If you back off under load especially between gear changes you'll be slapping the diff bush or control arms. It's standard.

yes they'll do that when you're baking the tyres ;)

 

The clunk is probably the diff support bushings.

 

edit: car should be fine, rather have a car from the cops cause then I know it's been serviced. my BF is ex cop car and in every nook and cranny is red dust - I assume from the outback of WA.

dealer warranty = not worth the paper it's written on (sometimes), so don't count on it being valuable, if that's the case.

I bought a harrier warranty as factory I couldn't extend due to ex police vehicle.

It's the ford diff clunk. It'll always be there a little bit but if you notice it a lot (as in the sound is loud and he clunk is harsh) you might need to replace the rear diff bushes I believe.

 

Take it to someone who has experience with Ford turbos and they'll be able to tell you whether it needs replacing.
