Computer Troubles!
I agree my Liege Cyric!!! A lower profile will ensure the virus payloads don't arrive on your doorstep too often. No wonder Apple afficionadoes keep their heads down. err - unfortunate turn of phrase there me thinks....

Computer Troubles!
Oh and just to embarrass dingha... Apple well and truly has its fair share of virus writers and code junkies out there making your day merry hell as well. cheers

Computer Troubles!
New Motherboard is your problem... What you have done is completely swapped the operating hardware your original XP was installed on. No wonder your having issues. Only fix is to save what you want to keep. and re-load your copy pf XP + patches (licenced of course ) Better yet, Get your self another HDD (hell they are cheap enough) and put your OS on that partition and keep your old one for your data files on ie. massive .jpg .gif libraries.... This way when the inevitable windows (although XP is not too bad!) crash occurs you have not lost everything. cheers

Whats lurking in your 'T' ?
I include a quote in the submission from Michael Wright (MP) to the government on Road Safety. Then this little gem ... Anyone like the idea that any of these devices are bolted into your pride and joy? Tracking devices !!!! Shutdown devices !!!!! I guess then the police and/or any statute authority can turn my car off under me and have me idle to a halt if they want a 'chat'. Intelligent speed adaption system !!!! Now my car won't even go fast !!!! I for one would like the option of being able to reach into the center console and turn off half these 'devices' if they are indeed being fitted to my car without my knowledge. :pooh:

Help wanted with optioning a new XR6T
Welcome to the forum Max.... As founder of Team Silhouette I can only applaud your choice. {there IS one chap who will offer advise on your doubtful parentage but just ignore him } Definately option the premium brakes. I recently experienced a track day at Mallala and my T performed beautifully. Another T with standard brakes had issues after 3 laps. Keep her washed and waxed and you will be one happy chappy. Again - welcome mate....

Paint Protection
When Puff is taking some time off from saving the world from tyranny and evil, he enjoys washing and polishing his car for a wind down. Such lines! such flanks ! Enjoyed a track day at Mallala yesterday and MissT is filthy. Its about to rain today so I'm saving up the pleasure for the weekend. oh... the shame of a dusty T Now where did I leave that cigar ????

The Next Big Thing In Safety
With all respect. This McLean guy HAS to be stopped. A too-long-in-the-chair-academic (so called) textbook surfer with waayyy to much power. The things this c r e t I n dreams up are absurd. Have a look over the Uni of Adelaide RTA web page for some of the most hilarious moronic drivel ever penned. And our pollies are buying it hook line and sinker. I dispair for right thinking and basic human reasoning. OK - my serious moment finished as well. We feel for you Vik as the father of a 14 yo daughter.

Mandarin
Brillinat ?? I like that word... what is it ?
-
Mandarin
Welcome Renaz. As the founder of Team Silhouette, may I congratulate you on a fine choice. Don't they look hot when all spanky and polished? Fills me with pride everytime I collapse onto the driveway totally exhausted from buffing the wax up to a brillinat shine. If they ever do a Terminator IV I'm in with a chance for the lead baddie.

Paint Protection
Welcome to Team Silhouette from the founder. If you check my sig I'm pathological about cleaning MissT. I did not go for the coating as I did not think it would be worth the expense. Get yourself some Meguires products and set about caressing those flanks on a regular basis. Sure its a bas*ard but the looks when she is dressed up and posing are to-die-for. And then the truck pulls out in front of you laden with building rubble..... sigh!!! cheers and welcome to the forum. Some chap called Ken will have a go at you but just ignore him. He bought silver poor sod !!!!

Apple Ipod Thread (Merged Topic)
Puffs had one for ages. Brilliantly executed mini player. I had to buy some USB2 ports for the PC for Itunes to pump files into it quicker but I'm wrapped. Also bought the iTrip FM doobrie. Piece of crap. Don't bother. Get a 3.5 to RCA lead instead and just patch it into an aux on your amp. The sound quality is brilliant. I'm using it to rip all my CD collection. AAC format seems ok if a little limiting for PC usage. WinMedia Player will not play em. Battery lasts about 4-5 hours and its skip proof. the interface is also a good workout for your thumb. All in all - I give it a 7 to 8 out of 10. That said I have not played with any other Players. I just wanted the best - bit like my car.... No affiliation with Apple at all.

Got the T on Sat
strangely disturbing icon there Ken.

The Off Topic Thread.
Its under your thumb....

Envi in the Wild.
I really wish Ford would do something about the shutline at the forward edge of the drivers door. This example looks like the car has been cut in half. Not nearly so noticeable on black cars - eh! Ken !!!

Ipods in aux stereo ports
Puffnstuff has an iPod 20 G. I'm sure it has many PDA functions but I'll need to have a further look at it tonight and let you know what they are. As a 'fancy jukebox' it is just fantastic. I use it on the run and also connect it up to the aux on my home stereo. Can't fault the playback. AAC and MP3 files playback crisp and clean. The interface is first class The FM transmitter (iTrip) is a piece of crap. Don't bother. limited range (10-30 feet to stay within Fed licencing specs), and the FM receiver can't hang onto the signal without lots of noise. BTW - I have no affiliation with Apple at all. I too will look into hooking it up with MissT aux input at sometime in the near future....
-
Got my new T!
{ Puff wades in like a Boys school teacher of old (leather elbow cardigan intact) smacking heads with a yard stick } Stop it this instant boys. Black is the one true colour. Black is ALWAYS the best colour and Black WILL prevail. Ken and his ilk have HgAg cars cause its Light Black and could not quite come the heavier Grey. Their choice and a fair one Welcome to the gang Cmdwedge { Puff disappears out the classroom door in a swirl of black cape cloth }
