yes, we are Orstrayleean, not European or Asian so we should stick with out own identity. I notice that Expensive Daewoo using SS doesn't affect it's sales at all. The original SS was a HQ with a 253 and a Belmont interior ( read: Scab Pack ) I would be VERY disappointed if it wasn't a GTHO but even more disappointed if it didn't live up to the name.

That bites.. sounds like they were using it to get lunch at a high speed. Cars will have problems, but it's how the dealers look after you with the problems that shapes your experince (unless you have a lemon of course !) As far as the wheel alignment, if it was wearing fine until *they* replaced the engine then *they* should pay for it. Starting to sound like some of the Expensive Daewoo dealerships, all excuses no customer service.

there will most likelt be a small lifter (of sorts) between the rocker arm head and the valve tip. There is usually some form of device that makes allowances for wear and tear. Otherise you would have to get the clearances checked and adjusted every service and that will cost big bucks if they need doing as it's not a hard job, but it's not a short one either. Some manufacturers use shims, I guess ford are using 'lifters' in this case

from what I can figure the silver ute was the APS car I did see a phantom xr6t ute there as well but didn't get to see it run.

interestingly enough it looks like the guys making the least power are using ULP only. It looks like the extra $ spent on premium or the 98 octane stuff id well worth it.

I had a great night !!! I have never had a functioning tacho until recently and what a difference it makes. My first run (the first run of the night) I got a 13.7 with so much wheel spin in second I had to back off. To cut a long story short, a bit of trial and error got me a best time of 13.31@106 with a best mph of 107. I saw the XR6T there too .. it was hammering along

I DO think the dyno was optimistic but that wasn't the point of the whole day. The cars were all dynoed at the same place and time so the results are comparable. It was very interesting to see the difference in cars that were for all intensive purposes the same. Great day !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have witnessed some poor sould getting a token of the TMUs appreciation ... the police car was a blueprint XR8 !! It looked very very tough!!!! As fast as a XR6T is.. it ain't faster than radio waves!

I may be very wrong.. but I think the chances of the ute being your uet are very slim. Ford obviously have the capacity to make utes identical to yours and take it to the GP. I wouldn't mark the car in any way as if you are caught you will be in deep do do. You may be charged with damaging the car or possibly even forced to buy the second ute (assuming its not yours) Take photos, look for small identifying marks.. ask to look under the bonnet.. photograph the VIN plate ..but DON'T mark it

hell... if you want it .. put it on .. it's no different really to putting a body kit on .. does nothing except to make it look better (in some people's eyes). I personally wouldn't do it ... but that's my opinion only

persoanlly I wouldn't buy a replica... I would rather spend the 25 on a genuine and fix it up.. because once it's all said and done .. one is genuine and the other isn't.

reading what someone wrote about the Xr8 and the XR6T after driving them I get the feeling the two cars are aimed at different people. I get the impression the XR6T is new and 'young' .. likely to be a cult car because of it's popularity.. the XR8 is aimed at executives with more dough or people who want to tow as well as have some straight line grunt. I reckon the XR8 has heaps more 'street cred' than the XR6T by virtue on the bonnet bulge (like it or not) .. maybe Ford should have done something other than badging to differentiate the XR6T from the NA XR6. I feel that either is as good as the other .. just arrived there in a different manner. The boy racer in me says get a XR6T ... the V8 man in me obviously says get an XR8... I will most likely go the V8 in the end.
