My bf xr6t with a tune making 240rwkw with everything stock occasionally feels like it has no torque across the entire rev range, mainly on 10c nights, in assuming this is limp mode but how do I confirm 100%

You will hear a resonant knocking sound coming from the engine bay. Happened to my old ba which was 6 speed manual due to overboosting. You'll have to shut the car off then turn it back on again to get rid of it. You'll know if you're in limp mode...

Fairly sure limit mode limits the max revs and speed? Or is that just the FG?

So pinging is the only cause of limp mode? I would have thought it would just pull timing if that was the case?

when mine goes into limp mode it is very sluggish, takes ages to accelerate, feels like no boost ect

When pinging is detected what happens, does it pull timing for a few seconds, or does it force it into limp mode.

Just curious what happens if you have a sh*t tune that pings all day, if the ECU will prevent you from blowing the motor up or if it will still ping all the tiem,
