Hey guys, so I have some brembos here waiting to go on, just waiting for my wheels to turn up from japan. I had just realised that I'm sure my space saver wheel will not clear the brakes...

So what are you guys who upgraded to a brembo setup using as a spare? Buy 5 wheels? Does an FPV come with a full size wheel or a different space saver that will clear?

Thanks

Any FPV wheel will should clear Brembos. Also the Mk1 BA XR 18" wheels clear Brembos (if you can hunt one down). I ended up getting a copy 19" FPV BF wheel (silver argent).

The next issue is the boot carper is different for space saver vs a full size wheel. Full size wheel sits higher and the carpet is pressed for the thinner space saver.

I've only ever had to change a Tyre once on the side of the road and that was because I ran over a piece of steel and split the side wall . Every other time its just been a screw or a nail , so I just pull the the nail or screw out , plug the tyre pump it up and drive off . No need to take the wheel off . I know it doesn't answer your question but its so easy and less hassle than jacking your car up and changing a tyre.

I take my car away with my son, so I really need a spare, I wouldn't risk being stuck on the freeway with an unrepairable tyre.

Although ever in my life have I even had to put a spare on. Better safe than sorry.

Yeah preferably I'd go with the 18" BA wheel.

Thanks guys.

Yeah for sure definitely need a spare that fits. I get flat Tyres all the time on my work ute from driving on site . Its just so much easier for me to just plug it and keep driving rather than change tyres and take it to the tyre place for them to plug it .

Depends what size brakes you have on the rear. At a pinch if you get a flat on the front you can put the rear on the front and the stock spare on the rear. But not if you have staggered

I had thought of that. But they will be staggered and I was doubtful of the spare even fitting over the bigger PBR rears.

Ive got a spare 19in FPV GT wheel with tyre if you are interested?

Very minor gutter rash. And it clears AP's, so it will clear Brembo's.
