  4. I Swear I replied to this earlier... Anyway, Yeah KeepLeft, my car originally had the 18s on it from the factory. I upgraded them to the F6 wheels after about 18 months. I dont remember there being a big difference between them at the time, but over the last year or so ive noticed it getting really bumpy and alot of road noise.
  5. Hi Guys, I have the BF Typhoon 19s on my XR6 Turbo and am wondering how people go with long distance touring on wheels this size? I am doing the big drive around Australia in September and expect to clock up ~17000KMs. The current tyres are the OEM Dunlop SP Sport Maxx on two and the other two are Maxxis MA-Z1s, all with 40-50% tread on them, all kept at 40psi. I have noticed in the last year or so (I have had them about 2 years) that they have become rough as guts, banging over bumps in the road and getting really noisy, especially on coarse chip roads. Is this a sign of "off" tyres? My partner's 06 super pursuit doesnt feel this rough with 6 month old Bridgestone Adrenalines, though its hard to compare with the leaf springs, V8, etc. I guess I have a couple of questions im trying to ask here: How do you guys with FPVs go doing long drives on outback roads with the 19s? Comfy and Quiet or Rough and noisy? Can ~3 year old tyres go "off" while still having ~40% tread, making them noisy and rough? I am planning to buy a new set of tyres before I leave (assuming the old ones are off) - what would people recommend for touring while still having reasonable grip for a turbo? I do still have the 18's here that came with the car, whos tyres would need replacing prior to use, but I think the 19s would be better on the trip because I have a set of five - so a full size spare - something I wont have with the 18s (17" steel spare). Look forward to some opinions. Cheers, Michael
  6. Happy Birthday KryZak!

  7. The catalogue is available online here. Cheers, Michael
  8. It isnt even a BF Mk2 as advertised. It has the Mk1 tyre print seats in it!
  9. lol, my breather hose did that too recently. Took it into the dealer I bought it from complaining it felt down on power. No Fault or Error Codes found. I took it home and decided to check everything myself and found that before I had even fully opened the bonnet. Useless...
  10. No worries mate. Yeah, poor quality, and not from 15 years ago. I really hope that the FG is improving and customer satisfaction is high - It means we might get another Falcon after FG. I have a BF2 XR6T, My old man has a BF2 XR6, my uncle has a BF2 XR6 and my cousin has a BF2 XR8. All of these cars have really bad build quality. The diff has been out of my car 4 times in 30k KMs, external door skins warping, poor body alignment, among other things. The XR8 has had it's manual gearbox rebuilt twice in 20k KMs and has had his ICC replaced once, among other more minor things. The 2 XR6s have had many minor issues with things ranging from interior and exterior trim falling off, CD players failing, leaking steering racks, etc. All of these were bought brand new too! Funny thing is, that if you look around here, you will also see that I am not alone in my build quality dramas. I also went and test drove a handfull of FGs (G6ET, F6, XR8) and as much as I loved the F6, it still has a diff clunk under power on, like my BF. Seems they didnt fix that problem that has been with the falcon since BA! Anyway, this is pretty far off topic now! /rant
  11. Why not fly over early on Saturday and drive it back. You can easily do Melb to Adelaide in a day with stops.
  12. Geez, ease up there bud. I said they werent affected by very much, I didnt say not affected at all. Still 2% is alot to raise it by stating the fall in the dollar as the reason. I mean Toyota and Mitsubishi are raising prices by 2.4% and 2.5% respectively, while Nissan is raising prices by between 2% and 3% and they all import the whole car! The Camry and Aurion that are built in australia, are getting no increase at all. At the end of the day, with what some would argue a poor quality product, with extremely bad after sales support, raising the prices of their cars by 2% is not going to help them win any sales races.
  13. lol, really? How are they justifying that?
  14. I think there is a thread not too old that details what people are paying for FGs. That said, id be surprised if they did up the prices by 2%. I mean they are having enough trouble shifting stock as it is! The only reason all of the import brands are raising prices is because of the fall in the dollar, which ford as a local manufacturer (for falcon) is not affected by very much. Cheers, Michael
