Just got stuck in a storm in Sydney at lunch time.

Had to stay in the pub and have another couple of pints.

Damn shame really. Had work I needed to do.

Survived OK thanks - had a hail storm here this arvo just as I was picking up my bus to do the school run. Luckily I was able to park the T3 in the bus shed along with a couple of the other driver's cars.

Guess whose was the mug doing 110 along the motorway near Murwhillimbah when it hit him?

Guess who was the mug who decided that driving along the old highway would be safer?

Guess who thought it would be safer to go along a rise off the old highway along the range near Kingscliffe etc and got lost while trees were trying to fall on his new but unowned car?

Was a goodun, I could feel the car being pushed over the two lanes...well I THINK it was two lanes couldn't see for the flying water!

Fell sorry for all those who copped it full bore, must have hit hard if I got the tail!

Living in the Western Suburbs of Brissy we have seen some pretty savage damage around our area. A few houses up the road had a gum tree go through their roof. The big gum (15m) at the side of our house fell, pulled the roots right out of the ground. Luckily it fell away from our house and across the road, even more lucky no one was in the street at the time.

Coming home last night from work and took a detour through Mt Ommaney as the Western Freeway was blocked. I was right in the middle of the big storm in the T and as you said ED etc. it was pretty scary stuff, there were bits of roof all over Dandenong Rd. trees down about 1/2 a k down the road and the sun came out people were coming out of their homes to survey the damage crap was everywhere. It was really weird to have just been through that raging storm and then I was back into bright sunlight.

Here in Adelaide, we've had beautiful weather pretty much all January. I think there's been about 2 or 3 days over 30, every other day has been mid to high 20's. Barely a drop of rain. I can't remember the last time there was a storm here.

Best thing is, that because it's not raining, my XR6T almost always looks clean.

yup..your t is very...very clean....I even used my jumper sleeve last night to open teh door...no fingerprints that way....so cleeeeeeen!!!! :lol:

Soo glad there are no horror stories, especially after #7 (Friday's Storm). It had the force of a mini cyclone, one actually touched down in Beenleigh. Where we are in Hemmant and experiencing winds up to 100kms, man it was scary. Perfect calm with a lot of green and black clouds slowly advancing then thwak.......Probably the most full on display of wind and heavy rain I've seen. I kid you not when I couldn't see 4-5 metres in front of me. Couldn't even see our back fence. had approx 3 chairs and a plastic table flying off our entertainment area. Tree branches flying past my head as I'm trying to rescue things outside.

Not good.
