Xforce Exhaust Note And Muffler?

Featured Replies

#1

Hey guys just got an xforce 3.5'' stainless turbo back system put on my ba turbo its got the muffler and then the rear muffler/resonator that looks like a cannon lol. Gained over 35kws and loving it but it just doesnt seem loud enough? by that I mean it sounds ok now but I know it could sound alot nicer.

Has anyone had the same problem and what have you done to exhaust?

cheers

Give it time to carbon up as it will change. Did you get a tune after fitting this exhaust?

Yeah its all sorted tuning wise. Yeha I know the carbon has to build up. I just didnt know f I should get the last muffler taken out or if it would affect the power/flow

it will be stupid loud if you remove a muffler

you gained 30 odd kw putting the system on. seems to be doing its job fine.

Well not entirely mate.

Be very careful mate.. theres a fine line between a nice tough note and a terrible drone with these cars. I took the centre muffler out then got an upgraded cat/dump.. ended up having to buy an aftermarket catback to fix up the noise between 2-4000 rpm and 80-100ks..

Yeah question guy that was what im was afraid of. Ive heard some of those stories. Might just let it build up and run in and see how I go. Sounds great when you get up it. just would like a low rpm rumble. But im very happy none the less. thanks for your help guys

Well not entirely mate.

well you did other mods then, so state that in your first post.

letting a exhaust carbon up will make it more quiet btw.

Not sure mate, it definatly sounds different, the note can become very crisp after burning the mufflers in.

I personally chose a V8 style quad tip, with three mufflers in my set up. I hate the attitude cops have about modded cars so it is all sleeper from me. A loud exhaust is going to draw the wrong and very un wanted attention. IMO it will never sound like a nice V8 or have a nice rumble at idle. The barra engines are missing two cylinders and a bunch of valve overlap.

Feel free to post sound clips if you have found a way to get a barra turbo six to rumble at idle as I will be keen to hear it.

Yeah Ive just come from a V8 ute which sounded unreal and its just hard to reason with no rumble lol. But I notice it getting better everyday, sounding better.

"freaky" Mate I dont understand what your saying. This thread is about exhaust note , not talking about all my other mods and its carboning up and getting louder like most of my other cars. But cheers for your help anyways.
