Sounds like you have an underlying issue that seems to be fouling your plugs but that is only a guess. If you still under warrenty get the underlying issue fixed and not let Ford Bandaid the issue (I love the word Bandaid used in that context)!!!!

Nope RDP is only high 8psi. that's all I want atm :D

Ok, Got my car booked in for a Capa Box and a RDP generic tune but what I was wondering is what else you would change to ensure the generic tune worked properly?? Would you gap the spark plugs before or after the tune? Would you change to a K&N filter?? AnChange oil to a high performance oil?? What would you guys do prior to getting the Capa box with the generic tune to ensure that there are no problems?? Am doing a power run at least after to ensure AF mix is all good!!!!

I though of something good to add!! Seeing this is a thread about Edit, what would the power be at engine and at wheels for each type of tune for a standard car. Lets say 8psi, 10psi and custom!!! Just thought that would be thing to add in a central place.

They are a really nice gauge and the stuff you get with em is really cool. I prefer the colour over the Cobalts to :fear (5):

Did you check the whole engine. Mine was fine on the top on the intake, but down near my sump it wasn't grounded properly. So you need to work your way around the whole engine :( If its not the engine, my guess would be the fuel pump or something to do with your fuel system by the sounds on it. But that's only a guess and there are so many possibilities.

It is not required that you need to read the PDS, many company do not have you sign anything as such and do most of the policy stuff over the phone. Just because there is a PDS does not require you to read it or understand it, as all special provisions should be confirmed verbally and duly noted, as the insurance had prior knowledge that you were a P plater and did not reject the policy at the commencement of the policy. As most people would not be expected to read a PDS completely as they are boring (I have read a few, lets just say) all relevant information should be expected to be told you verbally on lodgement.

I would look at the Defi Blue Racer series. Ill be posting up videos of mine soon. I Got a Defi Boost and Cobalt pressure and temp.

An insurance company cannot deny a claim if you would have an accident even if you were driving even if it was illegally due to the to power to weight law. As the law would not affect a legal contract between yourself and your insurance company that was taken out in good faith. The insurance company would need to specify in the contract or the product disclosure statement that you would not be insured if it was against the law. Even though they might state that in the contract or PDS, you could take the matter further and more then likely win. This is as per the example below Lets say you take out a insurance with XR6T insurance. You provide them with your details of licence, age and vehicle type. They do not mention that you are not insured when you have an accident due to the power to weight law. (If they do not mention it, it does not apply as they have had proior knowledge but not acted on the information) They then refuse a claim in relation to this law. You could then take this further and you would almost complete certainty win. If they provide yourself with a cetificate of insurance or place yourself on the policy as a driver and all information that you provided is accurate, the onus would therefore be on the insurance company to advise if a person is ineligable to be insured on the policy. As you have taken out insurance in good faith with XR6T insurance they would therefore be required to advise you if you would be covered by the policy. If they do not cover yourself this would be a breach of (I think) the Insurance Contracts Act as you have obtained Insurance in good faith and provided accurate and correct information which the insurance company has not properly processed. If you provided incorrect information or not obeyed the terms of your contract this would be different. Ensure that you review the terms and conditions of your contract. Even if it is written in the PDS it would need to be confirmed at some point. If they refused a claim and you advised that you did not read or understand your PDS there maybe a chance that you would still have the claim accepted, as it is not always expected that you would read the whiole PDS from front to back. Definately DO NOT QUOTE me on this as depends on a number of factors and I do not control the world and cannot say the outcome of future situation!!!

They fit right in. They are 52mm. They look great. Love the look of the defi and they were less then the Cobalts to import.

Ok, here is my 2 cents. When I was getting my gauges put in I had problems with the grounding of the car. The ground does not seem to go through properly. When I was getting it fixed I found out that the Ford Falcons have problems with the earthing and a couple of the auto electrician advised this is a common problem with the Ford. I would probably start there. If you know a sparkie or a hobbist, just get a multimeter, set it to ohms and them touch the negative terminal of ya battery to a parts of the car, if there is resistence there is a problem. My car had differences between different parts of the car and engine. I was told by a couple of auto electrician that the Falcons seem to run a little rich if they are not grounded properly, this could be the reason for the dirty butterflys Since I have had me car back from the sparkie, it runs better and even idles better not perfect but a lot better!!!!

Nope they just hook right in They look great and the colours suit the car really well and at night they blue dims to almost identical to the dash

The block is grounded but apparently not well. Multi metered it today, the top of the engine and the intake have a good ground even when hot or cold but sump is fine when its cold but when it heats up the connection goes bad. It might be dirty or just a bad connection. I think ill get an auto electrician to look at it on Saturday, its something I'd want checked professionally!

Or took me 3 days and a bucket of work but I think I have found the problem!!!! The bottom of the engine is not gounding properly!!!!! You dont want to know what I had to do to find that out!!!! Ok so my question is, where is the gound point fo rthe bottom of the engine or should I just ground the senders seperately???

It was cheaper then the Cobalt boost gauge to import and I also really liked the look of it. They make a nice group together I think.

About to go looking for the loose wire (hope its a loose wire that is easy to find)!!!!! Dont need to know about temp or pressure as found a post about it. But one last question, in the power source (Cig Lighter) is there a constant near it. I got the ignition and the lights but is there a constant power, one that's even powered when the car is off, or where would the closest one be??? Just for you all thought id add a pic :D

Got mine in Took a while getting them in and had to modify the pod but got the in the end Still setting them up. Dont have the off power sequence going on the Defi, probably wont bother with it though. Also got a loose wire somewhere But they do look nice.

Just installed my new gauges but seem to have a little problem. I was driving last night and the oil pressure just dropped to almost 0 and the engine temp just dropped a bit too, and I had a spasam. What happens is the gauges drop by about a quarter of a gauge, it seems to be a wiring problem as they flick up and down. Just wanting a hand to see what wires it would be and where I should start first??? Also what oil temp and oil pressure do peoples gauges run at?

Noice, close, im guessing its for the BF by the oil filter. I got a BA and will prob just run power from the cig as would be a little easier. But was a interesting read :D

Ill be installing my gauges on the weekend. So I was just wondering if I should get pictures and make a walkthrough. I will be using the sandwich plate and plumbing and adjusting 3 gauges. If there is no interest with people wanting a walkthrough I wont bother but I thought I would put it out there. Also just wondering what if anyone had a wiring diagram for the power source or the colour of the wires. I think ill use the cig lighter.

Just a quick question. How much to wire in 3 gauges??? I already got a Tripod, gauges on the way. One Defi and 2 Cobolts. Boost, oil pressure and oil temp, all electric. Ill prob post pics. I recon they will look nice together and will find out the hard way. Also any good shops to get it done in Brissie? I go to Redcliffe Dyno but that's a bit far. Tried Elite but they were not a competitive in price as Reddie Dyno. So any suggestions would be good!!! Thanks

I thought I would just throw my hat into the ring. I would go the AVO cooler, it seems the best value. After some research I found the sizes of different intercoolers, this is not to say the core sizes as they would be a lot harder to find and im lazy but just general cooler sizes as a guide. I am not also commenting on their effectiveness as some cores could be more effective than others but I thought it would be interesting to post it up. This information would sway me to the AVO cooler on first glance. Maybe someone would like to get core sizes and then put that up against prices and then it would be a rather good guide for cost versus effectiveness. Not sure if this will help anyone but it is interesting as a guide, I though anyway.
