Another thing to be aware of with fuel cards and XR6T's is don’t put them in the card holder under the centre console lid.

Cause if you park your car in the sun like I did the black console gets so hot my BP and bent like a Banana and stayed that way after the car spent just two days outside in the sun all day. (It usually lives in the garage)

My car is also white so doesn’t get as hot as a Phantom or Black car.

As I have stated in other thread, ULP is fine, and I agree with members stating the the difference is not noticable under normal driving conditions.

My XR6T has done about 7000k's and probably spent 25% of that on ULP, no problems at all!

When I spoke to my service adviser at Ford, he really only recommended PULP occationally because of the higher quality additives they apparently put in it.

ive got a fleet car aswell and my ford dealer said one week of Pulp each month is good enough, and there is a little difference but its hardly noticable. So I get one week of bp ultimate each month! yay

why would I pay the 9c/lt extra when I can just put it on the fuel card....although I donot believe the PULP is worth the extra so I'll probably only put it in once in a while to help keep things clean.

My XR6 T is thru Leaseplan (govt aka DASFLEET) and actually to my surprise was costed to run on PULP as this was the factory recommendation (handbook says that will run on ULP though).

Until I could confirm this the first few tanks were ULP. Car seemed to go ok but the fuel figures are nowhere near as good as PULP. With ULP I was getting high 12s and 13 l /100Km. With PULP I get low 12s / 11 l /100Km (I mainly do highway driving). Doing the sums, it is actually cheaper to run the car on PULP. I emailed Ford and their recommendation was PULP. Do the same and forward the reply onto your guys. Let them know that even Leaseplan cost the turbo out on PULP. Point out to the bean counters that it is actually cheaper to run the car on PULP.

Im pretty sure that even though you dont a get noticeable performance increase between even ULP and say Optimax because the 98 RON runs cleaner(It has a detergent in it)it is very good to use in a new car as it doesnt gunk up with all sorts of crap.Same way as using good oil and crap oil will affect the longeivity of an engine.

Another thingy I just remember hearing:The BP Ultimate is a better fuel because it is lower in sulphur than Optimax,Evolution etc.This apparently keeps your Catalytic Convertor happier for longer and other similar things.
