OK Guys, here it is. I installed my kit tonight and all is fine. Here are the steps with pics to help:

This is the bulb and the little halogen that is screwed onto it. Unscrew the bulb (not break it off by forcing):

To remove the small halogen buldyou need to cut the small black wire shown here:

And the small red wire:

Then you will have detached the small halogen. This is not needed as our headlights already have the seperate parker.

Next a little prep work. Due to the extra cabling you will need to modify the dust cap that is on the back of the headlight. You can see the cap here in original condition:

You have to remove the very centre as shown in the next two shots:

The next step is very straightforward, you need to remove the standard halogen bulbs, then fit the HID element into the headlight. Remember to feed the wires from the HID element through the silver bracket that holds the bulb into place. Once the wires are fed through, lock the HID into place with the bracket. The installed HID is seen here:

Fit the rubber dust cap over the bulb. The wires have a grommet on them so you can make a decent seal.

You now need to connect the socket from the wiring loom to the HID plug with the three metal tabs, shown here:

Now connect the other couplers together (its very straightforward):

Its very obvious where the other ends of the cables go into the Ballast, once you have connected them up, place the ballast in a safe area and fix it with some padded double sided tape. You can use the supplied brackets, but you will need to drill a hole for the bolt to secure the bracket.

Here are some pics of the result, this is 4300K kit. I believe this is perfect and will be supplied rather than 5000K as the supplier has decided to discontinue 5000K.

Here is a comparison between the HID and the Halogen High Beam

The High Beam:

And the HIDs:

As you can see, the Halogen bulbs are now redundant. Make sure you adjust the height of your Headlamps other wise yo uwill be blinding everyone else on the road.

Everything fit quite easily, you just need to have a little knowledge in removing bulbs - not rocket science. You will have to remove your battery and probably the standard airbox if you still have that just so you have enough working room

IMPORTANT Once you have installed the kit and you are ready to tuen them on, you MUST leave them on for at least 20mins so they "burn in". Also, due to their high temperature nature, HIDs are not designed to flick on and off repeatedly, so try not to switch them on and off.

Hopefully this has cleared up the confusion some people had with the installation of the kit, and after talking to the supplier a "Lo Only" kit will be supplied from now on - this guide is still useful for the lo kit, just ignore the first bit regarding the small halogen that you have to remove.

Cheers,

Pat

Excellent result Pat, three questions though.....

1. Why has the supplier made the 5000's redundant??

2. For those of out there that cant remove even the standard halogens could you tell us how??

3. Adjusting the headlight is as easy as turning those "things" at the back of the headlight assembly right?

Cheers

Reuben

With the standard bulbs you take the plug off the back (sqeeze and pull), then remove the rubber dust cap. Then the silver clip that holds the bulb in place has to be pushed in and down to unlatch it. Once the clip swings open you can remove the bulb.

Make sure you don't touch your old bulbs or the new HIDs on the actual globe. Any oil on your skin that touches the bulb will heat up and cause your bulbs to crack, or at least stain the glass and ruin the light

Yes the adjustment is those black "things". Park your car up against a wall (about a metre and a half back) and make sure your passenger side is higher than your drivers side so it lights up the side of the road better.

When you've adjusted it against a wall move your car onto a dark bit of open road and adjust to what you think is appropriate
