Heater Not Fully Turning Off

Featured Replies

The heater I my ba doesnt fully turn off, I can turn it up and back down but its alway something like 20% warm. I figured it was a heater tap, no dramas until I see there is no heater tap. Everything else works and the dash is coming out of the car next week, I have 2 wrecks so id like to fix it properly. Any suggestions on what to check to see what is not working properly?

Probably a broken mixer shaft. Dash out job to fix so lucky you are planning to remove the dash.

Chhers ralph. My first time behind a ford dash since an x-series, which is the mixer? Need to make sure I pinch one from one of the other cars before they go. I take it if the shaft is broken its visually obvious? Also is there anything else behind the dash that is common to fail, I take it its just the shaft and not the mixer itself that needs to be swapped.

Final question, is it really doors off to get those 2 bolts out for the dash? Both cars ive removed the dash from already had the doors removed but I cant really see another way.

Is yours dual zone? The missus territory had a similar issue where there was full head coming out the drivers side and the passenger was fine. Just pulled the whole dash out thinking it was a mixture shaft. Nope shafts where fine, pretty sure it was the control motor that operates the drivers side shaft. Its all back together and seems to be workin after I cleaned all the contacts in the motor.

Ill have a geeze when its out. It does go hot and cold, but cold is letting some heat through so even on a nice day I still need to run the ac.
