I just use the palm of my hand on the bottom number plate crease.

I have fitted the leather boot-pull-down strap which is stock on the BA Fairlane/LTD range. It screws into one of the holes in the bootlid and looks great when used with the felt bootlid liner. To do this mod you will need to order the following parts:

1. V 820183 S36D (leather strap $13.56 dealer price);

2. V 800537 S36C (bolt $1.45 dealer price);

3. V 820183 S36D (retainining clamp $1.45 dealer price).

The clamp sits hidden behind the metal of the bootlid and the bolt just screws into it, holding your new pull-down strap in situ.

It's actually a fiddly little bugger, that clamp, so be aware that you'll need a little patience.

But the result is very practical and very neat.... No more finger marks!!!

Cheers,

Ivan.

Sorry guys - no pics. I don't have a digital camera.

Not only that, but I'm so computer-incompetent that I don't even know how to personalise my avatar! :blink:
