aftermarket ICC or aftermarket fascia with double-DIN aftermarket head unit is the best way to get that sort of thing done.

Yup as above.

Ford Sync 3 software is the only software that supports apple carplay.

Sync 2 is what came in FG mk2 and FGX. I know FGX can upgrade to sync 3 software so theoretically it can get apple carplay. Not sure about mk2 FGs though as the hardware may not support sync. Purely speculation on that though.

Other than that, you'll need to get an aftermarket head unit that supports it. Stingray security have some fascia options to add head units underneath the factory ICC and also factory ICC screen relocations to add head units where the factory screen used to be.

There is only one company at the moment that offers complete ICC replacement packages with carplay support and that is Kayhan audio. They have options for Mk1, 2 and FGX.

Aerpro is supposed to be releasing their own versions too but that seems to have fallen off the face of the earth.

The OP didn't say whether their car is a B-series or F-series. Aerpro do a fascia for B-series but not F-series. Kayhan do both B-series and F-series (and Territory)

Yea I realised that after I posted, hoping OP comes back with more info on the car :)

I rate kayhan audio stuff, V4 is released and seems very nice, better than the V2 I have anyway.

I look the newsletter from Producthunt.
CarPlay Smart Box - AI 11.0 - Wireless CarPlay/ Android Auto Adapter | Product Hunt

A new CarPlay Smart box has been released, that enables wireless CarPlay and Android Auto.
What really attracted me, was its mirroring video and standalone Android OS, allowing download any apps to my car.

Does anyone use it?

Hmmm, you didn't link a particular product so I found some things that I think you're talking about?

Carlinkit 3.0 Apple CarPlay Wireless Dongle

Carlinkit-3-0-Apple-CarPlay-Wireless-Don

These products take Existing carplay units that are wired carplay and converts it to wireless carplay.

They won't add carplay to a car that doesn't have it in the first place.

Thanks for sharing, I also know about this product. This smart adapter I saw from the website is very versatile. It can not only perform video projection and enjoy the viewing effect on a large screen, but also install Google applications to support watching various videos online, which really attracts me.

You need to read into it more because it's not going to work with like 99% of the Falcons out there.
I'll say it again. You NEED a sync 3 compatible factory ICC that already has carplay to be able to use this. It says that on the page you've linked:

"Make sure you have the original factory car stereo with a built-in CarPlay function If you’re unsure if your car has built-in CarPlay, please contact the vehicle manufacturer or contact us directly for further inquiries."

At the very top of the page too:

AI-box-Warning Supported Ford Models

AI CarPlay Box works on Ford models between 2017-2021 that came with factory Apple CarPlay function.

Make sure your vehicle has wired CarPlay or contact us for further inquiry.
