Wow.. that's an awesome comparo there Ratter..

Personally I wouldn't of expected to see a gain in peak power.. I always just assumed that the Underdrive kits just helped the engine rev up a bit easier..

Hey another question Ratter..

Are your power results reading down the page in order of dyno run?

Because if that's the case I'm used to seeing the power increase per run but with the underdrive it looks like it's decreased (Even though it's marginal)

the dyno runs are numbered at the end, a cars output does vary with temps and conditions and these are pretty consistent

Hey guys, I have a 2003 BA XR6, with Pacemaker 4495 Extractors 2.5" back exhaust., and a F6 Lower Snorkel for the intake with K&N Panel Filter. (didnt see the money in the growler)

They are the only mods ive done to the car, and I put it on the dyno today to just get a power figure.

I was just using 91 petrol as I filled up when the petrol rocked not too long ago.

I made 152.8Rwkw (204.7rwhp).

Is that normal? Has anyone else seen these figures with those mods?

Im looking to put an underdrive pulley on within the next couple of weeks, can anyone tell me if they do much?(if you have experience).

And are there any other cheapish mods that I can do to gain more power?

Thanks.

The figures seem ok. My car had a 2x2.25 exhaust, growler, under drives and manifold spacers and it ran 160.8rwkw. That was a BF and I was hoping for more. It later ran 175.9rwkw with different extractors and a ported intake manifold.

Okay, well next week sometime, im going to go get the car tuned on 98. And yes, ill have to run 98 through it all the time.. I know.

But. the guy at Forced Performance and Tuning Toowoomba, said that a underdrive pulley will not affect my tune and that it is okay to do it after a tune. Can anybody tell me if this is true or not before I do this?

Yep - no issues with the retrofit. Go for it.

Okay guys, before I do my custom tune.. I wanna make sure everything is done.

I only have a N/A XR6 upper snorkel at the moment, is it worth getting the xr6t/xr8 snorkel? Or is the Typhoon Intake enough?

Also, have heard some rumours, that if I change my oil.. to 5w/30 Syn oil? Could also make a 5rwhp gain?

And Ofcourse, 98 Octane fuel..

If the oil rumour is correct, and 98 gives me a little bit, should send me over 170rwkw?
