calling all xr6 turbo gurus Help!

How you going guys? Iv recently bought a xr6 turbo which had been run into the ground, so I’m attempting to save it. When I initially went over the car alot of things didn’t make sense about the modifications made by previous owners, from the way the battery relocation was set up, to the way the catch can was connected ect. There’s so many loose cables floating around the engine bay not connected to anything which is very confusing.

I was wondering if anyone on here could tell me what this is (picture attached) as I found it tucked under the air filter?

That is the factory electric wastegate solenoid. The electrical connection should be around the strut tower near the bottom-of-the-battery/power-steering-reservoir. The connection close to your thumb goes to the wastegate itself and the plastic output goes to the "pressure source" (usually a nipple on the turbocharger front-housing itself).
