Stupid "speed kills" ads

I have had a real gut full of State Governments pretending to be doing soemthing about the road toll, especially coming up to Easter.

They drag out the old "spped kills" chestnut and tart it up with a AU driving into a truck.

Well of course here is a few tips for the Government at no cost for a consultant. Save them thousands!

1. Inspect cars each year for roadworthyness

2. Check licences holders each year for proficiency

3. Put Police back in cars and get them out on the roads instead of behind bushes taking pictures.

4. Limit the car power to 10 times the drivers age in CC up unitl 25 e.g a 16 year old can drive a 1600 and a 25 year old can drive a 2,500 CC car

5. P and L platers to display their plates

6. Ban all Commodores

7. Ban retreaded tyres on passenger cars

8, Offer a Gold licence for those who can demonstrate advanced driving skills

9. Get the Interstate trucks off the road and put the freight on trains

10 Increase the speed limit on highways (divided to 140KPH)

11. Actually tabulate the crash statistics properly rather than the haphazard way its doen now.

12. Fit Premium brakes on all XR models at no cost to Forum members

See its not hard , just takes 10 minutes to solve. I hate the ads - they are just clearly wrong

Yearly may be a bit too much but maybe every 5 or 10 years

Need to limit power to weight ratio not capacity

It depends which highway(s) you are talking about. Some limits need raising, some need lowering 'cause they are such goat tracks.

Hell yeah! Making speed limits lower makes them more unrealistic, so people just ignore them anyway.
