just a question have u had problems with interference when car is running I did very similar install into a mates ute and had a bit of interference. had to try a few different methods of overcoming this. just thought to ask how u go with this problem

Get a good installer!! JC mentioned that problem and it is as simple as running cables correctly. Not a hint of interference. I could try and look and follow them if you want to see if that helps?

Don't run the power for the amp and the RCA leads up the same side of the car. eg. power up drivers side RCA's up passengers side.

So did you keep the back speakers standard. Are the standard speakers hooked up to the amp aswell, in saying this are your tweeters still going.

Justt had a new Clarion 12" sub installed into a custom box on Sat. Sub is running of a new Clarion 4 x 100w amp with 2 channels bridged to run the sub.

The amp is mounted under the passenger seat.

Also had a set of Kenwood 5 inch splits installed into the doors. Had to have a special mounting ring made.

Having had a few cars with big systems, I've gotta agree with Basher that a single 12" is more than sufficient in a ute cabin.

Sounds awsome......Seriously deafening when listening to a bass cd...

And only $1000 for the amp, sub, box and install.

Yes my rear speakers and tweeters are still connected but I don't think through the amp ... I find that if I play with the staging on the ford head unit it screws with the staging of the new splits so I leave it as is though I can notice the slight fill from the rear speakers .. just good.

Nice enclosure bara also ... can't hear much when it is turned up

Was head unit removed to wire up stereo? (I am told you void your warranty doing so), are you using speaker to RCA converters or an amp that allows use of speaker wire?

I have XL SE Ute that is only fitted with 2X speakers does anyoe know if the head unit can have 2 more speakers added, head unit has Front Rear Fader.

Any help would be grate as living in the Northern Teritory no one has wired up to the factory unit all sterio instlls caried out have seperat CD players.

No the head unit doesn't have to come out. The speaker wires have inline convertors to allow RCAs to then connect up the amp.

Would presume that all standard Ford sterios are able to run 4 speakers (2

in dorrs, 2 in rear on the side), so can't see why you can't have this done now. The rear speaker wires run down the left hand side.
