The only car that I know of (not yet released) that is likely to be competitive in terms of price and performance is the twin turbo Late model camira and its around a year away from release. In the interim period the xr6t is untouchable in terms of value and performance." Are you referring to the Holden's new turbo 6 in the VZ?

I think you'll find there isn't much difference. I get sub 10 on the highway and average in the 14's around town with lots of WOT and 228 rwkw.
  23. At least there's 1 sensible person on this site! Here's your opportunity guys, most of you talk like the T could blow any Expensive Daewoo away, here's your chance, come prove it. Unlike many people on this site who are anti-Holden, the LS1 boys are not anti-Ford. We appreciate all nice cars, and you would all be more than welcome. It's going to be an awesome 2 days of drags and dyno comps.

Different strokes for different folks. I reckon the SS is a better overall package. I seriously considered the XR6T, but bought the SS instead, and I'm glad I did - it's simply awesome
  25. They had a feature on it on the channel 10 news in Canberra tonight.
